Howlingspot left the warriors' den and let out an exhausted yawn. He looked up at the morning sky, then back to the camp. Cats were scurrying around, starting their duties. He looked around, waiting for someone to give him orders but no one did. He settled down in front of the warriors' den and started grooming himself. He looked around the camp every few minutes, hoping someone would give him something to do. But no one came along and he eventually stopped grooming himself and just watched the Clan business.


Lightningkit
Her small paws pounded on the hard ground. She ran through the trees as fast as she could, weaving in and out so she wouldn't get hit by a tree. She felt free and happy, but the vicious snarling from behind her made her upset. Suddenly, something grabbed her neck and pulled her off the ground.

Lightningkit woke with a small shriek. She looked around. No dogs, it was just a nightmare. Her heart was pounding hard and she smelled of fear. She looked around the nursery and everyone was asleep. She walked out of the nursery and stood in the clearing.

CareKit's ears twitched, hearing someone wake, and shriek. She was sensitive with these things. She stood up, and looked around, trying to see who left the Nursery. There was a spot. that seemed warm, but empty, knowing Lightningkit was sleeping there.

CareKit stood up, and padded out of the nursery, her black fur shining against the moonlight, being easily seen. Her emerald green eyes focused on LightningKit, smelling fear, and seeing it tense on the other kit.

She ran up to her, stopped beside her. She moved her small head in her direction, looking at Lightningkit.

"Are you okay?"

Lightningkit jumped when Carekit came over. She let out a relieved sigh as it was just another kit. She looked into the other kit's eyes and nodded. "I'm fine, it was just a nightmare," she mewled. Then her eyes brightened a bit. She never stayed the same emotion for very long and she was cheering up now. She looked playfully at the other kit and tilted her head.

Carekit smiled at Lightningkit, glad that she was fine. She purred, so loud that it seemed that it came from an older cat.

"It's good that you're fine! But what was the nightmare about?"

She tilted her head. She would report it to the Medicine Cat, if it was possible, depending on what it is. Or they both could go. She shook her little head, her black tail swishign side to side slightly.

"Oh, ignore my question!"

She squeaked playfully.

"Let's play!"

She purred.

Lightningkit was about to answer Carekit's question, but then Carekit said to ignore it. She smiled and meowed playfully, "Ok. Let's play!" She ran in a circle and jumped in the air, unsure of what she was doing. She laughed as she landed in front of Carekit, on her four paws. She looked to her friend and smiled.

The black she-kit purred, standing up. She had her butt going in the air, shaking it a few times as Lightningkit started to run in a circle. She saw her jump in the air, and land infront of her.

She couldn't help, but laugh as well. Her tail was swishing slightly, jumping in the air, only to land behind Lightningkit.

She turned, and laughed, staring at LightningKit.

Lightningkit smiled as she jumped into the air, her legs spread out wide. She was scared of the fall, knowing that if she had her legs open she would land on her stomach. She fell to the ground with a thump and laughed again. Her stomach hurt a tiny bit but she didn't express any pain. She laughed again and walked over to Carekit.

The black kit stared at Lightning kit, watching the jump. She smiled, seeing how she fell. She seemed that it would of hurt, but she did not express any sort of pain.

She saw the kit walk back over, which made CareKit smile. She loved having friends around. She purred, her tail lashing back and forth.

"If you want, we can talk about the nightmare. But, we don't have to, if you feel uncomfortable about it.."

She couldn't help but ask, she wanted to know. She sat down, and looked at LightningKit, her head tilted slightly. She wanted to help in every way possible.

Lightningkit shuddered. "I was running through a forest. At first I felt good and free. But then I heard vicious snarling and I was picked up by something really big with really big teeth," she yowled. She looked into Carekit's eyes, confused. She sat down and started licking her paws.

She shuddered, imagining it in her mind. It seemed scary, but she knew what it could be. A dog.

She shook her head, and looked towards the Medicine Cat's den, but looked back at Lightningkit. She sighed, and looked down at her paws. She didn't know what to say.

"That's.. scary.. "

She shuddered again, her mind flooding with that little nightmare, that she was just told.

Lightningkit tilted her head. She turned around and saw Howlingspot. He was looking at her. She smiled at her father and then looked back at Carekit. She looked at the sky and smiled. She looked around and got bored eventually. She let out a sigh and sat next to Carekit.

Howlingspot started walking over to his kit. He sat next to her and smiled. "Hello, Carekit, Lightningkit," he meowed in greeting. He groomed his kit's fur while watching Carekit in deep thought. He tilted his head and wondered why Carekit kept shuddering.

Carekit shook her head when she heard the tom, Howlingspot came over.

"Oh, hey."

Her ears twitched, hearing her own mother coming. Her eyes turned to RunningPath, seeing her sit down next to her. She smiled softly, and cuddled closer to her mother.
