Swiftstar turned his head around to look at Spottedfire. "Look, I just can't trust any other ctas right now. I just can feel my past rewinding itself into the future, and I am trying to keep it as far away as possible, no other cat other than me would understand what is happening." Swiftstar felt tears streaming from his eyes.

The gray tom looked at SwiftStar, seeing how he wanted him to disappear. His gaze shifted to SpottedFire, and shook his head.

"I'll shall go, I see that I am not trusted, which no one ever trusts me, except for a few."

His ears flickered slightly, getting up. He nodded towards SwiftStar and SpottedFire as in a good-bye, his tail flicking to signal good luck. He then darted out of the den, and out of their camp.

Seeing the tears fall from her leader's eyes made Spottedfire almost want to give up on him. A leader should always be strong, and never show tears to their Clanmates. Otherwise, how could any cat put their confidence in them? Determined not to let her disapointment show, the deputy kept her expression calm, and spoke again in a gentle voice.

"Perhaps they would, Silentstar, if you were to explain it to them. But if it is the past you fear, all I can say is, don't. What's done is done, and no matter how terrible something was, cats living now can put an end to it. You must believe that."

Swiftstar glared at Spottedfire. "You are right, what has happened has happened, and I have chosen to trust no cat. Not even my own kin." Swiftstar head his eyes looking dull, yet sparkling with tears.

Spottedfire wanted to growl. "But why should you choose such a path? Not trusting any cat will lead you down a long, lonely way towards death. Your Clan is still loyal. You must trust us!" It took all of the she-cat's strength not to let her claws slink into the earth underpaw. Why wouldn't Silentstar listen?

Lillywhisker had ignored Clear's order's to leave and had continued to stay. She barely heard the conversation going on but she padded up and sat so she was just on the edge of the den. "I understand that you won't trust me Swiftstar, at times, I don't even trust myself. That's what happens in Lurkclan. But that's not here. These clans, they have the ability to defeat Lurkclan, the just need trust in each other. I may not know what has happened, and I know you've heard that you have to move on. But I also know that you may never move on. And just the fact that your able to survive, while trapped like that, is what seperates the leader's from the Lurkclanners."

Swiftstar looked at Lilywhisker. "I can't defeat them, I am to weak and I can't even keep my clan together. My son, Hawkpaw, now has left me, and who knows now what he will do. How am I able to move on? I can't take care of my clan!" Swiftstar yowled in the den. He noticed that he had shown who Hawkpaw's father was.

Spottedfire blinked. Hawkpaw was Swiftstar's son? It was interesting, but not important. "Swiftstar, it was your fear that drove Hawkpaw away. Your fear of LurkClan drove you to furry, and you banned him for trying to help. He doesn't really want to leave you, he's probably just upset and afraid. And I think he's a good example when I say that if you don't put your fear away, you can't take care of your Clan. But if you do, ShadowClan will regain their confidence in you once again."

Lillywhisker merely blinked before continuing on. "Hawkpaw will not get hurt, I will make sure of that. Clear and I know of a spot that he can stay till he is ready to return here." The she-cat paused, thinking for a moment. "And you will never be weak. Stand up for what you think is right, and you can never be called weak."

Swiftstar looked down at his paws. "I might be able to, but one day, Snowfeather came here and told me that I have ones in my clan that are planning to overtake me, to kill me. I am afraid that they will strike any chance they get, and I feel scared every night. Hawkpaw still, he doesn't know that his mother is dead, I just told him that she ran off, as soon as he returns, I know I have to tell him." Swiftstar said, his eyes showing the look of deep thought.

Clear padded back into the den, and looked over at SwiftStar.

"It does not mean to not trust any of your fellow clan cats, but means to be cautious, and have senses high."

His green eyes stared at him, his left ear twitching slightly.

Swiftstar looked back at Clear. "Maybe so, but I don't talk to many of my clan members now. I am worried that I might reveal a weakness to one of the traitors. I don't know who I should trust, and who I shouldn't." Swiftstar said with a now confused look upon his face.

The gray tom had merely nodded, and walked over towards SwiftStar. He sat down next to him, and looked at his paws.

"All I can say this, get to know every cat in your clan, it will become rather great. I am not saying tell your secrets, weaknesses, nothing of that sort. And you don't have to trust anyone precisely."

The tom looked over at the other, his green eyes soft.

Swiftstar sighed and thought deeply. "Yes, but, what if I talk to some cat alone and they are a traitor, wouldn't they kill me? I like to talk to cats privately, to discuss things that are bothering them."

Clear turned his head, and closed his eyes slowly. He took a deep breath in, his tail tip twitching slightly.

"I am not exactly sure what to say.. I don't know how to act."

His eyes openned, his gaze on SwiftStar again.

"Do you know what you want to do? Listen to your heart, not your mind."
