The new leader ran up, jumping up on the highrock. She sat up there, looking around the clearing. Cats already started to swarm out of the dens, which made her tense. She was gone for a while, and she saw black grass, a lot of it.

She would talk to the medicine cat about that later.

Her ears flicked.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather around the highrock for a clan meeting!"

It felt awkward saying that through the camp, especially since she wasn't really the leader. Starclan never accepted her.

She looked at the clearing, blurry figures swarming out even more. She sighed, she could barely hear them as well.

All three kits stumbled from the nursery, even Smallkit looked too big for the nursery.

Birdflight padded from the Warriors den, smiling a Foxstar.

Moonpaw appeared from the Medicine cat's den, looking concerned.

Cinderpaw came running out from the apprentice den, then she found herself a spot out front so she could hear.

Moonpaw saw her and shook her head, padding over to her. "Hi." she mewed softly.

"hi what do you think its about?" she asked still looking up at foxstar.

"I Dunno, probably apprentice and Warrior ceremonies. None of my concern." she said, "My ceremony will be a moonstone."

"Yeah, cuz your too special for us," Badgerpaw purred as he came up beside Moonpaw to take his seat. "It's probably about the deputy. I just hope I get my mentor finally!"

Cedarclaw swallowed the last of her shrew and joined the rest of WindClan below the Highrock. Her yellow eyes were trained on Foxstar, narrowed in concentration. Now that she was leader, would she have gained the needed skills? Confidence, faith? What she hadn't posessed before she had left? The tortoiseshell's ear flicked as she waited to hear the announcement.

Patchedfoot ll Murkkit

The fluffy tortoiseshell stood up from the entrance of the cave where she had been guarding and sending out patrols. She looked back and forth into the forest one last time before she headed over to the tall branch where her leader would stand to lead the meeting. Patchedfoot picked a spot up near the front and looked up. She sort of assumed a leading positions making sure that things in the clan hadn't gone awry while Foxstar was gone to highstones. Now she stood and looked up towards the leader with a fixed gaze.

Murkkit emerged from the entrance of the nursery. He was 7 moons old a little over apprenticing age. He hoped that maybe today would be the day that he got his mentor?

"I'm not special Badgerpaw, just different." she purred, smiling softly.

Jaggedpelt looked around the clearing and sat down. After his mate had gone missing he wasn't very into much. He looked at all the places she had lingered and pain shot through his face. He cringed and looked to the meeting.

Lionkit bounced around his Dad trying to be happy. He wasn't sure where mommy was. He missed her dearly.

Smokewisp looked to his leader waiting for it to begin. He didn't bother with the clan chatter and payed strict attention.

Greypaw layed down. He wanted to see Smallkit but her watchful dog Spottedtail was always watching her.

Smallkit looked at Greypaw, a twinge of agony swept over her. She missed him so, she looked at her siblings then padded over to him quickly. "tonight! At fourtrees." she whispered.

Greypaw nodded. He also thought about the dog sniffing her out. He laughed and waited for the rest of the meeting to go on.

Smallkit nodded, checked that no one was looking and kicked his cheek quickly and padded over to her siblings again.

FoxStar stared down at all the cats, even if she couldn't tell who was who. Her ear flicked.

"It is time to announce a deputy!"

She decided to talk about the grass later.

She looked everywhere, already knowing who to pick. She couldn't see the cat, but she shook her head quickly.

"The new deputy will be, PatchedFoot!"

She made sure it rang through the whole clearing, even if she couldn't hear herself that well either.

SpottedTail finally padded out, watching Smallkit and Greypaw carefully. Her ear flicked, making sure she will follow Smallkit's every move.
