Swiftbreeze stodd at the edge of the clearing, staying close to the entrance to his den. This was what was left of the once might WindClan. Now everything was left in ruins. How had one storm made so much chaos? It was only a little thunder, lightning, and rain, right? No, this was much different. Much more catistrophic. This 'little' storm had wiped out nearly all of Riverclan and Shadowclan's territory. How could StarClan have let this happen?

'Your... not... are you...?'

All of the prey had run away but snakes and fish. Windclan cats weren't addapted to fishing and adders? They were far to dangerous for a tom like himself to go after. He'd be dead in a heartbeat. The black and white tom wanted more then anything to help his clan in this time of need, but his wisdom of StarClan and herbs wasn't going to save the clan fro starvation or flooding.

'You left me... the whole clan when we needed you most! How... how could you...?'

"Will I have to watch me clan die? We don't even have a deputy... Oh, Foxstar... Where are you when I need you most?"

((This post FAILS, expeccially compared to my last post. 900 words kicks butt, wouldn't you agree? But it's late and my dad's shooing me off to bed, so this is the best I can do. So you're going to have to deal with it.))

Silvermist watches Swiftbreeze patiently as the cat goes crazy. Soon after having enough she walks over to Swiftbreeze and lays her tail on Siftbreeze's pelt and murmurs something to her. Silvermist says "The storm is over Swiftbreeze. The clans will grow strong again soon. If you like I can help you collect herbs since it has becme harder..." then she flicks her tail for her apprentice Cinderpaw to come. Then she murmurs something to Cinderpaw quietly about herbs, camp, rebuilding.

After that she looks up back at Swiftbreeze waiting for her response. Then she sits done and wraps her tail neatly over her paws.

Most cats from Windclan thought this she-cat left, well, actually, died during the flood. She only left the clan at that time, becaus she suddenly flipped out. She suddenly thought, 'I can't be a leader... I can't take care of a clan.. I can't take care of myself...', and then more of things like that. She thought of Moonsight, and Swiftbreeze..

She loved them both, and they both seemed to love her. Yet, one is forbidden, and the other... they weren't really close anymore. They both seemed to be distant to her, now, though, but that didn't really matter. She was closer to Swiftbreeze, though... but...

She shook her head, while she stayed by the medicine cat's den, very close to it, trying to stay in the shadows. She recalled the dream she had, after she left during the flood. It was odd, weird, and she knew it was true. She knew what happened there was reality, that what the cats there told her, was true. She had to believe it... right? At least, on the safe side.

The she-cat closed her eyes, while she re-called the dream.

She was sitting by a river, which was going up rather quickly and fast. Within seconds, the water rose up to her ankles, and was growing rapidly.

"Foxfire..." a voice mewed aloud, which seemed to echo in the fox-like she-cat's ears.

"Actually, my name's Foxstar," she retorted back, to whoever spoke.

She looked back at the water, and was almost at the middle of her legs. She couldn't help but fear it, because she didn't know how to swim at all. Within the water, were bones. Bones of what? It seemed like small creatures: rabbits, mice, mostly rabbits, she thought.

"No, you will forever be Foxfire now," the voice called back, a she-cat, which seemed to glimmer in the moonlight walked across the water, and stood before her.

She could barely tell the color of this female's coat: Red-orange, with black on her paws. She smelled of kitten-hood, and she reminded her of her sister. Was it really... her? Then again, she doesn't remember her. She never really saw her-- except once, when she was a kit. Then again, it COULD be her, but that was highly unlikely. Maybe it was just a random starclan cat, giving her the message..

"Foxfire, you left your clan to defend themselves on their own. You made this choice. You even decided to try not to believe in us beforehand, and we gave you less lives than what leaders would recieve. You were harsh, and you fought, or rather, were going to fight a clan for unnessary needs," the starclan cat spoke, a growl rumbling out of the chest after she spoke, "we are swiping the lives away, except for one. You are no longer known as, 'Foxstar', and will be known as 'Foxfire', from now on..."

Afterwards, the she-cat pressed her nose against Foxfire's. The fox-like she-cat trembled with fear, which didn't help that the water was up to her chest now. The pain gripped at her fur, seemed like it was tearing it off. Her legs were shaking, with, what fear, like I said earlier, but... with pain, as well. Fact is, this pain just seemed unbearable, worse than when she receieved the lives... mostly because something really WAS swiping them all away. Then again, this was her punishment, yes?

The she-cat backed off, and wrinkled her nose in disgust. She, then, just glimmered away. The water was at Foxst-, no, Foxfire's muzzle, right beneath it, until she woke up. Or rather, got out of her thoughts because she just recalled this dream.

