The cold breeze hit Whisperpaw's light fur, making it ruffle up. It was leaf fall, that was for sure, and it was starting to get a little too cold for the she-cat's taste. Atleast the sun was out. That was a plus.
Her paws pressed down the dried grass. Where was she? Nightpaw had basicly dragged her out here, then she disapears? How nice of her. Whisperpaw was nervous. She had no idea what was giong to happen. Nightpaw just told her to meet her here, that she would teach her how to be a real she-cat. So she figured she might as well come.
She then saw the black figure that was Nightpaw. She slowly made her way towards her tentivly, worrying what would happen.
Whisperpaw shrank at her questioning. She didn't like this idea. She didn't like this. She hated being the center of attention. Just let her be on the side of things, and she would be happy. But no. Of course not. I-I guess... the she-cat whispered, her head down. Her blue eyes were looking at her striped paws, not at the black she-cat infront of her. This was out of her comfort zone, way out. She was scared of this, this unknown. But maybe by the time this was over, she wouldn't be.
"Look at me!" NightPaw said sternly. She was going to get through to this she-cat. This she-cat was going to become a better one than what she was now. Not like she wasn't so good now, it's just... she wouldn't stand up for herself!
"If you get scared of every little thing, everyone is going to walk over you!" NightPaw hissed aloud, "Do you want that? Do you want to be alone?"
NightPaw swished her tail side to side, "You gotta learn to be a bit more upfront about things. If everyone walks over you, you will have no friends. They will all backstab you."
She said that in a soft tone, trying to be a bit calmer.
Whisperpaw tentatively lifted her eyes from the ground to stare at the demanding black she-cat in front of her. She stared at Nightpaw as she hissed at her, anger coming through her words. The silver apprentice shook her head. She didn't want to be alone. She didn't want people to walk over her. She just didn't know what else to do...
Why was Nightpaw helping her anyway? What gain did she achieve from this? It made no sense... Maybe she was just being nice? Who knew. Whisperpaw sure didn't. She just stared as the other cat's tone turned softer. She opened her mouth, words failing to come out. She closed it, then tried again. How do I do that? The words came out a quiet squeak.
The black she-cat just stared at her. She was confused on her question. The only reason was because she was unsure on how to answer that. She was'nt much of an explainer. She just liked to argue and make a scene.
"Well..." she slowly murmured, staring down at her paws, "I can't exactly tell you that. You'll just have to fight off the urges on wanting to stay quiet and not make a fuss."
NightPaw suddenly swiped her paw in the air, right at WhisperPaw's head. The reason for this, is because she wanted to see what her reaction would be. With any luck, she would at least duck. With a whole lot of luck, she would duck and then swipe back at her. Either way... would be a bonus... She just hoped she didn't hit her. Even if it did hit her, it wouldn't be that hard.
Whisperpaw stared at the black she-cat with wide eyes. Nightpaw looked confussed. Wait... She didn't know? She draged her all the way out here, and this apprentice had no clue how she was going to help? Irritation pricked at Whisperpaw, but her body wouldn't let her express it. She just stared, bewildered.
Suddenly, she saw a flash of movement. She instinctively ducked, fear and confussiong speeding through her. She felt the paw go just slightly over her head, but not by much. What was that! She exclaimed, before her body seized up again. She cruched there, mouth agape, wondering what just happened. She had... talked.
"Good, you are slowly openning up more..." she murmured. She wasn't sure if she heard, but it was true; WhisperPaw was slowly openning up.
NightPaw just winked at the she-cat, and let her tail swish side to side. She still wasn't sure on how to help her, but this seemed to be working. Just a tad.
"Attack me," she slowly murmured, "But, claws sheathed."
Hopefully, this would help even more. If she got to play-fight with her, then maybe she would open up even more.
She concluded this because she reacted when she swiped her paw at the she-cat. It was obvious that this was openning her up just a bit. After this session... she was going to be clueless on how to help.
