[cheetah's] spots are hard to see in the [dark]

Cheetahtail walked through the forest before stopping at a sandy beach. She sat down and began to wait for her apprentice to show up. the water seemed to be perfectly rippled across the horizon and soon she was bored. Darkpaw should get here soon she reminded herself before she caught the scent of her young apprentice.

DarkPaw was prancing down, but then stopped. He wanted to show that he was able to learn quickly.

He crouched down, and softly slipped his pads out infront of him, prowling on the floor. He stared infront of him, making one step at a time.

He didn't realize it, but he had made a tree branch crack. He suddenly shout out in an open.

"Did you hear me?!"

Cheetahtail checkled to herself. "I heard you, and then scented you" She said to the apprentice but then her look softened. "But don't worry you'll soon learn how to avoid that."

His ears flicked irritably.

"Okay.."

His tail swished about.

"You are going to make me the best, right?"

He tilted his little black head to the left.

Spottedpawwas stalking something dark, she pounced and bit it, but it was Darkpaw's paw. "Ah! Sorry Darkpaw!" she said, her ears back.

He squeaked in surprise by the nip.

He didn't even scent her, nor hear her.

He let out a low growl, in a playful manner.

"It's fine."

Spottedpaw dipped her head to Cheetahtail, "Sorry!"

Cheetahtail glanced at the young apprentice. "It is all very well. I was just about to show Darkpaw how to stalk a bird. Would you like to learn it too?" She said nicely looking from her apprentice to Spottedpaw.

His eyes narrowed and spat.

Now she is going to get learning from my mentor? No!

He let out a furious hiss, and dashed off.

Cheetahtail was surprised as her apprentice hissed and then dashed off. "err..maybe another time Spottedpaw" She said before running after her apprentice. She finally caught up to him soon and stopped. "Well what was that all about?" She asked him

He stopped, and stared at her. His eyes were narrowed, his tail was lashing back and forth.

"I don't want to train with others. I don't like that. I want to be the best, and I don't want some other cat train with me and my mentor. I don't want them to get the same exact techniques as my mentor and I."

so THATS what happened. She thought to herself and shook her head. "Listen to me Darkpaw. Your going to get out of your apprenticeship what you put into it. As long as you try your hardest and follow the code it doesn't matter what you learn you'll be the best warrior you can be. My first priority if making you the best warrior that you can be. And it will happen." She said laying her tail on the young cats shoulder.

DarkPaw narrowed his eyes.

"How can I be so sure?"

His tail still lashed back and forth.

Cheetahtail purred. This was an ambitious cat. He would get there. "I just know it. Beleive me." She said certainly.
