She was going into camp with FrostPaw at her side. She let out rapid gasps, but tried to slow it down, because she didn't want to show that she was going to die.

Her eyes were glazed, they looked empty. It seemed as StarClan gave her energy to let her say bye to her friends.

Her ears were folded back, her paws barely able to even touch the ground, but she showed no pain.

Frostpaw padded happily along the injured warrior, trying to contain the bounce in his step. Dappledfrost would heal Moonshadow all up, then she would be as good as new! "I'll bring you your favorite prey every day, I'll catch it fresh so it will still be warm! I'll come keep you company when you're bored, and soon, you'll be out of the medicine cat's den and out in the forest again!" Frostpaw mewed, glancing up at the warrior. It felt like he had finally found a friend! Despite his lucky go happy attitude, he never had much friends, and usually spent his days alone.

"Want me to get you some poppy seeds before I find Dappledfrost? That might be better, because sometimes you can't find her. Here!" Frostpaw dashed off, and skidded into the medicine cat's den. He quickly grabbed the small black seeds and came back, dropping them at Moonshadow's paws. "Eat them, they'll make you feel better! They'll make you sleepy too though. But that's good, you'll need lots of sleep to get better!" Frostpaw mewed, the words tumbling out of his mouth quickly. His wide gaze searched around the clearing, looking for Dappledfrost, but he couldn't see her!

The she-cat smiled down at him, and nodded.

"Of course."

She grunted a bit as she laid infront of the medicine cat's den. She purred when he brought the poppy seeds. She knew only to lap up two, or she would really go sleep.

She didn't want to sleep yet, she wanted to be with the apprentice, and see her friends, at least.. a few friends, since that's all she had.

No one really spoke to her.

Riddlehawk looked up from his nest in Dappledfrost's den. He heaved himself up and out of the den, padding to the entrance of the den. Moonshadow? Frostpaw? Riddlehawk was still a very confused cat. Must have been a combination fo some of the herbs Dappledfrost had given him. They made him a tiny bit tipsy.

Frostpaw bounced back and forth on his paws as Moonshadow layed down in front of the medicine cat's den. "Want me to get anybody for you, so you can talk with them? Or I can get you some water. Or maybe a mouse so you're not hungry. I would be hungry if I got stuck in a trap. Oh, I should get you some moss, so you can be comfy while we wait. They'll be some in the medicine cat's den, want me to get some for you? It would be extra soft, the medicine cat always has soft moss!" The apprentice went on and on, just happy enough to be talking to somebody. Then, surprisingly enough, Frostpaw sat down, and mewed, "What does it feel like to be a warrior? Is it hard?" the tom glanced at Moonshadow's wounds. He never really thought it would be hard before. he glanced up at Riddlehawk, and saw all the wounds that tom had too. it seemed like warriors were always injured!

She let out a soft laugh, even though it hurt. She wanted to show that she could be brave, or at least, strong for a day. She looked up at Riddlehawk, her eyes still clouded.

"Yes.. it is me.."

She murmured, glancing at the apprentice again.

"I'm fine.."

RiddleHawk really was her only friend, at least, the only one that talked to her, except for this apprentice now.

"What happened?" He asked, looking at her injurys worriedly.

StarEyes padded through camp, startled by the sound of a young apprentice, hyper and happy. She padded over, putting down the mouse she had just caught. "Frostpaw. Calm down. I'm blind and I can't hear ANYTHING when your hyper spazzing like that." she said with a chuckle. She smelled Moonshadow, dipping her head slightly towards the she-cat. "Moonshadow." She said, nodding softly. She already knew the fate of this she-cat. Best just to keep her company.

The she-cat's ears flicked a bit.

"I.. went to get a mouse.. and of course.. I didn't think.. there would be any traps during leaf-bare."

She let out a stifled cough, but continued.

"I stepped on a trap.. and I felt it.. you know.. it ready to spring.. so I moved my paw, but.. My neck still got in the way.. It was huge.. you can ask FrostPaw! If it wasn't for him.. I wouldn't be here!"

She laid her head on her paws, and sniffed a bit. She could tell that StarEyes could tell that she would leave tonight, but she was glad she didn't say anything. She figured RiddleHawk would know too, but eh.

She always knew that blind cats could always tell things better than others, by scent and sound.

Rainpaw was coming out of the elder's den. He had been doing some tasks to heal some minor aliments, but his eyes widen in surprise as he saw Frostpaw and Moonshadow, but something seemed wrong with her. "Moonshadow?" He padded over to the group of cats, raising a brow. "What's wrong...?"

Her ears flicked a bit as Rainpaw came around. He looked like he was actually well aware of her wounds, but he was just nervous. She flashed him a smile.

"Oh, nothing that will put me down."

She grinned.

"Just a neck wound and sprain paws."

Sunflash was padding back into camp, his jaws empty and his amber eyes frustrated. Fresh-kill was still hard to come by this late in leaf-bare. He was thinking of going back out to try again when he noticed the gathering crowd of cats surrounding Moonshadow. He blinked in confussion, then padded closer. "What's going on?" he asked. Right away he could see that the she-cat wasn't looking good. He bit his lip. He had seen Dappledfrost leave ages ago to go to the medicine cat meeting, and probably would be back any time soon. Rainpaw was still here, but could he help her?

"Everything is well, I am completely fine. My paws are just a bit sprained, and I have a neck wound. I'm sure I'll live."

Rainpaw frowned. She had been right to assume he was nervous, as he glanced to the empty medicine cat den. Dappledfrost had gone on ahead of him to the meeting and he needed to catch up with her but this needed attention. Taking a breath, he set his face in a look of determination and looked to Moonshadow. "Sunflash, Frostpaw, please help her into the medicine cat's den. She needs treatment right away." He said, getting his voice into a commanding tone. He glanced to Riddlehawk for reassurance then prayed silently to Starclan. 'Please guide my paws and let me remember what to do...'

The black and white she-cat slowly got up, her teeth clenching with the effort and pain. She shook her head, and shot a smile, already feeling cats leaning up against her.

She let out a purr, but stopped, since of how bad it felt. She slowly padded in the Medicine Cat's den with the help of the other cats.

Rainpaw quickly padded into the den, looking around frantically. This was not a time for mistakes...He had to pick the right herbs now. He quickly found and pulled out some comfrey roots, to clean the wounds, gumweed, to help seal wounds from infection, and then lastly poppy seeds and cobwebs. He looked over as they brought Moonshadow in. "Okay, lay her down on the bedding over there, please." He said, taking a breath and bring the herbs over.
