SHADOWCLAN MEETING- Loners or Clan Cats?

Spottedstar quickly sprang up the low-set pine tree to the Highbranch. It was time for a certain family to decide where they belonged- in ShadowClan, or not, as loners. The leader had decided to call a meeting for this purpose because if any of them had the guts to say it in front of the Clan, then they might as well be one of them. The ginger and white she-cat knew this could cause the break-up of a family, but she was hoping that the matter wouldn't come to that, and that Shadow wouldn't have to leave any kits behind.

The leader raised her chin and yowled. "All cats gather under the Highbranch for a Clan meeting!" She had left out the 'old enough to catch prey' part since the kits needed to be here for this. Spottedstar scanned the clearing then, waiting for ShadowClan to arrive.

Shadow came from the nursery. Her tail guiding her kits with her, a sorrowful expression on her face. Her fur prickled and her paws kneaded the ground.

Heart looked up at her mother, her eyes big and scared.

Fang's claws kneaded the ground, her mother had not told anyone her decision if they were leaving or staying.

Shattered padded closer with his mother and siblings, his orange eyes sad. He had made his choice, and he could guess at his mother's, but it all seemed wrong. He didn't want things to change, he liked them the way they were. But he remained silent as he was lead by Shadow towards the Clan.

Leafheart sat down looking around for Tigerfang. Even though she didn't love him she needed his protection. She flicked her tail hoping to see him sooner or later. She sat close to the nursery licking her belly tenderly. The kits would be here very soon and she couldn't wait to see what they looked like.

Shadow looked into Shattered's eyes, she mewed, "Don't worry son. We will stick together. You may not like me decision but I will never let you go." she licked the top of his head and resumed padding up to the leader.

DirtFur had padded out, looking like he cleaned himself, even though some dirt was still there. He didn't fully clean himself.

Shadow's eyes met Dirtfur's she smiled weakly and looked away. She sighed and looked back to her kits, bigger now. She shook her head and watched her paws.

Spottedstar flicked her ear. Not many cats were here, but she wasn't going to wait forever. "Cats of ShadowClan, the time has come for our guests, Shadow and her kits, to decide where they belong- with us, or outside our territory." She glanced down at the cats she was talking about and beckoned them to come forward. "Have you chosen your places?"

Shadow stood at the ShadowClan leader with dignity. Her head hight even though she was shorter than her. She dipped her head and said, "Yes Spottedstar. I have chosen our place, where we belong."

Spottedstar blinked. "And where is that?" she asked, wanting an answer.

Shadow took a deep breath, "We, we wish..." she trailed off. "We will join ShadowClan if... if you will take us." she dipped her head again.

DirtFur looked at Shadow with shock, running up to her.

"R-r-really?!"

His eyes were wide, really shocked indeed. She wanted to go back, but why would she stay?

"Yes." she smiled, "There are more people hoping me to stay then go." she looked away.

She purred softly.

"Okay!"

He padded back to where he was, his mind swirling.

Spottedstar smiled, feeling almost triumphant in the matter. "Then I accept you all into our ranks. Kits, please step forward." She nodded to them, indicating for them to come below the Highbranch.
