Finchpaw is a mostly black cat with a few white patches. His eyes are a beautiful, startling blue-green. He has a white stripe down his forehead, as well as white tips on his ear. His pelt is soft and furry still, with little hairs flying off every direction. His legs are surprisingly short, just below average size. His tail is long and thick, pure black.

Finchpaw is a surprisingly nervous cat. He'll jump at the sound of almost anything, although it is believed that when he gets older he will not be as fidgety. He is slightly calmer around cats he knows better, such as his denmates and his mentor.

Finchpaw's mother is an unknown queen, his father an unknown warrior.

A twig cracked. Finchpaw nearly jumped out of his skin. His blue-green eyes were wide with fright. His heart was thumping in his chest, he thought it might burst it was beating so fast. He had managed to keep his yowl of terror to himself this time. He didn't want to scare away prey again.

His eyes glanced around nervously until he sighted the vole that had snapped the twig. It was fat and furry and was gnawing on a little nut of some sort.

Finchpaw crouched down, his long tail swishing as he got ready to pounce. His body was still recovering from his fright. Slowly, he crept towards the rodent, his paws delicately touching the ground with each step. When he reached pouncing distance, he bunched up his muscles and jumped, almost missing the vole entirely. Finchpaw managed to slam one paw down on its body and he quickly brought the other paw to trap it, sinking his claws in the rodent's body to kill it off. Only when it ceased moving did Finchpaw pick it up, proud of his kill, to bring it back to the Thunderclan camp.
