Tanglestar let her snarl ripple through her lips. It echoed out of her cave, as she arched her back and fluffed her fur to hide Starpaw. "I am not his mother. Even I know that.", she said trying to regain her calm attitude.

RunningPath hissed.

"Step aside, TangleStar. I can take him back with peace."

Her fur stayed still, not rising, yet. She tried not to scare StarPaw.

"I didn't say you were.. But you are thinking it, you want to!"

The clouds blackened with the rage of many. Defying Starclan was not taken lightly, especially in this case. "Runningpath!", their voices rang out dark and clear. "We have given a message to deliver to you and your clan. And you disobey it so lightly. We have given the tidings and prophecy to your clan.", they said in a loud voice for all to hear. "Starpaw's future is here. He will return when his heart decides he is ready.", they called out calmly.

RunningPath snarled.

"No! I can not obey that!"

Her eyes narrowed.

"What am I supposed to do then? What about the others? The kits?"

She snarled.

That had angered Starclan, did this she-cat presume that her will was dominant over theirs. "Go home! Go to your kits, and stay there!", they all screeched together. "Your destiny is no longer with him", they said abruptly calm. The allusive leader Bramblestar stepped forward. "Why are you so distressed Runningpath. Your kit is safe. Do you not trust us to watch over him.", he said calmly.

RunningPath looked down.

"It isn't that.. I can't stand watching my kits cry..."

Her eyes started to water, staring at BrambleStar.

"What am I supposed to do..? Sit there and watch them cry and whine? Ask me.. When he is coming back?"

She started to sniff.

"It isn't just for Me, I am not being selfish.. I am doing it for my kits."

She stated with confidence.

She had ignored the rest of StarClan, her mind was focused on BrambleStar, since he was being rather calm.

The young black tom flicked his tail anxiously, wanting to do many things at once. Run out to his 'mother', cry, and hide away from it all and wait to die. He curled his tail around his paws, curling up in the back corner and waiting for it to all go away.

RunningPath pushed past BrambleStar, when she noticed StarPaw's sadness and fear. She padded to him, and pressed her nose to him.

"Don't be scared.. You are coming with me.. And all will be better."

She murmured.

Tanglestar growled as the she-cat padded into her den. "Do you think just because your kits cry you can do as you please. Get out of my den.", she growled. "Get out of my camp, and get off my land.", she hissed her warning. "She padded out of her den and looked to her warriors and gave a crazed look. The nice Tanglestar was gone. "Get her off our land now.", she hissed as she bunched down to begin the assault. This queen was mistaken if she thought this was justified.

RunningPath didn't move. She laid there, still. She moved her head slowly over her shoulder, staring at TangleStar.

"This is my kit, wether you like it or not. I will do as I please when it comes to my kits. But, you wouldn't understand that, would you?"

She mocked.

Spottedstar skidded to a halt inside ThunderClan's camp, trying not to look tired from her run across ShadowClan and ThunderClan territory. Her amber eyes scanned the clearing, searching for her missing warrior. They flashed as they spotted her pelt, just inside Tanglestar's den, Dappledleaf standing nearby. The scents of Tanglestar and Starpaw came from inside. Growing irritably, the leader bounded across the camp, brushing past the medicine cat and into the den, making it cramped inside.

She glared at the queen. "Runningpath, I know you miss Starpaw, but he must stay here. Didn't StarClan's message reach your ears?" Her gaze flicked to Tanglestar, cold indifference burning there, and then to Starpaw. A wince of pity for the apprentice broke through her outer defenses, but was gone by the time she looked back to Runningpath.

"Your right, I don't have the maternal protectiveness over my kits, but I have it over my clan and I will only ask one more time.", she said through clenched teeth. "Get out of my camp or are you here to pick a fight, you black-blooded monster.", she growled unsheathing her claws. "You don't know anything about leading a clan all you care about is your kits,", she sighed looking at the queen. "Have you no respect for Starclan or your clan or anyone.", she mewed jokingly towards the queen.

RunningPath ignored SpottedStar, as she rose protectively over StarPaw.

"I am not a monster, nor a cat. I am just RunningPath, a queen over my beloved kits. I don't care about anything else more important than my kits right now."

Her eyes were narrowed.

"I do not care what you say, I am not leaving with out him."

Her tail was swishing side to side.

Hissing furiously, Spottedstar pushed herself between the cats, Runningpath on one side, Tanglestar and Starpaw on another. "Runningpath, you are coming home now." Her eyes narrowed. "You've caused enough trouble here. If anything, you've made Starpaw shudder. Coming did no good."

RunningPath hissed at her leader.

"Do you not get that my kit was taken? Do you not see that? He belongs to ShadowClan, no matter what StarClan says!"

She growled, only to be tackled down by a big brown tabby tom, DirtFur.

"RunningPath, SpottedStar said home, now."

He growled.

RunningPath rolled over, pressing her weight down on him.

"Get off!"

She hissed, as she tried to leap over at TangleStar.
