The gray tom lay in the shade near the river. His gray striped pelt darkened by the shadows of the trees. Nakari hadn't seen his kits for so long and had wondered how they and his mate Roka were doing. he hoped he could see her today for he had a big question for her but hoped she would like it.

Roka walked through the clearing troubled. Koe had been convinced that he was not Cowspaot's son, and she knew he was right.She smelt the scent that was every present in her sons mind. "Hello Nakari.", she said politely. Her mating with Nakari had been a momentary weakness a gap of commitment between her and Cowspot.

Nakari sprang to his feet at the sound of Roka's voice and ran to her. When he reached he nuzzled her and stepped back "how are you my dear? it has been to to long!" mewed Nakari licking her on the cheek. He noticed the worrie in her eyes"what is it my love?' his voice full of concern.

Roka slunk away from him feeling awkward. "I am not your love, Dear Nakari. My love is Cowspot.", she said walking back towards her kits. She stopped an idea, She could not lead Nakari to her kits. "What do you want?"< she asked a bit confused.

Nakari stoped and stared saddness and sorrow filled his eyes as her words echoed over and over in his head. He lowered his head and let his ears fall down. They had spent time together and now it seemed like she had never met him that there was nothing there... He lifted his head up slightly keeping his ears back an looked up "I-I was wondering if Isa-kuin could come live with me..I-I would teach her how to hunt and swim, to live in the wild....I would have like one of my kits to live with me..." he mewed looking fully up his eyes wide.

Roka seemed very confused. "H-How do you know her name?", she whispered. He had never met the kits and he knew her name. How was that possible. "Y-you have never met her before.", she looked even more confused.

"I hear things, I know from listening to other cats but can I?"he asked he at least wanted to be with his daughter to at least be able to have some connection with his kits...

Isa-kuin was back playing with her brothers and sisters she was happy but felt like something was missing..

"You have been no father to them but it is up to Isa for she is old enough to make her own decisions.", she said cooly. She led the tom back to her kits and turned to Isa-Kuin. "Ask her if you want but please do not bother my other kits.", she said not wanting Koe to realize who this tom was.

Nakari looked shocked at the kits question "I am your father young one" he mewed then turned to Isa-kuin "my sweet daughter would you like to come and live with me in the wild I would teach you everything you need to know"he mewed but kept looking at his son still wondering why she haddn't told him.

"Ma, who is my real mother?! This is nonsense!"

He growled, then looked at Isa.

"Don't go! He just wants to pretend to be our father, CowSpot is obviously the real one. Then again, what do I know? Just, this cat -- can not be our father!"

Nakari looked shock he was there there father well only to some of them. He turned to Roka "I am surprised you didn't tell them they at least had a right to know even if Cowspot is your mate" he mewed then looked to Koe then to Isa and back to Roka " Come on Isa let go"
