DirtFur looked over his shoulder.

"That's terrible. I will probably be spoken out to everyone. 'The one who killed themself just because of a she-cat he loved and murdered.'"

His eyes narrowed, and padded out of ThunderClan Camp.

Spottedstar sighed, and padded out after Dirtfur. As she went, she looked back at Shadowfang, beckoning her with her tail. She turned her head to Runningpath, and narrowed her eyes thoughtfuly, then called out to her. "Runningpath, I need you to ask yourself where you belong. If you think that it's not ShadowClan, then don't follow." That said, she turned and bounded out of the ThunderClan camp, catching up with Dirtfur after a couple of leaps. She slowed as she caught up, then tried to catch his gaze. "Dirtfur, you're a brave and loyal cat. All I ask is that you show some self-control." Spottedstar's mew was a bit softer now. He was a good warrior- too good to loose.

DirtFur paused, and stared at her.

"I have self-control. I try helping ShadowClan, I try so hard to do things. StarClan wanted me to kill MoonShine. Why? That, Is what I need to find out. Only way is to die. Only way for ThunderClan to leave ShadowClan alone is for me to die. Everyone wants me dead for that tradgedy, I want to die."

He stared.

"You don't even trust me. You only want me for my skills, right?"

RunningPath didn't move. She stayed near StarPaw. She belonged with her kits, and that involved StarPaw. She belonged in ShadowClan as well, but not without all of her kits.

"TangleStar. I want StarPaw. Please."

Shadowfang ran and followed her leader. When out of the camp the black she-cat sat beside her leader.

Spottedstar blinked, taking a moment to answer. "It's not that I don't trust you. It's that I know you make the right decisions for your Clan, but not yourself. Not cat could be trying harder to do so. And it's true that you have valuable warrior skills, but ShadowClan cats need more than that to belong, and that's why you belong with us. StarClan can't take you yet, not while I have anything to say about it." The ginger-white leader sat, then, beside her deputy. "I don't know what your future holds- only StarClan does. But that's no reason just to give up. No true ShadowClan cat would do such a thing."

Starpaw bolted out of the den shortly after the fighting began, streaking past the warring groups. Even past Runningpath who had tried to talk to him. He darted around other Thunderclan cats, running to the one place he knew he could escape it all. The one place he thought he would be safe. The tree. The hollowed out tree Moonshine had died by. Part of the earth was still stained crimson with her lifeblood, but dead leaves covered it now. It was a tiny hollow, barely big enough for him to slip in and out of. He slipped beneath it's roots, curling up in a tiny ball, resting his head on his paws.

Tanglestar watched the apprentice bolt out of the clearing. She looked at Runningpath and sighed a heavy 'No'. She turned to her deputy and smiled, please escort the queen and her clanmates off the territory. Take Goldenfur, Hazelthorn , and Rain.", she said solemnly. If the other clans thought that they could walk over Thunderclan they were dead wrong.

RunningPath didn't move. She didn't move at all.

"I'm not leaving until I get StarPaw."

She said full of confidence.

DirtFur just narrowed his eyes.

"I'm sorry, SpottedStar. Shadowclan doesn't need me. ShadowFang and you can handle it all. Really, what real good am I doing? Killing a ThunderClan cat, causing a big war? Everyone wants me dead. And, I don't think I would be right in ShadowClan, I get awkward glances.."

He glanced away, and sighed.

Spottedstar let her claws slide in and out. "They can't do anything about you. And you can't do anything about what you've done. Dirtfur, you have to move on, not live in the past. It's the only way things will get better."

Tanglestar wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Well then sit there forever, Don't help yourself to prey and don't help yourself to our resources.", she growled walking away to her den. If the she-cat wanted to starve then so be it. There would be no pity from Thunderclan whatsoever.

RunningPath stared at TangleStar, and gave a slight nod.

"Understood."

She sat down, her tail wrapped around her paws. She held her chin up with confidence.

"I'll keep waiting."

DirtFur murmured.

"How can I? I live with the past. I gave up my true desires. I am just a monster."

He started to pace back and forth.

Starpaw wouldn't budge. Not now, not in the near future. He knew that when nightfall came they'd be worried. They'd come searching. But he couldn't take it. He just couldn't deal wwith all of it. He flickered his little tail, shutting his eyes and wishing it all away. Wishing that he could just disappear off the face of the earth.

RunningPath couldn't take it. She needed to find StarPaw. She padded out of ThunderClan camp, sniffing out his scent. She soon came across the tree, and called out, since she knew he was near.

"StarPaw.. Can we at least talk..?"

Spottedstar shook her head. "If that's what you want to believe, Dirtfur, then no cat can change it. I see that." She looked at him with a sliver of pity in her amber eyes. "Do what you will, you always have a place in ShadowClan." The leader turned to her deputy, flicked her ear, stood, and padded off towards ShadowClan territory.

The young tom uncurled himself, stretching and slinking out of the makeshift den. He looked so tiny compared to the tree he had just been under.

"I m-missed y-you momma...." He said, padding over slowly and nuzzling her shoulder.
