Crookedstar walked back into camp with the huge fish gripped in her mouth. It smelled delicious and her mouth watered at the thought of sinking her teeth into and tasting just some more of its tasty juices. She walked over the freshkill pile and dropped the fish. It was looking a little pitiful with only two fish and one squirrel sitting there waiting to be eaten. She decided that she would wait until she saw the rest of the warriors come back from their hunting patrols before she would come back for that fish for dinner.

She turned and looked around the camp. There were a couple apprentices cleaning out the moss in the nursery and elders dens. The medicine cat was in her den shuffling around with some herbs. It was getting closer to when the medicine cats would travel to highstones. Crookedstar was eager to hear the message that was coming from Starclan. The rivers were starting to dry up a bit without the rain and Crookedstar was beginning to wonder if it would ever rain again.

Oh well I will save these worries for after the medicine cats meeting. She looked over to her deputy who was dutifully letting the dusk patrol go out as well as the last hunting patrols of the day. Crookedstar sat down and looked up at the sky not a cloud in sight. Don't worry about the rain Crookedstar! who could ask for a more beautiful day?! She sat down and curled her tail around her paws debating whether to go take a nice nap out on the sunny rocks.

Cheetahkit wandered out of the nursery when her mother went to take a nap. She waited until she closed her eyes and then rushed out of the front door before any of the other mothers would wake up. She felt the chestfur rise a little bit and she felt proud of herself. She looked around camp with all the other cats around thinking how could she help. She saw Crookedstar sitting at the other side and decided to sit straight up like the leader. I bet I will be leader some day She thought to herself.

Moonshadow was just out hunting, not on patrol or anything like that. She was just coming back to juicy fish in her mouth.. They were big too, she hoped Crookedstar would be prod of her. She had just only found the best to fish. Sure fish rarely showed up but when they did. They were usually big and juicy. She kept bouncing through the grass the two fish in her mouth. She soon saw the camp in her sites and began to sprint. She burst into camp seeing Crookedstar in second she yelled "Crjuksjfstau I guf sho blig futh!!!". She could hardly say anything with the fish in her mouth. She ran over to the frsh kill pile and dropped them in. Licking her jaw of the fish taste she repeated in a better fashion "Crookedstar I got two big fish!!!". She was proud of herself as she puffed out her chest waiting for Crookedstar to say something.

She looked up at the skies again hoping to see only one cloud. Just one cloud to give her some hope of some rain. If this kept up the rivers might evaporate completely which would be devastating to their hunting. How would she feed her clan if their only source of food was leaving. Later she would talk with her deputy about implementing some techniques that would help to do some hunting on land. Right when she had been fretting she heard another warrior come into camp. She scented prey in her mouth and turned to look at the warrior. "Well done! Moonshadow! You can have first pick out of the freshkill pile tonight. She nodded approvingly at the warrior. "With hunter's like you our clan has nothing to worry about during this drought." She said and then looked back up the sky. "Hopefully some rain will come soon nevertheless.

Moonshadow was happy to hear that she could pick out of the freshkill pile first. But she decided she didn't want to eat. She knew it would be better if she ate last knowing she wasn't affected a lot by hunger right now. She stared at Crookedstar for a long minute before saying "I'm not eating tonight. I want the others to eat first.". Like most cats he flinced thinking she would get scolded for refusing to eat to keep her strength up. She looked behind her and saw Cheetahkit sitting not to far from here. Then turned back to Crookedstar and said "Like Cheetahkit she could use the food along with her mother. I haven't been hungry these past few days and I don't want to take food I don't need.". She stared at her leader, and waited a reply. She wasn't going to flinch this time, because she was doing the right thing in her eyes.

But then her eyes softened and her ears flick back up to their normal position and she smiled slowly. "Very well, if you insist." She commented in a soft voice before looking around at the other cats. "You may personally see that Cheetahkit is fed then." She said before turning and looking at the other cats in the clearing. Perhaps she was over exaggerating the clan does look normally fed. She thought to herself flicking her ears back. What an excellent thing to mention at the Gathering. She smiled to herself excited to think about representing Riverclan so strong at the next gathering in front of the other clans.

She looked around, everyone looked well fed so she had no excuse to eat. She sighed her tail laying down in defeat. She had not much to say. She had to eat because everyone was well fed. She picked her tail up from the ground and started to walk around in a circle. She then sighed not being able to think of a reason.

"Well I guess I will have to eat hether I want to or not, So ill just share with someone.".

Her mind racing with what she could do to avoid eating so much hen prey was abundant. She shrugged her shoulders standing their waiting for a response from her leader.

Crookedstar flicked her ears in agreement at the she-cat. She looked up at the sky. A cloud seemed to be soaring high and gradually coming just a tad lower to the ground. Crookedstar's pupils grew a little larger in excitement as she opened her mouth and tasted the air. Yes! Rain will be coming soon now! She thought to herself before closing her eyes in thanks to Starclan for the soon coming rain.
