Crookedstar pulled herself out of her den and walked up to the tree stump. "Let all clan members gather for a clan meeting." she called out to the clan before sitting down and waiting.

Besides; Littlekit, Spottedkit, Stripedkit, Darkkit. weho needs to become an apprentice.

NeedleHeart padded out of the Warriors den, and stared up at CrookedStar.

Fireleaf padded from the nursery, her kits licked stiff.

Leopardclaw licked his chest then heard his leader's call. He walked to the middle of the clearing and sat down next to Fireleaf. Maybe this was about a deputy perhaps. He looked ober and began to lick under her ear, If she was going to be deputy she should look his best.

Froststorm padded forward, his raw eyes still not fully recovered from the skirmish earlier that day. His vision was still hazy, so he had to rely on scent to guide his paws over to the Clan meeting place where he took his seat near Neetleheart. Was Crookedstar finally going to appoint a new deputy? He had no real interest in the matter, considering that he had bigger dreams outside the Clan ranks. All the same, RiverClan needed better leadership than what Crookedstar was providing.

NeedleHeart flicked her ear, as in a hello to FrostStorm. She thought it was funny how a ShadowClan warrior harmed Froststorm so bad. She shook her head, as her tail tip twitched.

Crookedstar looked down at the kits of the clans. "Let all Kits step forward to gain their apprentice name." She called out to the clan.

Spottedkit was the first to zip up, her fur sleek and shimmering.

Littlekit nudged forward Her siblings before scrabbling up herself.

DarKKit purred, and bounced up, his chin held high. He couldn't wait, he was going to show everyone, that he could be a great warrior! That, he didn't need anyone to escort him anywhere any longer!

Crookedstar started her speech, "Spottedkit, you will now be known as Spottedpaw and your mentor will be Leopardclaw." She nodded at the small kit before turning to the next one. "Littlekit, you will now be known as Littlepaw and your mentor will be Froststorm." She chuckled a little to herself looking around at the cats. "Stripedkit you will be Stripedpaw and your mentor will be Fireleaf." She cleared her throat, two more to go. "Darkkit you will be Darkpaw and your mentor will be Cheetahtail." he looked at the last kit. "You will be known as Crystalpaw and your mentor shall be Stormstrike." She called out before waiting for all the apprentices to meet their mentors.

Froststorm's eyes stretched wide, but he had to quickly narrow them from the pain. Surely he was mistaken. He couldn't be a mentor. That would interfier with everything; he didn't have time to balance an apprentice with his revenge. But no, he had just managed to see Crookedstar look in his direction at the supossed mention of his name. His belly churned with annoyance as he realized that it was all true.

Remember, mouse-brain, no cat but Neetleheart knows anything. I have to keep everything under control, otherwise I'll have all of RiverClan on my tail.

Gathering his thoughts, the pale tabby put on a smile that he hoped look real enough. Smiling wasn't one of his specialties, not for a long time since, anyway. He padded over to the small apprentice and touched noses with her. "I expect you to work hard," he purred. Or maybe train yourself!

Stripedkit purred and ran to her mother. "I get to have one of the best warriors as my mentor.", she squealed.

Stormstrike broke into a broad grin, padding forward happily. He was a mentor! This would be great, and fun too! He crouched down to touch noses with Crystalpaw, his bright eyes lit with excitement. "You ready to become a great warrior?" He purred, sitting and flickering his tail behind him.

Fireleaf purred to her apprentice and daughter, "I will teach you all I know..." she purred. She knew what to expect from this bundle of fur.

Littlepaw squealed with excitement, "I will try harder then the hardest!"
