Tanglekit pranced along the nursery easily getting lost in mounds of moss and nest. She had been bouncing around for most of the morning since she had nothing else to do. She had learned early on to entertain and soothe herself since she had no one to do it for her. Her parents had left her to fend for herself so why not get a head start on the game and be the best that she could. She had already been introduced to meat so that she could eat without milk. It was tricky getting nourishment since milk was no longer on the menu. Her mouth watered when she thought of milk since she had only tasted it once the day she was born. It had been the most wonderful thing she had ever tasted and it was the only thing she craved. But since she had to live off of meat early on she would never get to drink it again.
She ducked underneath the moss of an empty nest, that once belonged to a nursing queen. The smell of milk had long been stale and she rolled around in the soft greenery. She clawed at it and bit it with small prickling teeth. She had to practice her warrior skills if she was to be the best and become a true Thunderclan warrior. She had dreamed of being the best warrior she could since the day she had been introduced to the concept. And since she didn't have many visitors it gave her tome to think about what she wanted to do with her small little life. Not only did she want to be a warrior she wanted to be a mother, and have tiny kits. She wanted to care for them like she had seen the queens care for them in the nursery. She wanted to give her kits the love and attention that she never had.
She rolled off the moss and walked over to the entrance of the den, well from where she was standing it looked like a gate of freedom. Her paws itched to go outside and live like an apprentice or warrior. And since she was only three moons old then she would have a long wait ahead of her. Her striped cream pelt rippled in the warm sun that shone in through the hole in the side. She peeked her head out and when she saw that no one was around she took a few steps outside, feeling the dirt move between her toes as they scrambled in anticipation to be free. She let out little peals of laughter in her squeaking voice not caring if anyone heard. All she knew was that she was free from her bondage. From being alone in the nursery. And if anyone tried to take her back they would have a very angry kitten attacking them.
