Firestar was sitting at the edge of camp, watching her new kits play with a moss ball. She had announced that she would care for them with Leopardclaw, and have them sleep in her own den. It was a clever plan, and the clan believed it so far. She sighed, the absence of Miraclefur had worried her, would she have not lost that life if Miraclefur was there? She didn't know, she also didn't know if she had lost multiple lives. It scared her. But she sighed and went on with her life.

SnowFeather was worried about the fact that MiracleFur was missing. So she came over to the leader's den and called in.

"FireStar?"

She waited for a response, a response of letting her go in.

"Come in." she mewed, "What can I help you with?" she asked, hoping she would be able to answer the question.

SnowFeather grimaced, sitting in the leader's den now. She watched the little kits, and couldn't help noticing that they looked like FireStar..

She shook her head, taking that thought away.

"MiracleFur. Where is she?"

Her ears flickered with discomfort.

Her eyes darkened, "I don't know, she left. So has the little kit Ice, Moonlight is devastated." she shook her head, "I am going to go to moonstone as soon as I can leave the clan safely." she said. "StarClan will have an answer, but I'd prefer to wait until the snow leaves. If we need a medicine cat before then we will have to go to one of the other clans. But I don't know where Miraclefur went to." she explained. "I wish I did."

SnowFeather bent her down, in a droop. But another question was rolling up in her mind. She looked up.

"What about.. the kits? These kits."

She was hinting something, but she didn't want to say it.

"If they were.. I'd still trust you, by the way."

Firestar didn't meet her gaze, "If they were what, Snowfeather." she said, a hint of ice in her voice.

SnowFeather glanced at her leader.

"I think you know what I mean, FireStar."

Her tail moved over her paws, not intending to lave just yet.

"They look a lot like you, ya know."

Firestar looked away, "RiverClan deserve a better leader." she said, watching her kits. "I wish I could be that cat, but all I ever wanted was to be a nursery queen." she sighed, "But I can't, one of the kits died before we could get her to camp." a tear fell down her face. "Don't tell the clan, I keep them enough stuffed in here so the clan can't notice." she shook her head. "After Crookedstar all I want is the Clan to believe that their leader is trustworthy."

SnowFeather winced, and padded over to FireStar. She licked the top of her head gently, as a mother to a kit. Of course, FireStar was a moon or two older than her, but SnowFeather was being polite.

"But you are."

She sympathized.

"Your whole clan, your clan-mates... are your kits. Don't you see?"

She smiled.

"You are trust-worthy, no leader could do more than you are right now. Believe me, FireStar.."

"Any other Clan leader would have put the clan before her own wishes." she said, "I wished for kits, and I got them, a secret I can't even show in the light." she sighed, "Mercykit is dead and who knows how many of my lives went with her." she shook her head.

"FireStar. Don't put yourself down."

She ordered, her tail tip twitching.

"I'm sure LeopardClaw will help you get through this. I'll help too."

She dipped her head.

She nodded politely. She could understand why FireStar feels this way, but she must understand that SnowFeather will help.

"Ok." she said, "I believe you." she said What other choice do I have she thought. "Do you think you could come with me to Moonstone when the time comes?" she asked. "I'd ask Leopardclaw or Stormstrike but Leopardclaw will have to watch the kits and Stormstrike will have to watch the clan."
