PheonixPaw finally returned, and it was long past day. It's been hours since BrokenPaw and PheonixPaw left. BrokenPaw left before her, which gave PheonixPaw a little bit to hunt for herself.

She was returning to camp, in her jaws seemed to be a lizard, and two toads. Her tail was high in the air, proud that she caught that much.

She placed it on the Fresh-Kill pile, not realizing that TigerStorm was watching.

"Phoenixpaw."

That's all he had to say, you could hear the disappointment and anger in his voice. Tigerstorm sat in the corner, shrouded by shadows. His yellow-green eyes glowed in the dark light. His tail flickered with agitation behind him and he stood stone still. No wonder this cat was not someone you would not want to run into on the battlefield. His massive size and scary demeanor really made him look like a tiger.

PheonixPaw heard that voice, her multi-colored fur bristling with surprise. She knew she would get caught, but she forgot about it.

She craned her head around, looking at him, worry sparking in her eyes.

She could already tell that he wanted to talk, so she picked out the two toads she got, and paw'd them over to him.

She sat and ducked her head low, her fur still bristling in dismay.

Tigerstorm didn't acknowledge the toads, just staring at his apprentice. "What were you thinking? I told you not to go out today. And especially without me!" He growled angrily, fur bristling as he shook his head.

PheonixPaw crouched against the ground, and stared at her paws.

"I-I-I thought that.. we needed prey.. Just in case!"

Her gaze lifted up to TigerStorm, pleading striking them. Then looked back at her paws for a second.

"Look! I caught two toads and a lizard!"

She pointed her nose at the toads, and then the lizard that was on the fresh-kill pile.

Tigerstorm grimaced. "You deliberately disobeyed me! I thought you chose to stay to go by the warrior code and train under me. If you don't listen, then that will never happen." He shook his head with disappointment, getting to his paws and padding away from her towards the warriors den without another word.

Now that made her angry. She got to her paws, and dashed off over to him once more, stepping infront of him.

Her fur was fluffed up, looking twice her size, which was about his height now.

"I do! Don't think I don't want to. TigerStorm, you are my model! But I wanted a break, I wanted fresh air. I wanted to help the clan!"

Her eyes were narrowed, anger flickering through her optics.

"Plus, I went to get a drink! TigerStorm, I want to stay!"

Her fur was still fluffed up, but not as much as it was.

Tigerstorm stopped, looking her right in the eyes as she spoke, his expression unchanging. "....I'm your rolemodel? I find that hard to believe because even if I wasn't, apprentices at least respect their mentor enough to listen to them." He said quietly and unhappily. He shook his head, padding around her. "I'm glad you want to stay. But you may have another mentor, one you may actually listen to!" With that, he disappeared into the warriors den with a flick of the tail.

Oh, no, PheonixPaw wasn't going to let him get out of her grasp. She leaped on his back, claws sheathed.

"I would listen!"

Her tail lashed back and forth.

"If I was going to get a new mentor, I would just leave!"

Brokenpaw had woken from his sleep when the mews of Tigerstorm and Phoenixpaw had reached his nest. Listening to the mentor's words made him feel horrible. This was his fault- he'd suggested going out in the first place, and then he'd left his friend alone for the blame. The young tortoiseshell crept out from the apprentice's den, with his ears fallen back, over to Phoenixpaw. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. Then you wouldn't have gotten caught."

PheonixPaw got off of TigerStorm, and looked at Brokenpaw. Her eyes widened, fury prickling through.

"You SAID something?! You weasel!"

Her fur was fluffing up once more, claws unsheathing. Her limbs were shaking with how angry she was. She actually thought she had a friend!

"I thought you were my friend!"

Her ears pinned back against her head, as her tail lashed back and forth behind her.

Your Yells Echoing Around Me

Brokenpaw's ears flattened back further. "I am your friend!" The last thing he wanted was a quarrel over this. "I didn't think anything would go wrong. If I hadn't suggested going out into the forest, Tigerstorm wouldn't have thrown a fit." He straightened up his ears and body then, not wanting to look like a coward. "I just said I was sorry!"

Tigerstorm could not believe Phoenixpaw was acting this way. He threw her off easily, about to turn on her when Brokenpaw appeared. He shook his head at the two, raising his voice. "Enough! It was wrong for both of you to disobey, but I did not find out from Brokenpaw. Do you think I'm mousebrained?! I knew you had disobeyed me as soon as I reached camp. I didn't go get you because I thought you would come to your senses and come back." He glared down at his apprentice. "What Brokenpaw did was wrong, but you are my apprentice and you will follow what I say! As punishment, no training for now. Instead, you will help with the elders and stay in camp, maybe then you'll learn how to listen. I will speak with Brokenpaw's mentor and see what his consequence is. Now this is final, we will not discuss it anymore till morning. Go to your den." He said sternly and did not leave any room for discussion, waiting for both of them to do as he said.

Her fur stood on no end, especially to what TigerStorm had said. That made her paws trickle, that made her claws flick up and down on the ground. She hated this!

"You can't make me!"

She screeched, shouldering past BrokenPaw and TigerStorm, dashing out of the camp.

She would have to think of something, she would return, but she needed to cool off some steam. This wasn't good for the little she-cat, she got angry fast, and as she left the camp-

"You're just like my weasely parents!"

Make No Sense

Brokenpaw watched her leave with wide eyes. What had he done that was so wrong to her? All he'd done was get tired and leave. She'd been fine with that when they were out in the forest! It must have been something just now, something he'd said. Was it the apology? he wondered. That was all I said before she blew up. Feeling wretched, Brokenpaw dropped his tail and padded back toward the apprentice's den, careful to not look up at Tigerstorm as he went. Phoenixpaw would just keep running if he went after her. Hopefully she'd be back soon.
