The she-cat that padded back into the clearing had an eerie look about her. White, with silvery-gray patches splattered across her fur. She was in that stage that she had just finally grown into her adult body, a lithe and sleek form at that. Her eyes were the same color as her body, silvery-gray. The last time she had been in this clearing, Tanglestar had ruled. But after that leader had drowned in the flood, she had left the clan for a while, having been stranded on high ground till the waters went down. But this she-cat had a history in this clan.
Many, many moons ago she had been Moonshine, a she-cat with a good life. But she had been murdered, by another tom in the clan and her blind sister had died. But she had been reincarnated as Moonkit, who had eventually grown up. As a kit she had been cold, and cruel. So very different from how she had been as Moonshine. But now, she was starting to resettle in life, starting to get used to it again. She sat down, curling her silver spotted tail across her paws.
Another cat, the leader of this clan, Riddlestar, limped forward, his bad paw trailing slightly. "Moonshine. I'm glad you came back. We could use all of the warriors we get. You're welcome in the Warriors den, if you wish." He purred, giving her a lick between the ears. It was a greeting her rarely used with any, not even his own kits.....or rather kit. He hadn't seen the others since the flood and had given up hope of seeing them. Only little Turtlekit, his daughter, the one who's leg had been mangled and had no hope of becoming a warrior. Moonshine looked at him and nodded. "I would be honored, Riddlestar. Thank you." She said softly, padding across to the Warriors den, taking a quick look around and padding back out. She hopped up on top of a stump, curling her tail across her paws as she watched little Turtlekit sit and watch a butterfly. That little kit had always amused her. After all, how many kits can be so quiet and patient? Not that Turtlekit chose to be quiet, she just hadn't spoken a word since the attack that left her disabled. Moonshine sighed, laying down and closing her eyes as she basked in the sunlight, happy to be back with her clan.
