Deathberries (Open)

Moonspirit was sitting beside Smallpaw. In font of her were bright red berries, freshly picked. She rolled them back and forth with her paw. Should I? she thought. Her eyes were locked on the berries. Smallpaw was officially in a coma. The right red berries gleamed, Deathberries. Should she relive Smallpaw of the clearly painful life, or hold on to her life.

Of course, Spottedtail was still in the den. She was just asleep, which probably explains why MoonSpirit was doing this at this moment.

Spottedtail always kept a close eye on the Medicine Cat, hoping she wouldnt' just bite her neck and end this for SmallPaw. Of course, she knew she would never do that, she is too kind-hearted.

Spottedtail woke, and watched the medicine cat. She probably didn't notice her eyes locked on her, since her's were locked down on the red berries.

Her ears pricked.

"Aren't those deathberries? What are you doing with those?"

Her eyes narrowed, tail swishing back and forth.

"Smallpaw is in so much pain, I..." She shook her head. "I don't know what to do anymore!" she wailed, tossing them to the side of the den.

Cinderpaw came to the small clearing that lay before the medicine cats den. There lay her friend Smallpaw..the night they had both jumped in trying to kill themselves but Cinderpaw had been saved but by what? All she saw of her saviour was white, that was the only color she had seen when it left. White she had not clue what it could have meant but if it hadn't then Greypaw wouldn't know her true feelings for him. She loved him and couldn't get him off her mind but she also couldn't stop thinking of Smallpaw her friend that lay there before her.

Moonspirit's ears flicked, "Cinderpaw, can I help you?" she asked. Her tail bushed the berries towards he and she wrapped them up in spare moss.

Cinderpaw shook her head "no I am just here to check on her to see how she was....she must be in pain..." she mewed frowning at the very thought.

Moonspirit didn't answer as she looked away. "Well, don't take to long." she mewed. She padded into the main Clearing She got out a rabbit and dragged it inside her den so the two she-cats couldn't see. She stuffed in some feverfew and poppy seeds. She hid it and then padded back out.

SpottedTail hissed, her fur going up.

"Don't you even think once that you would do that! No! I would have to kill you if you did that!"

She hissed, her whole form now standing over SmallPaw.

Cinderpaw looked at her shocked then turned to her "You can't kill a medicine cat! she would kill you before you knew what happened!"she exclaimed still in shock that she would even say that.

Moonspirit was still for a moment, "I'm not going to!" she said, almost forcing it out of her mouth. But either she will slowly die or wake up. She already has nightmares and... and... and I just can't take it!"

She started rolling the bundle away. "I will be back soon! I just need to bury this where no kits will get at it!" she left the den, going to bury the poisonous load.

Spottedtail hissed at CinderPaw.

"Go away!"

Her eyes narrowed, still blazing with fury. She looked back at Moonspirit, and bared her teeth.

"I don't believe you! She will wake up! She will recover! I just know it!"

Moonspirit came back after a few minutes. She padded into her den and came out, "I got you some Fresh-kill Spottedtail." She mewed, tossing it to her. "I am going to make a poultice for Smallpaw she said. She came back with a bundle of herbs in her mouth.

She looked at the fresh-kill, and nosed it away. She was getting thinner, since she hasn't really been eating either.

She looked at Spottedtail confused "NO! I have a right to be here just as much as you do! you can't tell me to go away from visiting a friend and I am sure Foxstar wouldn't like to hear you were being rude to and apprentice one who also almost died that night! You know what I doubt you would have cared if I had died!" she spat back furious.

Her eyes flashed at CinderPaw, her fur on her shoulder blade rising. She took a step forward, tail swishing.

This sickness was making her mad, crazy, and worse, insane. She needs rest, food, and more importantly, herbs.

She glared at the apprentice.

"I do as I wish. You probably don't even care about SmallPaw."

She said, her voice cold as ice.

"You probably don't care about anything, but one thing!"

She might be being cold, but she would never show what she noticed about CinderPaw, how she reacts to GreyPaw.

"So leave! Stop making me fuss about with you! Let me stay with my true friend! My only friend!"

She growled, turning around with her tail lashing right in her face.
