The valley rose up on both sides as the young apprentice walked through the grass. She had been following the scent of a rabbit but she hadn't noticed crossing borders into the place of the gathering. She had never been to a gathering before because of his mischievous plans that usually ended up in him getting caught.

Up ahead she saw the rump of a rabbit scratching at the ground. She wasn't usually hunting rabbits this was a new adventure for the young cat. She stuck his flank in the air and with a couple quick shakes she was after the rabbit. The rabbit had a bit of a jump start for the shakes had alerted it to the cats presence. Within a couple moments the rabbit had raced out of sight and into a hole.

Miragepaw sat up slamming her tail to the ground in frustration. She didn't know where she was and her mouth was overthrown with scents of all sort that she remembered from her first day as an apprentice but she forgot what or who they belonged to. Just as she was about to bound off in the direction she thought her clan was in she heard a rustle in the grass sounding like another cat. She flattened herself to the ground hoping she wasn't about to be caught by an enemy patrol. They'd make easy meal out of her. Then she'd really never go to a gathering.

A black and white tom padded out, his head turning swiftly side to side, but noticed another cat infront of him. His tail was missing, a bobtail left, twitching. He stared down at her, and blinked.

"Uh..Hi."

[CROOKY]

Miragepaw leapt almost a foot in the air. Flipping around to face the newcomer with eyes wide and fur fluffed out in all directions. "Who are you?!" She hissed weakly. She was to tired to want to fight anyone all the hunting had made her lazy. She looked at the cat with friendly eyes. Starcan let him have good intentions! She silently prayed.

Yakkai was scared, seeing her fly up almost a foot. He squeaked, hiding in the bushes. When she went back on the ground, he slowly slunk down, crawling back out.

"Y-Y-Yakkai! Don't hurt me!"

His ears were flat against his head in fear, his pelt shaking due to how frightened he was.

[CROOKY]

Miragepaw tried to stop being scared and forced her fur to lie flat on her back. "I am Miragepaw. I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me." She said calmly sitting back up civilly with her tail neatly folded over her paws.

Yakkai blinked, and cautiously sat up. He still had his fur bristling, but only in fear. He didn't know if he should trust this she-cat or not.

"O-Okay..."

His eyes decieved him, showing fear all over.

[CROOKY]

Miragepaw was trying to look less threatening now that the cat obviously wasn't there to do any damage to her or her clan. "What's your business?" She asked curiously with her head tilted slightly to the left.

Yakkai took a step back, starting to slink down towards the ground even more.

"N-Nothing! Just traveling, yes.. Traveling!"

His gaze still settled on the apprentice, fear still flooding his optics. He was as shaken as a leaf.

[CROOKY]

Miragepaw flicked her ears back and eyed the cat curiously. "What are you so scared about? is there a monster behind me or something?" She looked around nothing. the cat was obviously scared of her. Go Miragepaw you singlehandedly scared the wits out of this perfectly nice cat. She rolled her eyes to herself. "Travelling? That's a vague answer where are you off to?" She asked inquisitively slightly aware that she was being to nosy.

Yakkai's eyes stared at the she-cat, his fur bristling in fear, his limbs shaking. He had his ears off of his head finally, but that didn't mean anything.

"Traveling! I swear, don't hurt me!"

He said, fear flooded in his voice completely.

Miragepaw was bored of the terror. "What are you so afraid of? really?" She said darkly looking at the cat. Seriously you got claws just like i do why are you cowering like a twoleg kit after a scratch to a leg. She thought to herself looking at the cat waiting for an answer.

Yakkai's ears flung back against his head, green gaze staring up at her.

"Y-You! You are o-one of those f-forest cats that my p-parents talked about, before g-getting killed by them!"

His fur bristled, his gaze still filled with terror.

[CROOKY]

She thought it over a moment. "Well what were your parents? Blood traitors, Clan cats wouldn't kill them unless they did something horribly wrong." She finished. "The warrior code doesn't permit it." She firmly believed what she said too.

Yakkai looked at her.

"I..I.. don't know exactly. They were good parents, they have to be!"

He slunk back, almost thinking about running off and hiding.
