Trap. {Open}

Of course, since it was leaf-bare, no cat was really worried about traps at all. But maybe, one was left back on accident, and didn't remember to pick it up.

So, she was trotting along the forest, which frost seeping through her pink pads. She couldn't see anything, when she saw a mouse.

It might of been scrawny, but it was prey. It was food.

She went to dip her head, and place her left paw infront of her head, but it stepped on a circular object, which made her paw shoot back.

Of course, two metal things clamed shut suddenly around her neck, which made her let out a painful yowl, which sounded like to her, shook the trees by it's roots.

Frostpaw bounded along happily, searching for any prey at all to take back to camp. He wanted to prove to the clan that he could get prey for the clan all by himself, then maybe Tanglestar would make him a warrior sooner The white tom let out a little squeal of excitement. What would his warrior name be? Frostcloud, Froststorm, Frost.....something.

Suddenly, a yowl broke his concentration, and the apprentice looked around, confused. Without thinking, Frostpaw started running in the direction of the sound. He skid to a stop, and gasped when he saw a cat stuck in a trap. "Are you okay?" He mewed, wincing at the loos of the trap.

The she-cat's neck was stuck in the teeth of the trap. Her windpipe was closed cause of the teeth, feeling like they were suck right in it.

"C--t B--ea--e..."

Was all she could get out.

Frostpaw studied around the trap, looking for a way to get moonshadow out. "Help!!" he yowled as loud as he could. He tried to pull the metal things back, but they were strong. Frostpaw grunted with the effort, and fell back, winded for a second. "Don't worry, I'll get you out somehow." Frostpaw mewed, pressing on something on the ground. That's what would have made the trap shut, but wasn't there something to get it out?

Frostpaw started to panic, every passing heartbeat was important, but he didn't know what to do. In despetation, the apprentice grabbed a wire at the end, and pulled it straight off. He could tell it was an important piece, but would it loosen the trap, or tighten it?

((Haha.. I don't play this cat much, but I think it should loosen, but she dies after the Medicine cat checks her.. like stays a night there but passes away. And yes.. I do. She's gonna be with StarClan now. Heh.))

Indeed the trap loosened, which made her get out, but slowly. Her whole neck was matted with blood, and her paws were hurt, from the struggle of trying to move, trying to get out of the trap.

She looked at the apprentice, her eyes clouded. She knew she would be leaving tonight, but she didn't want to say anything.

She winced.

"T-T-Thanks.."

She groaned.

Frostpaw's whole face lit up in surprise and happiness as the trap loosen, and Moonshadow managed to stumble out. He did it, he saved her! "Come on, you better get back to camp. It'll suck, you'll be stuck in the medicine cat's den for awhile. Don't worry, I'll bring you prey, and tell you all the best stories!" Frostpaw mewed, started to bound back to camp. Then he remembered that Moonshadow probably couldn't walk by herself, and dashed back, going right by her side to help her if she stumbled. He pricked his ears and looked around, making sure there was no more traps nearby. that would be awful.

MoonShadow smiled softly, and nodded slowly. It hurt, but she tried not to show any pain. She tried not to show how much any of this would cost her.

She liked the apprentice, he was full of joy, and when he bounded by her side, she leaned on him gently, not wanting to crush the apprentice.

"L-L-Let's get back."

She muttered.
