Leafheart shuddered. She had always been best friends with Runningpath and she needed to be withh her. She wanted to have her near to be her protector. She didn't ever want to be any where Tigerfang alone ever again. She wanted Runningpath to lick her and tell her she was dreaming and that it was all ok. She shook so violently as her teeth began to rattle.

The only cat in the nursery was Shadow, he kits playing outside, she greeted Leafheart kindly. "Hello Leafheart, you look terrible!" she said. "Whats on your mind."

Leafheart jumped at the unfamiliar voice. She shivered and took a few steps away from the nursery. She wasn't sure if she could trust this loner queen, and she desperately wanted Runningpath. She growled at the thought of Tigerfang and shrunk down to the ground.

Shadow walked up to her and put her tail over her shoulder. "Come in Leafheart. Tell me what bothering you."

Leafheart's joints locked at her approach. Her eyes shot around looking for the danger. She shuddered and shivered violently but stayed where she was. "I-I w-want R-r-runningpath", she stuttered through chattering teeth.

"Runningpath isn't here right now, But I might be able to help you with what you need." she said. "Living a life alone teaches you alot," she paused. "Come in, I can help you."

Leafheart took a wary step into the nursery and walked in silently. She sat down after looking around the whole den. She wouldn't feel safe anywhere ever again. She sniffed Runningpath's den hoping it would be fresh. But she was quickly disappointed. She laid down and shook her head trying to get the scary visions from her head.

"What is truobling you Leafheart. I want to help you anyway I can, I want to repay your clan for shelter by helping everyone else in it." she said, sitting down but not taking her sympathy filled eyes from her.

RunningPath padded in, in a stomping manner. She glanced at the cats, and muffled. She sniffed her own nest, which had her stale scent. She scowled, and looked at LeafHeart softly.

"LeafHeart, I want you to do me a favor. While I am gone, watch my kits."

Her tail swished back and forth.

"I'm going to Highstones, if you want to know."

Leafheart shivered and slunk over to Runningpath. She was her best friend and in many ways her sister. "Run-ni-ingpath you can't leave me here alone.", she wimpered. How would she be able to face Tigerfang alone. She nuzzled into her shoulder and began to cry. "I-I-I n-n-need y-you", she whimpered slowly. She felt alone more than ever and she couldn't bear to have her best friend taken now.

Shadow watched her, still full of concern. "Please tell me what is Wrong Leafheart! I want to help!"

Leafheart looked at Shadow with desperation. All that she could mange to choke out was a simple silent 'Tigerfang'. She nestle deeper into Runningpath's fur as she whimpered and cried and sobbed. She couldn't bear it. How could life be so fair to others and so terrible to her. She hated how others treated her like dirt and she couldn't have it or she would die.

She looked at LeafHeart, and let out a sigh.

"Sorry.. I have to go. I need to go."

"Shadow is here. She can help you solve your problems and comfort you. Believe me."

Shadow nodded thankfully to Runningpath. "What did he do?" she asked. "Did he Hurt you? Did you threaten her?"

Big tears poured out of her eyes. "All you care about is your stupid kits.", she snapped. She had been alone for so long and now that Starpaw was gone Runningpath didn't even care about how badly Leafheart needed her. Leafheart shook her head slowly and ran out of the nursery. Maybe she would kill herself. The idea seemed so appealing to her now that her only friend didn't care for her.
