Cedarclaw twitched her tail in silence. Silentstar had been a great leader, one that WindClan would remember for many moons to come. But these things happen... Leaders die, and the Clan looks to their deputies for a new leadership. The tortoiseshell raised her yellow eyes to the sky above her. The stars were just starting to appear far above the camp. Is he with you, StarClan? she wondered. Secretly, the she-cat had always had a nagging doubt when it came to StarClan's power. Shouldn't warriors be the ones to control their own destinies? Did StarClan really control anything that happened to the Clans? If they did, why did anything bad happen? Not being able to answer her own questions frustrated the she-cat, and she growled quietly as she began to scrape at the earth with long, curved claws.

Mosspelt laughed slightly before calling out after the kits. "You're not going to get away that easily." She couldn't wait to see them apprenticed. It was about time now, and she knew the clan had high hopes for them.

Mosspelt shook her head slightly before nudging the nearest kit. "You know you're not aloud to be outside of camp. Now come on, time to go back to the nursery I think."

"All right then, here are the herbs you need," Whitetiger said passing the herbs to Spottedpaw and Ashpaw. Then he looked at Wavesong and mewed, "But your not getting any herbs. Your have travel without eating and that includes herbs."

Wavesong sighed and nodded before smiling. "I know Whitetiger, I listened when I was a kit." Chuckling he glanced at the apprentices. He hoped he had made the right choice in not bringing any warriors along. "Eat those quick so we can leave."

Ashpaw nodded and ran over to Wavesong. I wonder why Wavesong picked me! OOPS! Wavestar soon. Gotta start remembering that. she scolded herself mentally. She took the herbs from Whitetiger, nodding to the Medicine cat. Not eating anything but these herbs? It didn't appeal to her much but she wouldn't complain. She scarfed them down quickly, sticking her tongue out a bit at their bitter taste. She quickly hid her reaction. She hoped to be a great warrior someday, maybe even deputy or leader! But she would take it slowly, being a leader or deputy was something that was only bestowed upon the greatest. She would have to work hard for it. She looked at Wavesong, her green eyes eager and her tail flicked energetically.

The kits moaned again and padded to the nursery.

Patchedfoot giggled as the kittens were downtrodden to the nursery. "Kits you may come up here and play in front of me." She said softly not liking to see the kits look so sad.

The kits looked at each other then shook their heads and bounded to the den. "**** do ** **ave ** ****** Wavesong?" Swiftkit whispered.

Wavesong watched the kits, hearing only parts of their conversation. "I really worry about what they're saying sometimes." He murmured to Whitetiger, frowning slightly. Shrugging it of he stretched and looked around camp.

Ashpaw flicked her tail back and forth again, watching what the kits were doing. She thought that it was going to have something to do with following them. "You may want to have them watched till we get back. They're going to follow us." she murmered, leaning over to his side.

Wavesong nodded thoughtfully before glancing over at Moonsight and Mosspelt. He easily caught Mosspelt's eye (Moonsight was staring at a bug) and mouthed the words. Watch them like a hawk. Mosspelt nodded before pawing at Moonsight and padding to sit just outside the nursery.

SpottedPaw was surprised that she was picked. She padded up to the highrock, only to be told to hurry up.

She nodded slightly, her fur bristling with excitement. Then again, did he choose this since of how AshPaw and herself acted earlier? Or did he pick them because of how good apprentices they were? She didn't know, and she didn't want to know.