Foxfire stared at Silvermist and Swiftbreeze, feeling a bit of jealousy. She wanted to jump out, and drag Swiftbreeze away, but she didn't dare make a move. She stayed where she was, staring with pain, grief, regret, and... jealousy.

She sighed softly, which sounded like the wind blowing. Her claws dug deep into the earth, hoping that her scent wasn't detectable. She was upwind, and she figured she would be beforehand, which is why she rolled in a lot of mud before arriving. Only the cats who knew her scent, really well, would be able to detect it. Even then, it would be difficult.

Swiftbreeze.. I just want to tell you bye properly..., she thought to herself, while she shut her eyes tightly, which were opened because of the dream being vivid in her mind once more. She hated it. She really did. So.. she just continued to stare at the two.

Cinderpaw nodded thoughtfully then said to Sikvermist "Okay, I'll be on my way then!". Cinderpaw turned around and marched out of camp to find some prey and herbs for the clan. Cinderpaw sniffed everywhere. She guessed since the wind was a updraft... Most pf the prey must've followed the wind! Soon she began to scent again but instead of prey and herbs she scented a cat. She called out quietly "Hello... Anyone here?". She knew she ahould be more careful but she was to curious.

She walked around for a bit trying to find the cat she scented but she couldn't find a thing. So she went on with her prey hunting to help the clan.

FoxFire stayed where she was and moved closer against the side of the medicine cat's den. She hoped that her matted fur, which was matted with mud, was blending in the shadows enough so she was not seen. She couldn't be seen-- at least not by her, or any other cats. Only Swiftbreeze. She was hoping for MoonSight, too, but she has yet to see him..

She shook her head, and looked back at the two other cats, and couldn't help but growl to herself. It was quiet, to where she could only hear, but it was out of jealousy, "Mine!"

Foxfire took a few steps back, in case they did hear, so she wasn't seen. She huddled up against the rock, trying so hard not to be noticed. If they did... well... she'll just take off.

Silvermist continued to sort out the damage done by the storm with Swiftbreeze. She wasn't sure how much they could fix, but she did know nothing can stop Windclan from being strong. She waited in patience, hoping that Cinderpaw returned with something. Al the prey was scared uphill. She knew Cinderpaw was a great apprentice, and soon to be a great warrior. After they sorted out the damage done by the storm she asked "How is everyone healing after that?".

She knew Cinderpaw would be here soon enough. Hopefully she found some good herbs for Swiftbreeze.

Cinderpaw:

Cinderpaw continued to walk farther and farther away from camp. She had to find something. Hopefully a rabbit or maybe even a mouse. Something to feed or heal her clan. Swiftbreeze already had enough trouble, and she knew that. She wanted to help her. She didn't know alot about herbs, but she did know to stay away from the death berries.

She searched every crack and bush. She even dug holes to find herbs that went underground during the storm. Soon she came to a old abandoned twoleg nest. There was a garden with alot of flowers in it. Soon she came to a patch of Marigold and Juniper berries. She was super excited. They were even in good shape. She grabbed a big mouthful. She was running swiftly over the more back to camp. Whdn she got there she ran straight to Swiftbreeze and told her everything.

Ashstorm padded through the moors, the once broad plains having gone slightly marshy from all the storms. She sighed, crouching as she saw a rather rare sight nowadays. A rabbit. She dashed forward, leaping and snatching the stupid creature from the ground. She delivered a swift bite to the back of the neck, purring happily as she did so. Rabbit. She hadn't had rabbit in a long long time. Adders and fish weren't exactly the easiest to catch. Rabbits though...rabbits were easy. She padded back to camp, catching sight of Swiftbreeze. She padded towards him, setting the rabbit down so she could talk without a mouthful of rodent. "Hullo Swiftbreeze." She purred, her bright blue-gray eyes flashing as she did so.

Cinderpaw continued to tell Swiftbreeze about the herbs and the old twoleg nest. She was totally oblivious to the fact Ashstorm was talking. As soon as she came back to reality she stopped talking, and she turned around to see Ashstorm. She soon apologized and explained to Ashstorm about the herbs.

Silvermist who was proud of her apprentice listened quietly to Cinderpaw as she told them about the herbs. Silvermist greeted Ashstorm and looked around the camp again at the damage. She knew the flood was bringing danger and was destroying all the Windclan lived for. She wondered how the other clans were working together to fix their clan.

Cinderpaw turned tail and ran back out of camp to fetch more herbs for Swiftbreeze. She soon caught the same scent she noticed earlier. She followed it to the back of the Medicine cat den on the outer wall. She looked around carefully. She noticed the scent was feint but fresh. Soon she saw a outline of something... She didn't know what it was. She quietly called out "Hello, is anyone there? Come on out... I won't hurt you.". She didn't know if the cat would listen to her... But it was worth a try.

