{Needle} Breaking the {Ice}

Leo's paw swiped over Miraclefur's face, claws outstretched. She also pushed with her hind legs, scraping her soft belly.

MiracleFur kept her paws on her shoulers, shaking her head fiercly, blood droplets falling from her face. She almost lost her grip from her hindlegs, but managed to gain it back quickly, taking the pain.

Leo just fought harder, "Getoffofme!" she snarled, trying to nip at her paws.

Don't Ignore Me

Worry had left the kit's mind. Now he was angry. Irritation made his tail fluff out. Why didn't any cat listen to him? Talk about a piece of prey, his mother was acting no better! "Stop it! Both of you, just stop it!" His eyes blazed with a blue fire. He was through watching these cats fight without listening to a word of what he had to say. What was he supposed to do? Throw himself in the river? Would that end all this fuss? His tail, now twice the normal size, lashed out behind him.

"Yeah! Get off of me!" She snarled, her teeth bared.

MiracleFur didn't move, and growled.

"Listen to Ice!"

She wasn't even fighting back, but she soon got kicked off, hitting against a tree.

She landed limply, but managed to stand, padding over.

She breathed heavily, and stood over Ice, breathing heavily.

"Listen.To.Him."

Leo got up and shook her fur, "Fine." she hissed.

Make You Understand

Ice looked at his mother, unsure at first. Would she really listen this time? And if she did, would she understand? Probably not. But he had to try. He took a deep breath. "I love you, Momma, but I have to stay with Needleheart and Miraclefur. There's just something I have to do here. I'm not really sure myself how long it'll take, and I don't even think I know what it is completely, yet. But it's really important. I'll see you when I can, I promise, but for now..." He trailed off, looking down at his paws. He wasn't doing the best job of explaining it gently.

"You don't know what you are saying Ice!" She hissed, "You don't even remember what life was like there!" she cried, tears fell from her eyes and she turned to Miraclefur, her eyes filling with rage. "This is all your fault!" She hissed.

Tears Don't Fall

The kit winced. "No, it wasn't Miraclefur's fault, nor Needleheart's. But some things happened, and now I'm involved in this." He hated to see his mother cry, even though he was still a bit miffed. The pale tabby padded over to her and rubbed against her foreleg. "I love you, Momma, and I won't ever forget again. But I do know what I'm doing. Please trust me."

Leo stepped away so she could sit down, sobbing silently. Her claws tore up the earth.

Please, Please, Forgive Me

She wasn't making this easy on the little tom. He stepped closer after she moved, because her fur was soft and her scent was comforting, bringing back memories of his earliest days. "I'll come see you when I can. And I wish things were better... Oh, Momma, do you hate me?" His chest was almost ripping open with pain. He didn't want to go through all this. Ice wanted everything to be simple again, like it had been when he lived with Leo, Cicatrice, Aradox and his other siblings. But that wasn't going to happen ever again.

MiracleFur looked down, and sighed.

"If it wasn't for me and NeedleHeart, you probably wouldn't be able to see Ice again. We offered him to come..."

She murmured, and looked away. Blood was still on her face and underbelly, but she ignored it.

"But, it probably is mostly my fault. I'm sorry."

Leo sighed, leaning to Ice and licking behind his ears. "It is Ok. J... Just promise to come back." she wiped away the tears with her paw.

MiracleFur walked over to Leo, and scuffled her paws.

"Listen.. We won't let anything happen to him. I promise that."

She looked up at her, blinking.

NeedleHeart grunted, limping over.

"Ya, promise."
