Moonsight padded through the forest silently, taking care not to alert anyone to his presence. He wasn’t avoiding the rest of the clan, or at least he told himself. But he had to get away, Mosspelt was always willing to help though she had no idea what was going on, and that was what she was doing now. Covering for him.

He didn’t expect any of his friends to go look for him, he had lost his closest ones since he had returned. And he couldn’t expect Lillywhisker to come back to the clan anytime soon. Moonsight half-hoped Foxstar would come to find him, yet he didn’t want her to realize something was wrong. He had already hurt her enough as it was.

Sighing he glanced up towards the sky. What he wouldn’t give to be innocent again.

FoxStar did notice of his disappearence. She tried to follow his scent-trail, her nose always working for his scent.

The she-cat was prowling through, soon breaking out in a run. She wanted to know why he wasn't at camp. She was worried, her ears pricked up.

Not like it would help, but she might as well.

Her black paws tumbled over on the moor, and soon saw a blur.

She slowed, and crouched low to the ground. The breeze was blowing towards her, so her scent couldn't get detected.

For some reason, she couldn't tell it was his. She ignored the scents, and prowled forward. She wasn't sure who or what it was.

She soon noticed who it was, pouncing on him, claws sheathed.

"I found you!"

Moonsight froze for split second like he always did before mentally telling his muscles to relax. It still took some effort to adjust to Windclan again. Even though the clan had problems of their own, he still couldn’t get past the idea that everything between the clans was foolish.

He rolled out from underneath Foxstar gracefully, purring with pleasure. No matter how guilty he felt about it, he couldn’t help but enjoy the moments when he and Foxstar were alone. He knew he would be exiled if anyone found out about them. But he couldn’t bring himself to care anymore.

“And I thought I was doing a good job at hiding my trail…” He joked lightly. Stepping closer he licked Foxstar on the cheek before pulling back to sit down. “So why’d you follow me?”

FoxStar purred, and nuzzled his neck fur.

"I can follow your trail miles away from here."

She purred, her tail tip flicking.

No matter what happened, FoxStar knew that she would forever love MoonSight. She wouldn't find no other, she wouldn't let anyone else get close. MoonSight was special to her, a best friend, and someone who she loved.

"I was worried."

Her face grimaced for a moment, but she shook her head, clearing away all the terrible thoughts that was whirling up in her brain.

"Did you not want me to follow?"

She choked a bit, her ears flicking back against her head for a few moments. She ducked her head, but then nuzzled his neck fur once more.

Moonsight shook his head. He loved Foxstar with all his heart, and he knew she had right to be worried about him, but he wasn’t planning on leaving the clan anytime soon. Not until cats started getting suspicious. Foxstar would refuse to let him leave, and that was the reason he had only brought up the idea once.

“Of course I want you here. I never get to see you enough. It bothers me though that Mosspelt wouldn’t have seen you following me. She was supposed to be my alibi… granted she doesn’t know who she’s supposed to be watching for…” Moonsight broke off. Oh well, being alone with Foxstar was one of the few things that made him happy anymore.

FoxStar purred, and sat next to him. She let her pelt mingle with his. She breathed in his scent, although it was stale, at least, to her it was. She hated that her sense of smell was going down hill as well.

She ignored it, she was just glad to be there with him. Then she stopped. She stopped everything she was doing.

"..What? Watch whom?"

Her eyes looked over at MoonSight, her eyes filling with unease, tension, and worry.

Moonsight shrugged slightly gazing into the shadows. It was easy to pick out horrifying images out of the darkness but it was becoming easier to remind himself he was home now. “I don’t know. Sooner or later cats are going to start getting suspicious of why I’m never in camp. If a cat follows me and sneaks up on me, I don’t know if I could stop myself from attacking them now. It’s ingrained to deep into everything I am…”
He broke off, frowning. “If that even makes sense… I don’t think it came out the way I intended it to be.”

“You’d live, just like a strong leader does.” Moonsight replied quietly, fighting back the guilt he felt. At least he hoped Foxstar would move on, he didn’t want her to suffer if he left. But he couldn’t help the nagging feeling that told him that he was wrong. “Of course, we wouldn’t have to worry about that if Starclan wasn’t being such a pain. The fact that the rest of the clan is so dependent on Starclan is the only reason why I haven’t gone in there and announced my love for you sooner.”

FoxStar winced. She knew that wouldn't happen. She knew she would be depressed, and be a worse leader than she already was. She scuffled her black paws together, her blue gaze staring down upon them, although her head did not move at all.

She released a sigh, letting the wind blow against her fur. She tried to think positive, she really did, but she wasn't sure how.

The only thing that was positive for her, was MoonSight.

"If you say so.."

She looked up at the sky, her head slowly tilting up that way.