Nightpaw seemed to be happy about what had just happened. The black she-cat had winked at Whisperpaw, and how she seemed proud of herself. But... why had she swiped at her? It wasn't very nice. Infact, it was downright mean! Of course, Whisperpaw wished to tell her all this, but her mouth stayed closed and her vocal cords quiet. it was so unfair sometimes.
Whisperpaw stared at her fellow apprentice in horror when she told her to fight her. What? Whisperpaw was never very good at fighting, just hunting. And now, Nightpaw was asking her to attack! This was crazy, absolutely crazy. But... She did say she wanted to help, right? So... maybe Whisperpaw should do what she says. When Nightpaw attacked the first time, Whisperpaw had been so surprised her shyness slipped. Maybe that would happen again. But could she attack her fellow apprentice? I can't. Her voice whispered quietly. Her eyes traveled to the ground, her body shrinking down.
Ah. NightPaw figured that would happen. She didn't like that fact, but she had to accept it, right?
"Yes you can, you just don't want to do so," she said rather softly, hoping that it would help her attack, "Neither of us is going to get hurt. It's more like a Play-fighting type thing."
NightPaw sat there, letting her tail lash back and forth. She was still confused on how she could get WhisperPaw to open up, but... she would have to do what her mind said. It was the natural order of things, at least to her it was...
"Come on... you can do it![/b}" she spoke with encouragement.
Whisperpaw winced. She really didn't want to do it. She hated fighting. It seemed so useless. It held no real importance, just a show off of who was stronger, more skilled, more agile. The grey she cat sighed. She knew that once Nightpaw had an idea in her mind, the black apprentice would not let go of it. Whisperpaw really didn't want to do it though, but she had to. After all, she did want to become bolder...
The apprentice tentivly reached out a striped paw and lightly batted it at the other cat. She didn't even raise from her crouch. It was a slow movement, and Whisperpaw wasn't even sure if she had hit Nightpaw at all. Or even came close.
"It's okay to attack. If she's asking you to do so, I'm sure she knows what she's doing."
The voice of a tom sounded from behind the two apprentices as a brown tabby tom padded toward him, tail swishing back and forth happily.
Simba hadn't been on the moor in a long time... he'd only been there once or twice, really. He'd heard the two she-cats talking to one another and was watching them for a bit.
"Hello!" he called. "Nice to meet you all! Simba at your service." the tom bowed politely, not trying to sound full of himself, but to make it seem like he wasn't some creepy stalker and/or stranger. "May I know your names?"
The lynx point apprentice jumped as the male voice boomed behind her. She almost jumped out of her pelt! She immidiatly went into a low crouch, legs pulled under her, paws flat, her pale shoulder blades sticking up from her form. She was not in a postion to pounce, rather a possition to run from. Her dark tabby tail swished back and forth nervously as the tom strode towards them. His scent was unfamiliar. He wasn't a clan cat. Her pelt automaticly began to stand on end, not from anger but from fear. He was much larger than either of the two she-cat apprentices. He seemed jolly enough, but you could never know with these loner types.
Her body started to slightly shake with fear. She didn't know what to do. Her eyes just stared at him, wide as the sun, as she crouched quivering. She looked toward Nightpaw, helpless. What should she do? What could she do?
NightPaw already scented the tom. But, she was hoping that he would leave them be. Of course not, he had to prance on over here.
Her fur started to stand on end, and she swiftly spun around. A low growl rumbled from her throat, while the tip of her tail twitched.
"Get off of WindClan Territory!" she hissed, crouching down, while her ears were getting flat against her head. Ah, she was going to attack soon, obviously. She wasn't the type to run away.
She slowly slithered closer to the tom, while her belly fur slid across the ground beneath her.
"WhisperPaw, help me drive him out!" she hissed towards her.
NightPaw, the black apprentice, suddenly pounced at the tom, paws and claws outstretched.
