Appearance:

Blackpaw was quite obviously named not for the main color of his pelt, but his curious paws, which are a stark contrast of jet-black against white. But the color of his paws is not the curious element mentioned. Rather, his left back paw has an sixth extra toe, labeling him as a polydactyl cat of a long linage. And while this genetic mutation poses at times a difficulty in walking, Blackpaw experiences no such difficulty, and is rather untroubled by it.

Not only are his paws dark and carrying a heavy toe, however, but they also exemplify his great size. Blackpaw is a rather large little tom considering his age, standing half a head taller than the other apprentices. And this size is well distributed across his solid frame, seen in his equally huge paws and long tail. The potential for muscle development is clear in his steady limbs.

Blackpaw's face is slightly broad, fitting the rest of his body well. His ears are also dark, like his paws, but are a little lighter in shade variation, coming closer to ash in color. Amber eyes shine brightly under a protruding brow, giving him a rather brooding look that can be intimidating at times. He has long, white, protruding whiskers, but they are hard to spot against most of his fur. His nose, sitting atop a powerful muzzle, is red with a interesting black outline. Any color attached to Blackpaw tends to draw attention, however, as they stand out clearly against his pelt.

Attitude:

As a new apprentice, Blackpaw is characteristically ambitious and eager to learn. He has yet to learn to dread early morning patrols and training sessions, and instead looks towards them with excitement. Learning how to hunt and fight for his Clan is his top priority, as he, like many in his Clan, has a strong sense of pride for his ShadowClan heritage. This can be seen in his constant talk about the glory of the Clan, and his encouragement for his fellow apprentices to work as hard as they can so they too can earn the honor of ShadowClan birthright. He can be a very charismatic tom this way.

Curiously, however, Blackpaw does not see himself as a leader. One might think of him as a potential bully or ringleader considering his great size, but the idea never crosses the young tom's mind. Instead, he will either look to older cats for instruction, or to Brokenpaw, whom he sees a strange sort of power in. Blackpaw, drawn to this power, has decided already that Brokenpaw is a great cat worthy of devotion.

He is very devoted to his entire Clan, however, and no cat could question that loyalty. He shows great respect to his elders, and would hate to say even one foul word against any ShadowClan cat.
To any cat outside of his Clan, however, is a very different story. Blackpaw has no love of any cat beyond his own territory- this includes Clan cats as well as rogues and loner, thought there is an extended loathing toward the latter. He ha no particular reason for this dislike other than he was raised to feel this way. He has never actually met a non-ShadowClan cat, but still has pre-set judgments that are unlikely to change.
