Ferncloud sat on the outer edges of the clearing, relaxing for the day. She had regained most of her memories and was now returning to her regular routine of things. She had just licked the last remnants of her breakfast off her lips, after burying the remains. The fresh-kill pile was always well stocked thanks to the Thunderclan warriors. Their new deputy was always pushing them to be better and work harder. As if it was Moonblossom's job to keep all of Thunderclan in line. She always seemed to be angry and frustrated with the warriors and their work. Her expectations always a little to high for the rest of the clan. But thankfully they had gained a new leader. Frozenstar. Hopefully her leadership would help the clan prosper. She hadn't been really close to the new leader, but she couldn't be all that bad right? as long as she didn't have Moonblossom's fiery temper and will all would be well. Ferncloud had been waiting for a new leader for many moons now, after the death of Tanglestar and then Riddlestar. Their untimely demise had been rough for the clan and now that they had a new leader things could only get better. Thinking of the now dead Tanglestar made her a little sad, considering that it had been Tanglestar who had forgiven her father for disloyalty and allowed her and her rogue mother join the clan. Some had though her weak for allowing outsiders into the clan, but Ferncloud had always been grateful for her leniency. And in turn she had been working her tail off to prove herself!

But with Tanglestar's death came Tanglekit's birth into the clan. And although she was only a kit, she had that spark inside her that was inside Tanglestar. Ferncloud had high hopes for this little feline, that was sure to change the tides in this changing world.

The uncertainties about the future were as plain as day to him. Their own clan had gone through too much only to be left with a new leader yet again. All this tossing and turning between new leaders was causing problems, especially emotional, within many a clan from what he was seeing.

However, all this turmoil wasn't the only thing that had been rolling around his mind lately. For months it seemed, this had been coupled with his growing despair over his love and the nightmares that had plagued him. Now though, she had regained most of her memories. Even now, Ferncloud was really there and not how she had been for so long. The cat he knew was actually there and his rollercoaster was over...cat least it should have been. Nightmares still haunted him, causing him to screech awake and the warrior's den to glare at him. This was the other thing that was adding to his spacing out. Ferncloud's limp form had been replaced by scene had had long been over. This was a new version of it though for the cat he had killed was staring at him with unseen eyes as Foxflight's own body was drenched in his blood. There were many variations of this nightmare that happened, but it was always the same eyes; demanding an answer to why he was murdered while Thunderclan stared at him in disgust or were looking down, ashamed.

At the moment though, Foxflight was carrying in fresh kill. He had awoken near sunrise from one of the nightmares and had decided to go hunting to keep the fear at bay while giving the clan a rest. From his mouth hung a robin with a brightly colored chest. It had been the red that had made it so easy to spot for Foxflight. With a quick dash and cut to the throat, he had acquired a meal for the clan and now was about to put it on someon's breakfast plate.

Delicately, he put it down on the pile, happy to be rid of the feathers in his mouth. If anything, the deputy would be happy to know one of her warriors was out and about already keepling the pile well stocked. Figuring he should eat, he took a vole from the pile and walked idly till he about jumped out of his skin at the feeling of something soft against his head. Looking up, he realized he had bumbed right into Ferncloud without even noticing. A blush hit his pelt before he could stop it and shoo it away. Taking a grasp on his emotions, he found his voice.

"I'm so sorry Ferncloud. I didn't see you there at all," he meowed as he dropped the vole. His heart couldn't help, but do a little squeeze at the sight of the beautiful sweet she-cat.

Dark circles seemed a normal thing for him now as he stressed over the upcoming plans of his and the nightmares that wouldn't give. He was a big bag of stress, but Ferncloud was calming effect he found out. He acted like himself around her. He wasn't spooked at as many things and his fur seemed to lie flat.

Ferncloud was a little shocked at being bumped into. She hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings, being brought out of her musings by a brush against her.She looked up to find Foxflight in front of her. She felt a little smile spread across her face. She noticed the dark circles around his eyes, from his sleeplessness. She slept a few nests away from him, not having enough courage to move hers closer. She had noticed his sleeping problems as the days had gone by. Like he was having nightmares similar to the ones she had experiences before her memory had returned. "That's alright. How are you today?", she purred. She wished that there was some way to soothe his worries, and help him. Wasn't that what you did for those that you loved?

Moonblossom walked out of the den her ears hanging low and her short lynx type of tail lowered behind her. She was happy for Thunderclan and the new leader. She just couldn't help but feel out of place. She knew she needed to embrace her nicer side, but she felt the clan wouldn't accept her. It was bad enough many of the cats respected her but didn't like her attitude. She just wanted what was best. Her ears flicked at the slightest sound as she continued to walk as she walked over to the fresh kill pile. She scrunched her noise up as her stomach flipped telling her not to eat. She felt hungry but she couldn't bring herself to eat anything.

She jumped onto a flat rock under the shade and laid down her stomach still churning. She flicked her ears down then back up as she scanned the clearing. Many warriors were up and about but she noticed two in particular Foxflight and Ferncloud. She lowered her ears and scooted back to hide in shadows. It was worse that she pushed Ferncloud to do more than her best when Ferncloud only knew so much joining the clan as a rogue.

Her tail flicked back in forth at irritation as herself as she covered part of her face with her right arm. She breathed a heavy sigh before turning her head towards the overgrowth. She focused her mind on the trees, but something kept bugging her that she couldn't place. She decided to take it easy today and hope that the leader would get stuff done today. She would go on a few separate patrols by herself then hopefully she would be hungry later. She smiled to herself as she thought about how she would conclude her day.

The smile that appeared upon her face after she realized it was him whom had bumped into her, seemed to make her positively glow. She was a beautiful she-cat that always seemed to brighten up his days no matter what. As of right now, he couldn't imagine a life without her. Ever since he had first really spoken to the shy, timid she-cat, he had admired her from afar. She was the perfect cat in every way and the fact that they were now a couple just made his heart soar that much higher.

Foxflight listened to her words attententively before replying, glad that bumping into her wasn't going to be a problem. "I'm doing fine," he meowed back. It wasn't really a white lie for so far the day had gone just that, fine. "How about for you? You must've been lost in thought to have let me run into you like that," he grinned. Certainly something was on her mind. Ferncloud, or any cat for that matter, that was paying attention to their surroundings didn't let cats just bump into them wihtout knowing.

She certainly had been lost in thought, to not even have noticed Foxflight. Her tail flicked back and forth as she stared up at him. He was so handsome and very good to her. Better than she surly could have deserved. He was gentle and kind to her when so many had been indifferent or distant. She loved this tom, as surly as she needed water to live. Her creamy coat shimmered as she found her self intoxicated by Foxflight's musky scent.

"I am fine, just thinking about the future of this clan.", she confessed. "It is good to see you. You look tired, come sit with me for awhile and rest."

She looked up at him hoping he would take her offer and spend at least a few minutes lounging in the sunshine. Sharing such an intimate pleasure with her, something she craved.
