RosePaw gave an uneasy smile at FireStar and then looked down.

"A-After this battle, do you think you could be my mentor? O-Or do you have an apprentice already?"

She spoke rather softly, looking down still.

MiracleFur grinned at RosePaw, and smiled.

"Thanks."

She gave her a helpful nudge, and grabbed some of her herbs.

"Let's find a spot, shall we?"

She mumbled through the herbs.

Say That Again

Snowfeather's words hit home inside Ravenstone, and his head and tail drooped toward the ground. If only he hadn't given in before. From the very beginning he had known that getting involved with a taken she-cat would only end in pain on all ends. But all the same, he had gotten involved, and now it was too late. He'd never even have another wonderful moment with this beautiful she-cat when it was just the two of them, flank against flank. It was all over.

But what she said next made his head snap right up, and eyes widen to the point they could have fallen right out of his skull. "What?" he gasped, feeling the earth pull out from under him. This couldn't be! "Y-you're not serious, are you? I mean, you shouldn't have to leave because of what I started." The black tom knew he was going against what he'd promised himself earlier- to stay out of Snowfeather's life. But how could he now? He couldn't just let her walk away from her home. "I-if anyone should go, I should! I'm the one who started all of this. It's my fault."

SnowFeather growled, and turned around. She stared at RavenStone, and her tail lashed back and forth. It wasn't about him, or Hawktalon. It was because of how different she has changed.

"It isn't about you, Ravenstone. I've changed, I'm not no warrior no more. I don't belong here."

Her eyes stared at RavenStone's face while saying that, making sure she said RavenStone a bit weird. Then she spun back around, and already started to walk forth.

Firestar purred, "I would love to take you as an apprentice." she purred, touching her nose to Rosepaws as they do in ceremonies. "I'm sure your mother would be proud..." she mewed, "Promise you will only take on cats you are able to? Try and fight in pairs with a friend, it makes you better."

Ravenstone shrunk back a bit at her sudden turn of temperament. Of course, she had a right to be, but how could she not think of herself as a warrior? Snowfeather was brave, and strong-willed. A real RiverClan cat by blood and spirit. She belonged there, with her Clanmates. Not with him, with Hawktalon. With a future.

The black tom's head and tail dropped to the earth again. He felt as if his own spirit was gone. The warrior didn't feel the ability to fight off WindClan in his claws any more, or the strength to keep on his paws. How could he?

RosePaw purred, but stopped at what she said next. She still didn't trust her mother, along with her other siblings. Maybe IcePaw, maybe.

"Thanks... and I will."

SnowFeather sighed, knowing already how he felt, so she went back.

"Look, I'm sorry. I'm just not who I used to be. It isn't because of you. I'm soft now, and with NeedleHeart there..."

She shook her head, and then she whispered softly to him.

"You know where I would be anyways.."

She looked down, and then back to WindClan's camp.

"Should we be off?"

Ravenstone shook his head slowly. "No, you're still the same. I know it." He looked to her with a denied desperation shinning in his green eyes. This was where he would have to be strong. This was Snowfeather's life, not his. "But... You should go wherever you're happy. It's your choice." He thought of the strange tunnel she'd shown him, and how she'd been so comfortable there. Was that where she intended to go?

He glanced down to his paws again. "Just know Firestar would always take you back. You'd always be a valuable warrior to her."

The she-cat nodded to him, and just stared at both of the toms now. She really couldn't choose between the two of them. She just couldn't, at least, right now she couldn't. Maybe later she could, but not now.

"Well, we have to go scoop... Let's go."

She mew'd.

Ravenstone didn't look up to face her. The tom just shrugged. "Alright," he muttered, and began to pad after her, shaking his head to clear it. He had to get his mind back on the task set ahead of him. WindClan. Think fighting, clawing. Those sort of things.

"Alright, let's go." Hawktalon was trying to concentrate on those things as well, feeling very sad. He knew he had lost his mate who he thought he would be with like Stormstrike and Dappledleaf but he also knew he had lost a good friend.

SnowFeather was moving in a quick pace, until she saw the camp soon. Since of that, she made sure she crouched down so the ground was sliding under her stomach. She was moving a bit slower, and she was looking for some sort of gap to look in.

Her ears flicked a bit, as if a signal for them to do the same. Since when did Snowfeather become like a leader in something? She said she wasn't even fit to be a warrior!

Ravenstone kept up a bit behind Snowfeather, also keeping his body low to the ground and downwind of the WindClan territory ahead. The black tom was trying to keep himself focused on the task at hand. His green eyes scanned the land ahead, searching for some sign of life, but in vain. "See anything?" he mewed flatly.

Firestar nodded, "Now, RiverClan, lets go, if you are in Snowfeather or my patrol follow me, if you are in Hawktalon or Stormstrike's Patrol follow Stormstrike!" she called, then bounded after the three cats.

SnowFeather blinked, and took a few steps back. She bumped into RavenStone, cursing under her breath.

She looked at them, and signaled with her ears to follow her. Soon, she was back on all fours, and started to pace rather quickly. Before FireStar went anywhere, she whispered in her ear; "It looks like WindClan is preparing for something."

AshRose was last to get there, the dilute calico's tail flicking back and forth. She still was and probably always would be an outcast in the clan. After all, she had done nothing but babble away about Nargles and Hinkypunks since she had first wandered into the clan so very long ago. Ah well, she just sat back at the back of the clan, her tail wrapped neatly around her paws.