Foxfire stayed where she was, keeping her eyes shut. She didn't move, she didn't seem to breathe. She did not answer this she-cat. She didn't want her attention. She wanted her to leave.

Leave... don't make a scene... she thought, and she wished that the she-cat could read minds, becase... well, she might leave then.

Foxfire only wanted to see Swiftbreeze, no one else. She needed to speak with him, alone. No other cat must know her presence, whatsoever.. It will bring terrible things. She knew that. At least, she thought this...

Cinderpaw stayed where she was, she didn't know who it was but it must be important if they wouldn't come out. She wanted to help them. She said a little louder but not loud enough for other cats to hear "Please come out. I can help you I promise.". She didn't want to hurt the cat but she didn't think they would understand. She flattened her ears and sat down. She was gonna wait if that's what it took. She was gonna wait all day if that's what it took.

Silvermist exited the camp and saw Cinderpaw sitting down. She walked over to Cinderpaw. By the time she reached Cinderpaw she detected a scent. She began to bristle not knowing who it was.

Cinderpaw reasurred Silvermist before she jumped to conclusions. She explained to Silvermist about how they wouldn't come out. She didn't understand much but she thought Silvermist would.

Silvermist patiently let this run through her head. She stared at where the scent was coming from. She started to walk towards it. She said "Why are you here? What do you want?".

This is great, just great. She was obviously seen, and scented. Maybe she didn't roll in enough mud or something. This was just great. What could she do now? If she stood there, with her eyes shut, that would cause more problems. Yet, she can not be seen. She can not be known that she was there. She didn't want anyone else to know besides Swiftbreeze. She didn't even see Moonsight-- maybe he left when he noticed she did.

She shut her eyes even tighter, her reddish-brown fur-- which was only brown at this time due to mud-- prickling with unease. Fear-scent was rolling off of her in waves, mostly because of the thought that if she was noticed, she might get killed for leaving them. Or pressured in trying to be the leader again. Or being a prisoner. She can't have that. She won't. She has to escape somehow.

What do I want? TO BE LEFT ALONE! she hissed in her mind, her claws digging deeper into the ground beneath her. She didn't want to move, but that was obviously making this worse.

Cinderpaw might be able to understand just by the look of Foxfire's eyes... maybe... maybe... hopefully.

The she-cat slowly turned her triangular head towards the gray apprentice, her blue eyes showing fear, a lot of it. Hopefully if she saw it, she might ask for Silvermist to leave, or maybe they both would leave. Maybe... just maybe....

She held her breath, and looked down at her black paws. She just hoped that maybe they would go away, so she can get Swiftbreeze...

Cinderpaw stared at the cats eyes, she gasped. She asked Silvermist to go to the twoleg nest because she had something to do. She walked over to the rock when Silvermist started to leave. Silvermist didn't know why Cinderpaw asked her to go but it must be important and she didn't mind. Cinderpaw stared at the rock carefully. Then she said in her normal voice "Foxstar... Is... Is that you?". Cinderpaw wanted to know the truth. She wanted to know what happened to their leader. If this was really Foxstar she would have to go get Swiftbreeze. Because it must be important if she was covered in mud and hiding.

Silvermist patiently walked across the moor just the route Cinderpaw took. She could tell because of the scent. She finally spotted the twoleg nest. She walked over catiously at first. Then relizing all the scens were stale except Cinderpaw's she walked straight to it. She found alot more different herbs then Cinderpaw did but she didn't mind. She picked a few of each and set them in a pile, after that she found a leaf and wrapped them in a bundle. She decided after awhile before she left she would pack a few more to make a few more trips.

Cinderpaw continued to stare at the rock. She didn't know if it was really Foxstar but she was determined to believe it.

Her paws were trembling. She wanted to run away, or huddle up against the den even more. She wanted to flee, yet she knew Cinderpaw wouldn't say anything. It was just that look in her eyes-- she seemed like she wouldn't betray a single cat, and she wouldn't say a secret if you told her to keep quiet. She seemed like the kind of cat who would be loyal, and do what's right. Foxfire could only trust this grey apprentice; if she ran away now, she knew it would be spread across camp like a wildfire. Cinderpaw already knew who she was, which made it even worse.

"Foxstar is dead," she hissed, "she isn't coming back."

That was true, in a way. Foxstar is techincally dead, in the mind, and she isn't coming back. Even if she wanted to be Foxstar once more, Starclan wouldn't accept her. She knew this. She always has, and she always will know this fact, doesn't help that she was slowly starting not to really believe in them... for certain reasons that are going to be left unsaid.

