She shrugged.

"Don't worry about other cats, worry about yourself. I mean, you need to be sure you are doing the right thing, for yourself."

"That's what I do, partially, but now.. this whole clan.. it's heaving my shoulders left and right."

She sighed.

"Believe me, it'll help. And.. don't think about what you are supposed to do, but think on what you are going to do."

Moonsight shrugged slightly. “There are two kinds of good warriors. One who say they’ll die for their clan, and will if the time comes; and the other who’ll lay down their life in order to save a kit. It all depends on the warrior you want to be.”

He tilted his head slightly. “You’re willing to do anything for you clan, you’re just unsure about it right now. Everyone is, don’t ever be afraid to ask for help if you are.” He paused again, glancing out into the darkness. “I think I’m like you, in a way. But I’d be willing to give myself to anyone, if they have a kind heart than I will die for them. I wasn’t like that before, I’ve changed to much to go back.”

She paused and let him continue to speak. She would die for this clan, she would do anything for this clan.. but would she tell the clan her secret? She shook her head, and sighed, her tail tip flicking making it seem something was bothering her.

She gave him a weak smile.

Moonsight saw her reaction, he knew something was up. But he decided not to question Foxstar, if she wished to speak about what was bothering her she could, but he wasn’t going to push, he wasn’t like that. Instead he chuckled grimly. “I don’t want you to be like me. I wouldn’t want to anyone to feel the way I feel, to think the way I think.” He paused again, frowning slightly. “You should always be on the lookout for danger, but you should never have to always watch your back like I do, you should never have trouble getting to sleep at night for fear that you won’t wake up in the morning. It’ll drive cats insane, I’ve seen it happen.”

She squirmed under her little pelt. She did have things to fear, scared that her whole clan would collapse because of her little secret, because of the black grass outside, even though AshStorm told her it was normal and could be used with coltsfoot if it effects on cats, but she thought it was a sign to drive her out, a sign to drive WindClan out.

Her ears flicked back, and looked at the ground.

"I have more fears than you think. Things that I worry about, things that I keep secret from the clan. I don't wish to tell anyone.. but I don't know if I should. I am scared that I might be.. driven out."

She slunk down, and let out a sigh.

"I'd tell you.. but.. I don't know what would happen, and who is around.."

Her ears flicked back again, and let out a sigh.

"It does include leadership, StarClan, and my senses, how I have been acting.."

Her ears folded back against her head, her eyes shutting tightly.

"WaveStar shouldn't of had faith in me, nor should anyone. I'll just drive this clan down hill.."

Moonsight listened silently to Foxstar, thinking deeply. He frowned into space, thinking for a moment. It was hard to think of what he could say, he had lost faith in Starclan a long time ago, and he had grown used to having many cats around him that felt the same way. Now though he was immersed once again with cats that placed their whole belief in something that could promise one thing and then turn around and do the opposite.

“I can’t tell you what to do Foxstar, it is your decision. And if this matter is with Starclan, then you can’t expect a sign from them telling you what to do; you’ll have to decide this on your own.” He paused glancing up to meet Foxstar’s eyes. “But if you wish to speak out, tell the clan what is happening, I’ll help you. Of course, if you don’t, I’ll help you as well. You just have to realize, I’m not the best cat to be talking to if you still trust Starclan; they’ve broken my trust.

“But don’t ever say that Wavestar shouldn’t have chosen you, he knew what he was doing. This isn’t your fault.” Stopping again he tilted his head. “When did this exactly happen?”

"How can I tell the clan that StarClan rejected me? How can I tell the clan that I am not a good leader, since my sight, hearing, and smell is not becoming well."

Her eyes were starting to water, looking at the ground.

"You still listen.. I like that. Even if you don't believe in something, you still listen and give advice. And this started when I went to get my nine lives.."

She shook her head, and scuffled her paws.

Moonsight smiled sympathetically. “I know it’s hard, but you have to do what you think is right for the clan. Whatever you think will work out best in the long run, because, eventually the others will find out somehow. It may not be one of us that tell them, it could be Starclan, or a rouge that found out.”

He paused again before sighing. “As much as everyone wants it to be, life isn’t fair. If it was my parents wouldn’t have been complete jerks, Wavestar wouldn’t be dead, and the clans wouldn’t be fighting each other. As hard as we try, things will never be fair, sometimes it’ll be in our favor, but most of the time it won’t be. It’s the way you chose to handle it that shows who you are as a cat.”

Moonsight thought for a moment, thinking of possible ways. He knew most cats weren’t as accepting as he and Mosspelt had become, and he knew it would be dangerous to announce it the wrong way. Maybe there weren’t any right ways though.

“Just tell them all at once in a clan meeting. That way they’ll all know and have each other, unless they turn on each other and decide to become mass murderers, which I doubt it likely.” Moonsight replied slowly.

Moonsight nodded understandingly. After a moment of indecisicion, he brushed past Foxstar and walked towards the exit. He needed to think, and he got the feeling Foxstar did too. Maybe he would go hunting, it seemed like something to take his mind off of everything.

Pausing he glanced over his shoulder. “That’s what I’m here for Foxstar.”

FoxStar watched him start to walk away, her ears folding back even more. She wanted him to stay, but she can't force him. She let out a sigh, and looked at her paws.

Her left ear perked up with a flick, and sighed.

She murmured, a twinge of sadness leeking out of her voice.

Moonsight closed his eyes again before finally replying quietly. “If you ever want to talk about anything Foxstar, you know I’m willing to listen.”

After a moment he finally turned and continued out of the exit and into the forest. He only made it a few steps before stopping to sit underneath a tree. Sighing he tried to make sense of the jumble of thoughts he had currently surging throughout his head. None of them made sense, and he doubted that they would anytime soon.

Soon after she let out a smile, and got up. She would have to call a meeting, and tell the members of the clan. She would have to be confident that she could still be leader, and they would still listen to what she has to say.

If she gets driven out, it is okay. At least she would still have a few cats on her side still, at least she could still be happy for who she was. MoonSight helped with that, helped with that realization.

"Thank you.."

She barely whispered, padding off in the other direction to give out the meeting.
