What Now?[Spottedtail]

Smokewisp sat silently and sulkily as he thought of Spottedtail. He had missed her as she mooned over Smallpaw and now that she was better Spottedtail had no excuse for avoiding him like this. He growled silently sitting there like a whining coward. If he wanted something from her then she would have to take the initiative and do everything he could to get his love back.

The she-cat was following a trail, a very familar one. For some reason, she just couldn't point it out, then again, she had thoughts on her mind.

She was thinking about her apprentice days, and then about prey. She was trying to track down a rabbit, and thinking that she had the trail, it happened to be another cats. Of course, so many thoughts were ravenaged in her mind, that she didn't notice, until she head-butted right in the tom's back.

She took a few steps back, and looked at the figure closely. Oh, of course, it had to be SmokeWisp. No, it wasn't that she was avoiding him, she was just a bit surprised. To be honest, she kinda missed seeing him around.

SpottedTail wrinkled her nose a bit, and mew'd a half-hearted hello, for she could sense a few bad things were on his mind.

"Ahem."

She just managed to say, trying to pipe up some joy or cheer in her voice, but nothing seemed to go up, well, a little did, but not a whole lot.

Smokewisp's hopes rose and fell when he heard her voice. She had not improved much and he wasn't sure what he could do. "Hello Spottedtail.", he mewed the same way he had so many times. He had tried to put as much cheer in his voice as to change her mood. He had wanted so much in his life: A mate, Kits, Grand-kits, but as his life stretched before him he saw only sadness as he tried to comfort his mate. What was his life going to amount to if he could never break this despair that had grasped Spottedtail.

She sat beside her mate, her white paw moving over across her face, a few licks here and there to clean it a bit. She was thinking, trying to say this in the best way as possible.

She wanted kits, indeed she did, but she didn't at the same time. She wanted to be a warrior still, but then again, she wanted to be a queen.

She sighed, and looked at him, nuzzling his cheek a bit.

"I've been thinking..."

She started.

Smokewisp sighed when she sat next to him. "Thinking about what?", he asked turnign to face her more directly. He was very curious and wasn't sure what she was thinking about. Now a days he couldn't read her as easily as he once could. He would try some time but it was no use she had clouded her thoughts beyond the point of understanding.

She blinked rather slowly, and looked up at the sky.

"Family."

She concluded, and looked back at him, with a slight frown.

"I want kits, but SmokeWisp, I want to be a warrior still. I love feeling the wind in my fur, the urge to kill prey, but at the same time..."

She shook her head, with a frown, and thought for a few more moments, wondering how he would react.

Smokewisp was confused at what she was saying. Did she want kits or no kits? He wasn't sure but he would fight for the kits if that was what she really wanted and if not then he would support her no matter what. "I want kits to love, but if you are not ready then I will wait for you.", he smiled licking her gently. She would never push her a way she didn't want to go. Like her fur he would not lick it the wrong way and cause her discomfort.

Spottedtail sighed, her tail twitching a bit.

"I want kits. I do, don't get me wrong. I'm ready, but I fear that I won't be able to see prey, actually chase them once more.."

She licked his cheek gently, a soft purr rumbling. She loved him, that's for sure.

"I will not rush if you want to hunt then you shall hunt, no one will stop you.", he snickered pressing closer to her soft pelt. He felt their pelts touch and he closed his eyes breathing out a deep sigh. He licked her cheek once more before moving away. He didn't want her to have to choose this because he was right here. He would not let her choose while she still held fear. She would have to choose when she held no more fear, or indecision. She would need to choose him when she was ready not when he was ready or when he wanted them but when she was truely ready she would know.

The she-cat gave a slight nod, and closed her eyes slowly. She was in a trance, in a trance of pure bliss. She was trying to think, trying to think if she did want kits. For some reason, the only answer that came to mind, was, "Yes."

She muttered a word, rather softly, that was probably heard, maybe not.

"Yes."

She looked back at him with her blue eyes, and gave a soft smile.

Smokewisp purred when the soft word escaped the she-cat's lips. His purr was loud and throaty as he once again closed the space between himself and the she-cat. He licked her ear while his tail tip twitched excitedly. He leaned into her gently knowing that the support was keeping him for running into the forest and screaming that he was going to be a father. He glanced at Spottedtail shyly before licked her chest fur. "I love you.", was the last thing he whispered to her.

Smokewisp layed cat napping enjoying the new-leaf sun. His grey fur was ruffled and he was breathing deeply knowing that the most beautiful she-cat was laying beside him.

SpottedTail purred, not sure exactly how to feel nor say. All she knew was that she was happy that she would be a mother, although she wasn't exactly prepared, but she was at the same time. She knew she would be when the time comes, that is for sure.

She heard the little saying that he said, and she smiled, replying an, 'I love you,' back.

The she-cat was laying beside her mate, snuggling right into his fur. She purred loudly, licking his neck a few times.

Smokewisp's neck rummble as a massive purr erupted. This was the happiest he had ever been in moons. "What will we name them?", he asked tenderly. He turned over so he could look into her eyes and when he did he thought he saw a little twinkle in them that wasn't there before.
