Moonspirit was making poultices for Smallpaw and Cinderpaw. Cinderpaw was up and alive but Smallpaw hadn't awaken yet. She hadn't improved and was getting worse. Moonspirit sighed, Smallpaw was waking up moaning a wailing at night. It was distressing every night. But she was still light on her toes since she was with Badgerpaw.

Badgerpaw came padding into the medicine cat's den, worry crossing his face as he looked down at Smallpaw in her nest. He looked over to Moonspirit. "Has she gotten any better?" he asked quietly. The whole camp had hear about this by now, with all the wails and moans coming from in here. The apprentice knew that he probably shouldn't be here, distracting Moonspirit, but he didn't know what else to do.

"No, she is really sick, but a jump in the creek doesn't help any poor cat with their heath. Especially one of her size. She shook her head sadly, "And we have no time to be together anymore." she added.

Badgerpaw's eyes widened, then looked down at his paws, hurt. "A-are you sure? I know I'm not a medicine cat, but I could help you." His mind reeled as his tail sank. "You know, with the little things. I could get moss, fetch herbs..."

Moonspirit pressed against him and licked behind his ear, "I wish you could, but don't you think it would look too suspicious?" she purred deeply, happy to be in his presence.

Badgerpaw pressed his cheek to hers. "Well, maybe not. The whole Clan thinks were just friends, so it shouldn't seem too weird. They'd just see me helping you out, since you don't have an apprentice."

She sighed, "I guess you could help," She mewed. "And Basic medicine training is good knowledge." her tail entwined with his.

Bagerpaw purred softly. "That's right. I just don't want you going through this by yourself." The black and white apprentice looked back to the sleeping body of Smallpaw. "So is there anything I can do now?"

"Nothing until tonight" she purred, pressing into him. Though she was a full medicine cat and he was an apprentice he was bigger than her, she was still small for a cat, still very young to even have her full name.

"That's just fine." Badgerpaw closed his eyes and smiled. "And she'll be fine, too. You're a brilliant medicine cat, Moonspirit. StarClan believes in you, and so do I."

She purred softly, "I hope your right." she sighed-Not only that she'll live, but that StarClan believes in us. It feels so right but... she shook these thoughts from her head. If StarClan disapproved they would tell her no doubt!
