Tanglestar walked out of her den just in time to hear the apprentice. "You can come young one.",she smiled towards him. She had a soft spot for kits and apprentices and his eyes cut straight to her heart. She looked at Riddlehawk ready to leave towards Riverclan territory. "I want a small patrol we will only need one more warrior. That is if Sunflash and you are willing to go.", she said curtly. Her compassionate side had been rekindled and she felt the need to give all of her warrior a good lick. She rested her tail on Rainpaw's shoulder and guided him to the camp entrance. "How is your training?", she asked very warily. Needleherat and Frostorm had come for him before and now they were bringing the young apprentice to them. "You must be careful and stay right next to me the whole time.", she instructed very solemnly. She knew this would be risking his life for the sake of peace.

The thought of the two RiverClan warriors sent shivers down the medicine cat's spine. She hadn't been thinking about them when she had said he could go. Am I giving the OK for him to walk to his death? Not being able to stand the thought, Dappledfrost pushed it away abruptly. "I don't think RiverClan knows about their actions, so they won't try to attack when every cat's around. But by bringing Rainpaw and Riddlehawk into their territory, you might need to expect the worst."

Sunflash padded over to join the small gathering of cats. He flicked his tail to Dappledfrost. "But there will be four warriors against two, and Riddlehawk has shown that he can take care of himself." The golden tom then looked over to Tanglestar and smiled. "You don't have to put all this on your shoulders. We'll help you."

Rainpaw's smile grew even wider as Dappledfrost agreed and Tanglestar as well. Finally, he could do something to help the clan besides gathering herbs and cobwebs. But he even noticed the anxiety and concernt that passes between the two of them at the thought of the two warriors of Riverclan. One, Froststorm, had tried to take his life once before and was the cause of him becoming crippled and medicine cat apprentice. But his eyes were set with determination and no fear. "I will be careful, but I'm not a kit anymore. I have practiced some of my old training, adapting to my injury. I can handle myself." He said solemnly, then he glanced to Riddlehawk. He truly wasn't the small apprentice he had been. He had grown up well, even with the setbacks of his leg. His was strong, compactly built because of his frame. He was still small, but not as he once was. He was just a smaller warrior now, instead of a very small apprentice. And because of what he had been through, he had matured quickly. He was ready to face these cats.

Goldenfur padded up to Riddlehawk and Tanglestar. "May I come with you?" She bowed her head in respect.

Tanglestar smiled sweetly. "Of course!'', she purred. "Now we can begin our journey. Eat some prey we need to be strong if they choose to attack us.", she said a little optimistic. "Hurry now.", she said in her sweet little kit voice that had disappeared after Moonshine had died.

Goldenfur held back a giggle and had a quick mouse before she hurried after Tanglestar.

Riddlehawk nodded to the apprentice. "Alright." He said, moving towards the fresh kill pile to eat. He flicked his tail, picking up a vole and eating it, wriggling with a smile. He looked at Rainpaw, the big tawny tabby eyeing the medicine cat's apprentice calmly.

Rainpaw was too anxious and excited to eat, so he just sat by the entrance with his tail flickering back and forth impatiently. Finally...he was doing something warriors do. Not that he was going as a warrior, but still....As he thought about what was about to happen, he noticed Riddlehawk eyeing him. Was he worried about him? "I know what I'm doing." He said calmly to Riddlehawk, to see if that was the reason for the look over.

"I know." Riddlehawk said calmly, licking his paw. He was calm. He looked Rainpaw again. "But I can't help but worry for you. You're always going to be my apprentice, regardless as to what the circumstances might be." He said, flickering his long tail.

Rainpaw smiled slowly, padding closer to him. "I know..I'll be careful." He replied, nuzzling his shoulder. "Just don't let worrying about me get in the way of doing your job, alright?"
