Two Kits[Bluejay/Moonlight/Open]

Ice bounded along excitedly, his eyes gleaming with every leap. He couldn't wait to get to the river, to see if it was frozen over or not. His energy helped him bounce over the snow that covered the ground, making him blend in.

The pale tom then stopped, looking over his shoulder for his friend. "Bluejay, come on! We're almost there! I think I can hear the water moving!" He flicked his tail before leaping forward again. Then he stopped in his tracks, his blue eyes stretching even wider. "Um, I think we're here."

Ahead of him stretched the great river. Most of the water was still protected by a thin layer of ice, but in front of him was a gap about a fox-length wide, not quite stretching over the whole length of the river. He could see it churning angrily, white froth spitting up here and there.

His little heart beat quickly, but it was with excitement, not fear, as he watched it. The river was powerful and fast, and had the roar of a lion. He was sure it was the strongest thing he had ever seen. Stronger than his parents, stronger than maybe even a tiger!

"Come on, check this out!" He leaned closer to the waters.

Moonlight had been out to hunt for the clan and had already killed a few squirrels and mice but had buried it for latter. She had strolled down to the river in hope to possibly catch a fish. When she reached close enough she gazed along the whole river. She noticed two kits near by one looked like he could fall in at any moment. Moonlight ran to them and picked each up by the scruff and put them as farther away from the river then stared at both of them. "Are you kits crazy! do you know what would happen it you had fallen in!" she scorned "where are you two from? I haven't seen you around here before who is your mother or do you remember?' he asked.

Ice had barely a second to react before he was swept off his paws by a flash of fur. He hadn't the time to cry out before he was set on the ground again, a large she-cat seeming to loom over him. Blue eyes wide with shock and fear, he trembled slightly. The questions came and went too fast for the little kit to catch, so he just stared up at her. "Who, who are you?" he squeaked. All of the pale tom's earlier excitement had left him. Now all he could think of was a question. What was going on?

Moonlight calmed herself and layed down so that she was at there level. This time she spoke more calmly so that the kit could hear.She started with answering his question first "I am Moonlight who are you and who is your mother? I ask this because your on my clans territory and I have never seen you here before also you don't look like any kits from Riverclan" she mewed slowly so the kit could understand everything.

The she-cat's calm tone soothed his rapidly beating heart. He let out a long sigh before saying anything. "My name's Ice. My momma's name is... Well, I always called her Momma. I don't think I know her name." His tiny ears fell flat against his head, ashamed that he never even bothered to learn his mother's name. But when Moonlight mentioned the word Clan, it sparked his interest immediately. His ears popped back up, on full alert. "Clan? What's that?"

Moonlight looked down to the young kit so then was he lost? He didn't even know his own mothers name. "Are you lost?" she asked curious to if he had gotten lost and now she couldn't help him without her name. Then saw his interest prick when she mention clan it was obvious that he wasn't from any of the other clans. "Clans? Clans are a group of cat that live together following the warrior code. We live, hunt, eat, and sleep together we even have a medicine cat that helps out the injured cats after we battle with other clans or if we get sick. I myself am a warrior but have just had my kits turn into apprentices" she mewed.

His eyes glowed as she spoke of Clans. Everything sounded so interesting. "So it's like a big family?" he asked, his tail flickering behind him. "What are apprentices? What's the warrior code?" He broke off there, just remembering that she had asked him a question first. "Well, I don't think I'm lost. My brothers and I went off exploring in two groups. This is Bluejay. He's not my brother, he's just a friend we met up with. The others went off towards the oak trees." He indicated the direction with a flick of his ears.

Bluejay hadn't been paying much attention when he had been snatched by Moonlight. The multi-colored little tom stared up at the she-cat with wide grey eyes. He looked at Ice, his eyes never really leaving Moonlight. "Ice....." He said, glancing back towards the way they had came. He really hoped Gossamer hadn't followed. She'd rat him out to momma straight off........or she would have had she not died......"So what's a Riverclan?" Bluejay asked, flicking his tail.

Moonlight turned to Ice "Yes you could say that were a big family if one falls we all get affected , an apprentice is like a warrior in training it is when kits are able to train learn our ways and after become full warriors and get there name a kit like you would be named Icekit if you liked in the Clan then when you become and apprentice you would be called Icepaw then when you get to become a warrior you would get your full name " she mewed she then turned to Bluejay that sat beside Ice "Riverclan is not a thing but a Clan, one of four great Clans that live in the forrest" she mewed with pride as she explained.

Ice's eyes widened as he listened to Moonlight. He tried to picture it all in his mind, but there was just too much! He attempted to picture many cats, more than any he had ever seen before, in one place. Icekit, he thought to himself. And it would change as I grew up and learned stuff! Cool! His tail flickered back and forth in wonder. And four Clans? That's even more cats! I didn't know so many lived in this forest! "Moonlight, could you show us RiverClan? Just a quick look? Please?"

"I am not to sure how our leader Firestar would like it...hmm..what if you come back with me and we could see if you could stay? this is only if you want and I could take you both in as one of my own meaning I would become your adopted mother"she mewed she would happily take in the kits since hers just became apprentices and they seemed about a moon old and she would be happy to take the in.

A grin spread across the kit's tiny face before it fell away. Now he understood what this would all mean. He would be leaving behind his family- his mother, father, and siblings- for an all new life with these Clan cats. It made him sad, but some unseen thing felt as if it were pulling him toward the future he had stumbled across. The pale tabby bit his tongue, then looked up at Moonlight with confidence. "I wanna do it. I wanna join RiverClan, and you to be my new Momma!" He sounded silly, saying these things with a kit's innocence, but to him it was all making perfect sense. Ice smiled up at her, hoping she'd let him.

She smiled happily at the kit as to show that she was over joyed. Then she looked to Bluejay "and what is your choice? I will give you a moment to think " she mewed in a soft tone then wrapped her tail around Ice and gave him a lick in the head.

Ice purred happily as he pressed into Moonlight's fur, enjoying the feel. Then he looked back to Bluejay. He had almost forgotten he was there. "You should join too! It'll be fun."

Bluejay nodded. "I'll go with you." He said, purring as he rubbed against Ice. They were a pair, an inseperable pair at that.
