Tara flinched when she noticed Clear, she hid behind Thorn and licked his shoulder.

Breaking Down

Thorn's fur bristled at the arrival of the new tom, and even more because of how Tara reacted. His protective feelings for her made his lips draw back into a snarl. He leaned over the branch, keeping his body in front of Tara's, and called out to the tom. "You down there. If you don't have any business here, feel free to leave." His green eyes narrowed, not fond of the intrusion.

Tara licked his shoulder, purring. "I love you Thorn." she whispered, licking his ear next.

I Stop To Think

He had been focused on the cat below, the words came as a surprise to him. He had to blink, then rethink what he thought he heard. Love? Any thoughts of the loner below them went out the window as he turned back to Tara. "I... I love you too," he purred, rubbing against her cheek.

Tara purred, rubbing against him. "That means more than you think to me." she mewed, licking his cheek.

Thorn closed his eyes and purred softly. "And to me. I want to be with you always, Tara." His tail reached out ot entwine with hers as he touched his nose to her ear.

Clear shot his cold gaze towards the couple up above the branch. His lips drew back in a snarl, his fur bristling. He was not in the mood for a couple to make his heart ache, talk about kits, showing lovey dovey stuff.

His ears flipped back against his head, as he crouched low to the ground, the tip of his tail twitching angerily.

"Why not you? You are too close to my home. Not to mention, you guys are really bugging me."

He growled deeply.

Tara glanced at the tom, "As you can see, I don't think we care. We aren't hurting anyone, let us be and we will let you be." she said coldly to the tom, pressing closer to Thorn.

Always Watching

Thorn rolled his shoulders, turning back to the loner below. "I don't remember asking you for an opinion. This is my home, too, so just keep going." He pressed into Tara's fur in return, placing a forepaw lightly on top of her own. This was just a cranky old tom, no real threat, but the tabby didn't appreciate how he had just felt the need to waltz in on them.

Never Seeing

Clear hissed. His tail lashed impatiently. Then he suddenly cooled off, and licked his fur down. Maybe this couple can help me with finding his kit.

He sat upright, his ears flickering with unease.

"I'm sorry for my rudeness. Maybe you are correct. I should put my anger, and my stress behind me. You see, I have kits. One of them went missing. I can't find her.."

He sighed, and looked down at his paws.

The words pricked the tom's ears, but it didn't satisfy his suspicions. "One of your kits? I'm sorry to hear that, but I haven't seen any kits come by here. What does she look like?" Thorn attempted to regain his unthreatened posture, sitting back up straight as he looked down.

The gray tom stared up at the tom, his ears flickering with unease still.

"She's.. multi-colored. A bundle of fur, really. She can be rather.. hard-headed. She has splotches of orange, white, and black on her fur.."

He looked back down at his paws, ears drooping slightly. He couldn't believe he was doing this, giving in to complete strangers.

Thorn thought it over, then shook his head. "Sorry. I do remember one kit who came by a moon ago or so, but she was a grey she-cat. Hanging around with an older loner." The grey tabby turned his ear around as he tried to think. Kits normally wouldn't go too far on their own, but sometimes they ended up on certain claimed territory. "You should try those warrior Clans, or whatever they call themselves. If she wandered out there, she might have taken refuge with them."

Tara blinked, "Have you checked those clans? You never know what they are ever up to." she suggested, her voice still cold.

Clear craned his neck upward, staring at the two cats.

"I didn't think about that.. she does always seek for knowledge.."

He said, and sighed. His ears flickered, which clan was the closest? Oh, yes, ShadowClan, right? Or was it some other clan?

He shook his head, and sat up.
