Time Goes By

Thorn was relaxing, something he decided he had to do more often.

The grey tabby tom was laying on his belly among the poppies, the snow finally receding and letting them breath and blow in the wind. His narrow face rested on his paws, bright green eyes only contented slits as he watched them dance around him. The loner rather enjoyed their scents washing over him, making him drowsy. But being out here in the open also tended to make him lonely. Thorn blinked his eyes at lay there, wondering where excitement was hiding amidst the flowers.

Give Me A Sign

Needleheart was prowling through the poppy stalks, her ears perked up. She tried to detect sounds, but nothing came, just the sound of her wooping through the stalks. She ignored all the other sounds actually, and focused on her.

The Name Is

The sound of an approaching cat made the tom's ears prick with interest. Who could it be, I wonder? A loner, by scent. He smiled slightly, his green eyes narrowing in amusement. Thorn listened carefully as the cat drew closer, measuring how far off the were, then extended his forepaw low across the ground with the intention of tripping the oncoming cat. Let's see what happens.

Trouble

She wasn't paying attention to much of anything, her paws soon stumbling over the paw.

She didn't even detect it, a hiss erupting from her jaws. She indeed did know it was from a cat, since it was rather.. furry.

A chuckle rumbled in his throat before he stood, shaking out his short-furred pelt. "Sorry, had to be done. Nothing much else to do." His eyes gleamed, also smiling. "The name's Thorn. I probably wouldn't have done it if I had known you were a she-cat. Very rude of me."

"Well, then, hello Needleheart," he mewed politely. He sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. "I don't recall seeing you before. Do you live around here?

Thorn raised a brow. "Not much of a talker, are you?" he mewed, flicking his tail. "I know some cats who go on mewing forever, but you're awfully quiet."

Quite after that, she leapt towards him, her forepaws outstretched with claws unsheathed.

Life Starts

Conto's eyes narrowed as she leapt forward, but not in fear or anger. He was a comparatively small tom, which gave him the ability to squeeze under the she-cat as she jumped and right passed her. The loner turned to look back at Needleheart. "Now why'd you do that? I haven't done anything to you, yet."

She spun around when she hit the ground, hissing at him.

"I don't like talking. I don't like conversations. I don't like anything but Killing, Revenge, and a cat that I can never see again."

She was referring to FrostStorm, but did she mean it in that way? It was true, he was her only friend, which could refer to any meaning at all.

He twitched his whiskers. "My, you must be a bright and happy she-cat." He tried to decipher her last words, coming to a conclusion. "And look, just because one tom turned you down doesn't mean they all will. There could be others, if you drop the whole revenge and killing thing."

"He died you idiot! FrostStorm was killed by a ThunderClan tom, Riddlehawk!"

She took a step closer to the tom, her eyes narrowing.

"No one could replace this, no one could replace him."

She bared her teeth, her cream-colored fur started to puff up.

Thorn's eyes widened a bit. Just a bit. "Ah, I see. Forgive me, I did not know." He swept his tail out behind him slowly, not really concerned about the aggressive she-cat in front of him. "But those names, Froststorm and Riddlehawk. And yours, Needleheart. You were a Clan cat, yes? Although I must say you don't smell like one."
