Look Out Angry Leader

Tanglestar ran through the camp agitated. What she had just seen and smelt was appauling. Riverclan had been in their territory and they had no intention of hiding it. "Riddlehawk Where are you?", she growled. They were still healing from their last battle so attacking them wasn't an option. She had an idea of how to deal with them but she wanted her deputy's approval first. She would also need to see Sunflash.

Goldenfur was about to pick a meal when she saw her leader, "Tanglestar, what is it?" she said bounding up.

Tanglestar ignored her warrior. "Riddlehawk!" She yelled. Her deputy would have to be far away not to hear her call. It was time to decide what action should be taken and she wanted Sunflash at her side.

Goldenfur sighed and padded away, Tanglestar seemed mad...

Sunflash quickly come out of the warriors den, worried at Tanglestar's call. Seeing her standing in the clearing unharmed allowed him to exhale a restrained breath. He padded over to her without most of the previous anxiety and rested his tail on her shoulder. "What's wrong? Are you alright?"

Hazelthorn saw his leader run into camp. He dropped his meal and padded over. "Whats happened Tanglestar?" He asked seriously and looked as the other cat walked away. "One does not lead a clan alone on her own opinion." He growled to himself. Lately Tanglestar had been acting very selfish and he didn't like his clan members doubting the leadership but could he blame them?

"And what do you know of leadership!", she snapped she needed to speak with Riddlehawk, Sunflash and Dappledfrost. She twitched her tail as a signal for her senior warriors to follow her to her den. She padded into the entrance walking to her nest. She sat down quickly and her eyes blazed. "Where is Riddlehawk? No matter. Riverclan is stealing our prey.", she announced waiting for a reaction she had planned for.

Sunflash's eyes flared, then narrowed into thin slits. "RiverClan?" he repeated. "Usually they have more prey than any Clan, considering their supply of fish. The river must have frozen over." The golden tom didn't like the sound of it. If RiverClan was stooping to prey theft, things must be getting bad. "When did this happen?"

Dappledfrost bounded lightly into Tanglestar's den along with the warriors. After hearing Tanglestar's words, the medicine cat grimaced. Tanglestar had become more and more bristly with leaf-bare. First ShadowClan, and now RiverClan? She didn't want to speak out, but she felt like she had to. "Tanglestar, are you sure of this? Are you positive it's not some other preditor?"

She looked at her medicine cat. Why were all of her warriors doubting her ability as leader. She hadn't become old and senile. "Our western border eeks of Riverclan and I have found two mice carcasses carrying the scent.", she said calmly. She didn't want to attack to Riverclanners she had an idea she wanted to pass by all of them. "Leaf-bare are hard times why not make an ally with the Riverclan. We will be stronger than ever with a treaty with one of the other clans.

Riddlehawk bounded into camp, having just heard Tanglestar yelling his name. He'd been hunting on the far side of Thunderclan territory. He skidded to a stop beside Tanglestar, the big tom pinning his ears back slightly. Sorry, Tanglestar. I was hunting. Got here as fast as I could. He said, flickering his tail. He sat down in her den, thinking quietly. We can't afford a war with any clans right now. I think it'd be best just to play it safe and try and ally ourselves with everyone we can. Including the loners. He said the last part after a moment, a sigh escaping him.

Sunflash pondered this. "An alliance? It sounds interesting, but would RiverClan go along with it? They have their pride, after all." His whiskers twitched. He also doubted that if RiverClan did agree, they would leave the territory after leaf-bare was over.

Dappledleaf bit her tongue, and looked down at her paw. Why form an alliance if RiverClan was robbing them of food already. Her blue eyes darkened, troubled, but held out of speaking, wondering if other warriors had opinions of their own.

Tanglestar nodded taking in all of her warriors thoughts. "If they choose not to go along then they we will run them off our land and make sure the prey-stealing stops.", she said full of confidence that her plan would work. "I will need a patrol to accompany me to the Riverclan camp. Rddlehawk please assemble them.", she said getting ready to go straight to Crookedstar and tell her the bargain.

Riddlehawk nodded, his gold eyes solemn. He padded out of the den, slipping towards the center of camp. "I need a few Warriors." He said, slipping into the Warrior's den.

Rainpaw stood at the entrance of the medicine cat's den, his green eyes studying the cats as they met and talked. He didn't say a word, as they argued and raised their voices. But, his mind was running wild. He had an idea. As Riddlehawk moved to the warriors den, he quickly went after him as his leg allowed. As he reached him, he looked up to him determinedly. "Riddlehawk, let me come please!" He said right away, voice anxious and talking fast so Riddlehawk couldn't interrupt. "They won't think of me as a threat and I want to come, please!"

Dappledfrost, overhearing the quickly spoken words from her apprentice, padded over to the two toms. "You know, Rainpaw's right. Taking a medicine cat instead of a whole patrol of warriors would hold off an attack." She looked down at the little tabby kindly. "Besides, I've kept him cooped up long enough for today."
