Dustpaw sat in the clearing waiting for somethin to happen. He sighed and continued to lick his fur so that he would be ready for the new day. His father Swiftshadow had gone on some expedition that took him to his death. But his mother Clovernose had been with her aprentice making him sad. He had just been named an apprentice and was excited about the new day.

Badgerpaw bounced over to Dustpaw, his amber eyes shining brightly. He had just finished chasing a butterfly when it had flown away over the ridge. "Hey there, Dustpaw! What's up?"

Dustpaw looked at Badgerpaw and smiled. "Nothing at all. Wanna paly fight.", he grinned with wide excited eyes. He didn't wait for the answer as he jumped on the fellow apprentice He pinned Badgerpaw and began to prod and tickle him in all of the right places.

Badgerpaw mrrowed wildly as the apprentice tickled him. "Get offa me, you crazy furball!" he mewed. Struggling with laughter, Bagerpaw rolled over so that he had Dustpaw pinned instead. "Revenge!" he purred, and began tickling the tom.

Dustpaw laughed as he was tickled. He wriggled and wiggled but couldn't free himself. "Revenge is evil", he squeaked in between laughing.

Badgerpaw laughed evilly. "Then I'm Tigerstar!" he mewed. He bounced off of his denmate and dropped into a battle crouch, eyes narrowed in amusement. "Bettcha can't beat me!"

Dustpaw hissed at the menton of Tigerstar. "Even Tigerstar was beaten.", he growled. He pounced again and began to tickle Badgerpaw again.

The black and white tom giggled uncontrollably as Dustpaw attacked him again. "Yeah... But- can you do it?" he managed out between fits of laughter. He batted the tom's head with his forepaws, claws sheathed.

Dustpaw jumped up and fluffed out twice his size. "Of course I can Evil can only be defeated by a greater evil or a greater good." He said full of confidence about himself. He wished that he could have been one of those few cats who lived to fight against Tigerstar.

Badgerpaw rolled over and rose to his paws. He shook out his pelt that had gathered dusty dirt from the ground. "If you're so good, prove it!" He wiggled his haunches and launched himself at Dustpaw again, claws still sheathed and his eyes still narrowed playfully.

Moonpaw was daydreaming from outside the medicine cat's den, she sighed,watching Badgerpaw. She couldn't stop thinking about the night they had talked.

Dustpaw saw some s-cat looking at him and Badgerpaw. He puffed out his chest thinking it would make him look brave. He nudged Badgerpaw and looked in the direction of the she-cat purring. "Someone likes you", he purred.

Moonpaw looked away blushing, embarrassed more than anything... medicine cats cant have crushes!

Badgerpaw purred and rolled his eyes. "Moonpaw? Yeah right. We're just friends!" He looked over his shoulder and smiled at the she-cat with a wave of his tail. "Hey, Moonpaw! Come over here!"

Moonpaw, got up and padded over-still embarrassed. "Hey!, er Badgerpaw. How are you?" she said, not looking at his eye-not in guilt, more in embarrassment. "Hi Dustpaw..."
