Waking up from the Night Before

Oakleaf just sat there and looked at the leader who was doing the patrols today. He waited with his ears perked just too hear the leader to call out his name. 'Oakleaf that's all you have to say to cheer me up. Just let me do something today please' this ran through the tom's mind the whole time he sat there. Then cats started getting up.

He sat there and looked around then a huge yawn came from the back of his throat and his mouth opened wide and his teeth were visible. All of a sudden he realized what he was doing, quickly he snapped his jaw shut and he blink his eyes trying to wake himself up.

'its going to be a long day if I keep this up'

Getting up he slowly padded over to a quiet sunny spot on the edge of camp. He sat down and ruffled out his fur trying to get warmer. He just sat there for a while and before long his eyes started to droop. Shaking his head again he tried to stay wake. Then he just sighed there was no point of trying to do anything when he was this tired he couldn't even think straight like this. Finally giving up he looked around noticing that there wasn't many cats in camp. Oakleaf laid down and closed his eyes shutting out the world around him.

~~~~~Firekit’s POV~~~~~

Firekit's tail swayed back and forth as she studied the ground. She was intently focused on a specific spot her mind running on how she could attack. She lifted up her haunches slowly, than lowered them preparing to jump. Her eyes were shining as she stared quietly, with the clan bustling around her. She squinted at the spot, her hindquarters now wiggling. She gathered a lot of tension in her rear legs and pushed off landing right on the spot. She gave a tiny giggle as she continued to stare at her paws. She seemed super excited as she knew she would soon be an apprentice.

She plopped down on her side, hitting the ground with a loud thud. She gave a small frown as she looked around for someone else to play with. Everyone seemed too busy and nom other kits seemed to talk to her. She rolled onto her back and stretched up her paws to the sky. Her eyes reflected brightly from the small amount of sunlight that hit them as she laid there watching the cloud move. She tilted her head to the side as she continued to lie on her back. Her milk chocolate brown eyes seeming in a daze.

She felt shivers run through her as she rolled back onto her side and saw Moonshadow standing in the shade. She tilted her ears to the side and she darted her gaze over to Oakleaf. She stared at him intently as he went to lie down. Her eyes never left his pelt until she heard Moonshadow sigh. She looked back over at Moonshadow and gave a small frown. She stood up and shook the bit of dirt that was on her pelt. She padded over to Moonshadow quietly her small frame making her look like Moonshadow. She pawed at Moonshadow’s face trying to get her attention.

“Moooooonshadooooow, Are you oooookay?”, she asked extending the name and okay.

She saw Moonshadow look up at her than look back down. She sat down in front of Moonshadow and stared intently at Moonshadow shifting from paw to paw.

“…Are you okay what happened?”, she squeaked with a hint of hesitation.

~~~~~Moonshadow’s POV~~~~~

Moonshadow glanced up at Firekit her eyes full of sorrow and guilt as she sat there. It was eating her up from the inside as she continued to sit there looking down soon after at her paws. She hardly wanted to be bothered let alone looked at. She thought about her answer quietly. Was she okay? She didn’t know herself at the moment. She felt guilt eating her up as she sat there thinking about the answer for the longest time. She heard Firekit ask her another question but she just couldn’t focus correctly at the moment. It had been a long morning and night for her and she just didn’t think she could handle it anymore. She had to tell someone and Firekit seemed most reliable at this point. She glanced up one more time to see Firekit staring intently at her with a concerned expression. She gave a small smile before sighing.

“I honestly don’t know firekit. One minute he was my best friend, and just because I didn’t want to go on patrol with him he flipped. I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I just thought It would be nice if I spent time with other cats in our clan.”, she spoke softly relieved to get a lot off of her shoulders.

She looked up at Firekit her head now held high as she waited for an answer from Firekit.

There was a dream but he couldn't really remember it. Padding forward in the mist Oakleaf looked around wondering where to go now. He didn't really understand why he was there or what was there. It seemed to be a meadow, that was so misty he didn't know which way to turn to go home. light

Squinting from the sunlight hitting his eyes Oakleaf woke up. Opening his eyes slowly he could see that the camp was still some what empty. Well other than the medicine cat and kits of course but just by looking around camp it looked empty. Slowly he shifted to his feet, then he stretched out his muscles and shook the dirt off of his rusty brown pelt.

Looking over across camp he saw the small white pelt of Moonshadow, and a kit. This kit had white a ginger fur. Firekit He knew most of the kits in the clan, not very well because he seemed to be always busy but today he wasn't. He wanted to get up but the two cats seemed to be having a conversation that he knew he probably shouldn't interrupt. Golden Rule from Oakleaf never bother she-cats while there talking because it ends up being really bad at times. So he waited for them to finish before getting up and heading towards them.

He padded up and simply said. "Hello Firekit, Moonshadow." and nodded to the warrior.
