Many moons had passed since the fall of the once great Lurkclan. You would never have guessed by the ragged appearance of the tom now that he had at one time been a great general of the clan. This tom was particularly ragged looking, He had strong eyes but his limbs had grown shaky with the need of food. There was way more fur than fat on this cat. And a look of desperation pointed out that this cat needed food and he needed food now.
The scent marker hit the cats nose but he paid no attention and marched into the Windclan territory just as well. He kept his ears pricked for any noise for he could still fight off many a cat. And besides from what he had heard Windclan wasn't as strong a clan as they once had been.
Looking around the fields Rancid let himself be slave to the scents. He searched for movement of any life that would give a great meal to him. In the distance to the west he heard the shuffling of a rabbit hopping along probably off to get its morning meal of grass. Not today. Rancid thought sarcastically. He spent one more moment examining the location of the rabbit and he was off. He spring towards the rabbit and quickly over came it. Leaping onto the rabbit his great weight toppled the rabbit and with a swift bite to the neck the rabbits neck was broken and the cat could eat.
And eat he did. He had nearly devoured the entire rabbit when he thought he heard the sounds of cats close by. He stood up the food giving him back his strength and he knew that he could take on any cat that dared to attack him. He sat waiting for the cat to show himself.