"Foxfire is here, not Foxstar. I came to speak with Swiftbreeze, that is all," she muttered, "no one else needs to know I was here, that I am here..."

She stared at the apprentice with her almond-shaped eyes, the blue glinting off, well... fear, yet... it showed some joy-- because she knew that Cinderpaw would get Swiftbreeze.

Foxfire knew that if she stayed any longer, her scent would soon become even more noticeable. Cinderpaw noticed it, then Silvermist did, sortof, who else will find out? No one else must know!

"Hurry before my scent is even more traceable!" she hissed, yet it wasn't a hiss of fury, more of impatience and fear.

Fear was mostly because if she was known, she could see ever warrior in the clan, chasing her out for letting her leave the clan alone, to where Swiftfi- no, Swiftstar had to take care of it all. It probably worried them-- all the warriors, apprentices, queens, elders..

All this talking was wasting time!

Hurry, now! Please!

Cinderpaw noticed the alarm in her voice and nodded. She ran off back into camp to get Swiftbreeze. She looked around camp wildly. She noticed Swiftbreeze and ran aound everyone and crashed into Swiftbreeze. She started mumbling quickly about *Cat... Talk... Important... Quickly*. She didn't know if Swiftbreeze could understand her so she repeated it slowly. Cinderpaw said "There is a cat outside that needs to talk to you. She is safe and she wants to talk to you privatly. You can trust her its important please come!".

((Um, Nightstar? I think you might be confused about Swiftbreeze's gender... He's a tom, not a girl... You wrote 'her' instead of 'him' a few times, so... Sorry if I'm sounding mean. ^^'))

Swiftbreeze couldn't help but flinch as Silvermist placed her tail on him. He was uncomfortable around she-cats, now. He had sworn shortly after Moonsight returned that he was never again flirt with she-cats. He hated seeing the ginger female so... hurt. "Of course the storm is over," he growled. "But how can you be sure of what happens next? Even StarClan hasn't told me of what I should do to protect my clan. Perhaps there is nothing I can do... Maybe things only get worse from here on out." He let out a deep sigh, closing his eyes and trying to remember a happier, more peaceful time. As an apprentice, life had seemed so easy... But now... "...Yes. If you can, yes, I would like that." The tom watched as she called over Cinderpaw and spoke with the apprentice. Sure, he had two more pairs of paws to help out, but gathering herbs in these troubling times was easier said then done. That wasn't going to be an easy task.

And then that scent hit his noes.

"Foxstar..." he breathed, so quietly, he could barely hear his own words. Was he happy? No... Not quite... Angry? He could never be angry at her. So what was this awful wave of emotion that seemed to drown him? When Cinderpaw exited the camp, he was about to call to her. But then, he could just barely hear the apprentice beat him to it. 'No! Don't find her first, please! For a heartbeat, he thought he heard her voice, saying the word 'mine', but it could have easily been the wind. In fact, Foxstar might not have even been there at all.

Silvermist's voice snapped Swiftbreeze out of his trance and he mewed, "Slowly..." He himself wasn't sure if he was answering the she-cat's questino or thinking out loud about how he would approuch the former WindClan leader. This was going to be difficult-two other cats, one beside him, almost breathing down his neck, was going to make finding out if he was actually hearing and scenting his love or if he was just going mad. When Cinderpaw returned, her jaw full of herbs, he couldn't help but be a bit... irritated. Now, there was two of them. Could this get any worse?

And, on cue, he spotted Ashstorm appear. 'Oh, StarClan, do you want me to race out of camp to look for her like a crazy person?' "Uh... Hi, Ashstorm... Look, I'm kinda busy right now... I hate to sound mean, but-" the black and white tom stopped when he reallised Cinderpaw was still carrying on about the herbs she had found. He wanted to call out 'thank you!' when the gray she-cat stopped, but kept his jaws shut. "Alright, I hate to sound rude, but you people are talking to much. I've got something important I need to attend to, and I need to do it alone. As much as I love your help and kindness, can you please give it to me another time? No, if you'll excuse me, I need to go do something."

And then he froze.

Cinderpaw must have scampered out of sight while he was talking, as the she-cat called out to something... Or rather, someone. He stood very still, not a thought going through his mind. He heard as the two she-cats tried to talk someone out of hiding from behind his den. He knew who it was. He wasn't crazy... not yet, anyway. So when Cinderpaw came to tell him about his leader's whereabouts, he was gone before she could utter three words.

"I'm here, Fox-" he paused, realising that she probably didn't want other's knowing who she was. "Er... Flame..." Worst fake name ever. But it would have to do for now. He padded slowly, inching closer to where she sat. It was her! If cats were able to cry, he would have at that moment. His body shook at the sight of her as happyness like he had never felt it washed over him. "I'm here..."
