"Yea. We were captured by these cats! They kit-napped us.. and I was the only one who figured out how to leave.. and I went to get the rest, Cause only me and Dite went, my sister, and we went to our family."

"Well they yelled at me.. they said that I shouldn't go back to do it alone, but I know I could of done it! Dite was the loud one, I was surprised we got out of there alive! Well I was upset, so I went back to get them myself.. but I got myself here.. Could it of been a sign?"

She tilted her head slightly.

Mintsoul padded into camp, the grey tabby looking carefully at all the cats in the camp. Would they guess at her affliction? She hoped not, because then that would raise questions. Questions she wasn't ready to answer yet.

Flaringmist sat down with his tail wrapped over his paws, pricking his ears forwards curiously. Who will be the mentors?, he wondered. He had gotten attached to the kits when playing with him, as much as he didn't want to admit it. Hopefully they're experienced warriors.

These Lives

Spottedstar waiting for the Clan to gather, then flicked her tail to get their attention.

"ShadowClan! We have many new kits, and it's time that the oldest became apprentices. Though they were born loners, they have lived among us for most of their moons. They have eaten our kill and slept in our nursery, and have earned their places in ShadowClan." She looked down at Shadowheart's kits and beckoned them forward with her tail.

"Fangkit, you shall now be known as Fangpaw. Your mentor shall be Clawtooth."
"Brokenkit, you shall be Brokenpaw. Your mentor will be Hawkwhisper."
"Heartkit, your new name will be Heartpaw. Your mentor will be Flaringmist."
"Bloodkit, you shall be Bloodpaw. Your mentor shall be Dirtfur."
"Tears, you have decided to keep your name. But you are ShadowClan, still, and your mentor will be Shadowfang."

She nodded, finished listing the first litter of kits, letting them go to meet their new mentors before continuing.

"And we have one last kit to name. Flora," she called out, flicking her tail for the she-kit to approach. "Flora, your new name shall be Phoenixpaw. Your mentor will be Tigerstorm."

DirtFur's eyes widened, and looked up at SpottedStar. She had to be kidding. Now there was no way he could leave, he could die, no way he could do anything.

He would have to be motivated, and stop thinking about everything. He would have to focus on everything else.

Fangpaw padded beside her new mentor. She avoided his gaze.

Clawtooth stared down at the small apprentice. "I will train you to be the best fighter in the clan!" he promised. "Those claws of yours will be deadly weapons."

Fangpaw smiled, her and her mentor will get along just fine. "Great!" he mewed.

Heartpaw smiled at Flaringmist. "When will we train?!!" she squealed.

Leafheart smiled and purred. Soon her own kits would be apprentices and oh how much she hoped for them to have the best possible mentors. She laughed lightly and let out a dreamy sigh.

Flaringmist let out a loud purr and gave his apprentice a quick, rough lick on the forehead. "Soon," he meowed. He felt as if he was going to burst with pride. I get an apprentice! But his voice was calm as he continued talking. "Maybe you should check out the apprentice den first?"

"Ok!" Heartpaw squeaked, and bounded off in that direction.

Clawtooth smiled, "When would you like start?"

"Now!"

"Fine then, why don't we start with a tour of the boundaries." he suggested, "Flaringmist, would you like to come?" he asked.

Tigerstorm smiled down to Phoenixpaw, kinda.....proud of her. He licked her head forehead gently, purring deeply. "Go check out the apprentice den Phoenixpaw, and then we'll go out a little later, alright?"

Seeing the cats begin to disperse, Spottedstar raised her tail to gain back their attention.

"Now with so many apprentices, it's time two became warriors. Whisperpaw, Carepaw, step forward."

She smiled, proud that ShadowClan still had strong forest blood rising through the ranks.
