Warriors RPG. We welcome members of all ages and have a great time here at CCOTF. With friendly staff and an intriguing plot we have nowhere to go but up. Hope to see you around!
Mika came out of the tree and jumped to the ground her paw was useful for catching fish. Her belly now bigger and kits soon to arrive any day now. It wouldn't be a big litter she could tell and now she had the help of her friend Kiki.
Kiki followed behind her shortly after. Her yellow eyes were still wary and troubled. Her friend's whole ordeal made her furious. She wanted to find the tom named Storm who had done this and rake her claws across her throat. But as of late, the brown she-cat had been occupied watching over Mika. She padded next to the younger cat and flicked her tail across her flank. "How are you holding up? Do you need anything?"
((Hey Spotted ok well Mika was going to have two kits a girl and a boy but the boy played by goldy will be taken, so if I make another girl kit would you want her or would you want a boy one? or do you wish to have one at all?))
Mika looked around the clearing and turned to her friend "I am fine but the kits are due any day now but I know its going to be a small litter." she mewed "There will probably be only two or three in the litter my main concern is where could we keep them? surly that tree isn't big enough for four or five grown cats? we must fine or build a safe den near the tree for me and the kits." she mewed as she then started to gather twigs together.
Kiki glanced up at her nook in the tree. She was right- there was no way so many cats could fit up there when the kits were bigger, two three, or however many. "I guess so," she agreed, out loud this time. "But maybe that's too exposed. Kits are fragile, I hear, and even Clan cats have nurseries if I'm right. Maybe we should look for another option. One that will shield you better than a twig nest." The loner she-cat looked around her, trying to get an idea for a good nest. Her eyes fell on the base of the tree. Its been done before."A tom I know, named Thorn, I think, used to have a nest in a willow like mine around here before moving father unto the forest. I could try to do the same by digging under the trunk."
OOC: I'd like one, but I have enough kits as it is. x) I'm going to have to pass.
Mika looked to the tree trunk to what her friend was suggesting "I like that idea it would be sheltered on all sides if we where to maybe get some thick bramble with thorns and cover the one side with moss then it just might work! we will put the moss covered to the inside so the kits wont get hurt." she mewed walking around the tree figuring every thing out.
Kiki nodded, padding over to the base of the willow. "Right, good ideas. We'll have to make it plenty big, though, without disturbing the roots. But this is an older tree, so the roots should be good and thick." The loner unsheathed the claws on her right forepaw, then dragged them over the earth. They left good enough scores. "The earth here is good, too. It's soft enough since its right by the river, but strong so that it won't cave in." Now all they had to do was dig it out. She glanced back to Mika, first to her swollen belly, and then to her muddled paw. "The digging has to begin right away if you're to have it ready for your kits. In your condition, I don't think you should be digging, though."
Mika turned to her splayed paw that was good for fishing but she hadn't tried to dig with it. There was however a small creek with fish was near by that she knew of. "I think I will go and catch us some fish to eat after" she mewed and she started to pad away and grabbed a cob web sac like carrier to put all the fish in then she went to the small creek near the tree and started to fish for lunch and dinner.
Kiki flicked her ear in understanding. "Okay, then," she mewed, then turned back to the tree base. Her mouth set in a firm line. This could take a while. She unsheathed the claws on her other paws, then began to tear at the ground. Dirt flew out behind her as her claws raked, the earth wedging in between them. The earth was thick, but thankfully it wasn't hard to dig through as she had though. She had to narrow her eyes or turn her head occasionally to avoid letting the dirt hit her eyes.
It took a while, but soon she had reached the thick roots. Now came the tricky bit. The loner squeezed into the opening she had made, her head almost below the tree. She was surprised to see that the roots formed a nice roof overhead, perfect support. That would certainly help. She then tore at the earth inside, going at the sides to widen it, then at the floor to make it a tad deeper. Then she had to go all the way into the future den and turn around to push out the excess dirt from the den, out into the daylight. Then she sat there, looking at her work. It was tall enough to sit up straight in, but standing wouldn't be an option for her unless she wanted a good sized knot on her head. But one could easily get out just by keeping their head low.
Overall, it was a sucess. The black she-cat crept out of the hole, and shook off the dirt from her pelt. Now it needed moss- feathers if they could find some wouldn't hurt-, thorns and brambles. Then it would make a suitable nursery.
By the time Kiki had finished Mika had caught 3 medium sized trout 1 large one and 2 small. She gathered them all together in her web carrier and dragged them over she saw the hard part was over and now came the easy part. She layed the carrier beside the tree. She then padded out to catch a few birds for feathers. After about five minutes about the forest Mika came padding back with a sparrow and headed into the almost made nursery and pulled the feathers out and spread them around for comfort she then headed back out and started to eat the sparrow to regain her strength.
Kiki mewed a thanks for the helping paw, then turned back into the forest herself. They had feathers, now they needed lots of moss. Thankfully moss grew rapidly near sources of water, and the spongy green stuff pretty much covered every rock and tree around. The loner found a nice, thick patch at the base of an oak and began to carefully split of layers with her claws. This took a while to get all of it since tearing at it as she had the dirt would ruin it. But it all came off in time, and she had to take two trips to transport the moss from the oak back to the willow.
Now the put it inside as a liner. Dragging it inside with her mouth, she began placing it underpaw in two layers for comfort. Once that had been done, Kiki moved on to the walls. The moss wouldn't just cling to the earth, of course, but it would stay if she tucked the edges into the earth just enough so that the earth would hold it there.
By the time twilight had come upon them the nursery was finished. Also Mika felt a kick knowing it was time. She went to the den and soon after five minutes had passed there in front of her where two kits, twins. The only thing different where there eyes and gender. The boy had golden eyes and his name would be Sikra. The girl had blue eyes and she would be Dusk. Mika gave a call to Kiki to come to the nursery after they had been born.
Sikra yawned, scents surrounding him. He smelled his mother, his sister and another cat. She cuddled up to the two she-cats. He also thought he could smell another faint smell...
Storm sat on a branch, out of sight from Kiki, but he could see Mika. He wanted those kits. They were the ones. Mika couldn't stop him, but the other one... He would wait for his chance. Then he clawed up the tree and ran though the tree tops.
Unaware of the tom's presence, Kiki poked her head into the deep nursery den. She looked down at the two little kits squirming around near their mother's belly and purred. "They're very beautiful," she mewed. "I can see their mother in them." It was strange for the loner. These kits made her think back to when she had been a kit with her brother, before... Certain things had happened. Since that, she hadn't been exactly good with kits. But seeing the two newborns contradicted with that.
Mika looked down then back up to Kiki "Thank you, and I probably wouldn't be alive without your help so thank you very much" she mewed with a smile then she looked to her kits. "Sikra and Dusk are there names" she mewed brushing her tail over them.
