Her green eyes 'smiled' at the patrol and Blazestorm acting how he was. Were her words really that important? It felt weird to not be a warrior or deputy anymore. Now she was leader and well...it'd take some getting used to. Foxstar hadn't really prepared her for the position and it wasn't her fault because everyone had thought the fox looking leader would rule over Windclan for moons to come. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and now Swiftstar was the leader. She'd been made deputy for her courageous efforts to defend her clan and Riverclan from a pointless leader battle. She would learn from Foxstar's mistakes though and hopefully lead Windclan to the best of it's capability under her leadership.
Blazestorm's questioning made Swiftstar look at the rest of the patrol, wondering what they would say at the tom's mentioning of their opinion. Of course it was silly because she could be part of any patrol that pleased her. Still, she wouldn't force anyone in her company. "If it's no problem, I was thinking of doing so," she meowed with smile. Swiftstar felt like shuffling her paws, but thought better of it. Actually, she was pretty curious of how Cinderpaw's training was going and how the borders were at the moment.
Blazestorm smiled at his leader. Of course, he did not know what the transition from deputy to leader was like. From what he observed of Swiftstar's ascension, and her reaction to the new position, Blazestorm was left wondering how she could handle such a change. Now, for instance, he could see her fidget, trying to look more authoritative. He wanted to ask her how this new experience was for her, but he thought better of it. We are patrolling right now, he thought, these types of questions are insignificant at times like this. Shaking his head, Blazestorm looked around, glancing at all the cats in the party. He could not help but laugh, in spite of himself. What had started out as one cat, had now evolved into a total of five cats. To top that off, he knew something was up along the border. Blazestorm knew too well to trust his senses. The flood had disrupted clan life for everyone, leaving everyone vulnerable and RiverClan as relentless as ever.[/blockquote][/size]
Silvermist looked up at Blazestorm her eyes show no concern if the leader joined them. She didn't mind at all anyways. Having the leader around didn't bother her and it shouldn't bother anyone. It was their leader after-all. She looked down at Cinderpaw and then at Patchpool. She was tired today for no apprarent reason. Hopefully she could skip night patrol. Swiftstar would probably put one out because of Riverclan. She needed rest anyways. Although it looked like Patchpool and Cinderpaw could do with more excersice to run off some energy.
Cinderpaw spoke loud and clear infront of her leader her chest puffed out. She said "I don't mind if she joins our patrol.". Her squeaky voice loud around the group. She waved her tail back and ofrth excitedly. Her nosttrils only catching a whiff of rabbit scent. That was enough to get her running. She ran in the direction the scent was strongest only to disappear over a hill and come back with a rabbit clenched in her jaws. She ran back to the group and buried it. Looking at everyone to make sure she wasn't introuble.
Blazestorm chuckled at the apprentice. The young she-cat brought back memories of when he, too, was as enthusiastic and excited to be out in the fresh air, feeling carefree and invincible. His smile faltered slightly, as he came back to reality. He remembered how his own life had been flipped upside when he became a warrior. He knew that life would be a bit different, of course, but he had not the faintest idea that his life would take such a significant turn. Being a warrior was not an easy job, not as easy as an apprentice would believe it to be. Blazestorm had always yearned to become a true, noble warrior; a cat brave enough to protect his entire Clan from destruction. Now that he was in the position, he couldn't help but feel that his dreams of such glory would be crushed. Glory and heroism have nothing to do with being a warrior, he had thought, I wish they had told us that as apprentices. But now, as Blazestorm watched Cinderpaw bury her catch, he quickly hid his true face, putting up a mask. Let the young one dream, for now, he thought, but said aloud, "Then if we are all in agreement, shall we head out?"
Her eyes gleamed as everyone agreed that it was alright for her to be with them, of course it would be if they said no or yes. She did like to be polite though when she could. The whole leader thing was going to take some getting used to tha was for sure. Right now though, they had a job to perform. The territory needed to be checked for any breaches from the other clans.
Cinderpaw was just too cute, but if she didn't watch it Swiftstar might become irratated with the ball of fluff. Her shining eyes up at her though held her tongue in check from telling the she-cat she should stay with them rather rudely. Instead she gave a look towards the apprentice that said it all: stop scurrying off. Well, with Blazestorm's words, the troop began walking the grasses of the moor again.
Orange tabby fur gleamed in the sun and Swiftstar was all too aware of it right now. She was also a bit happy about it. If any of their enemies came near they'd definitely see the patrol and scurry back to their dens. That was the last thing she needed, a skirmish or battle. Right now she was still trying to assure everyone that they would be alright and that Windclan would survive. She blinked, trying to force the worry out of her head, but it kept coming in load fulls. Starclan should've given warning of the amount of worry if they felt obliged to give her prophecies. A grin played on her features at the thought of them prophecising about the immense worries that would bestow on her. It almost made her laugh right then and there. Instead, she turned her attention back to the patrol at hand.
"How is Cinderpaw's training going so far?," she meowed quietly while looking at the apprentice.
