Wavestar padded into camp, it was the first time he had ever been here with his new name. Silently he padded over to the nursery and dropped the kit he was holding. Mosspelt did the same. Glancing around camp he sighed before nodding to his friend and padding over to the Highrockytree (Idk what I'm supposed to call it...). Pausing he finally let out a yowl. "Let all cat's old enough to hunt for their own prey gather for a clan meeting!"

SpottedPaw had arrived behind WaveStar, dropping the kit she was holding. Her gaze shifted up to the leader, noticing a different expression in his eyes.

She shook her head, wondering who the new deputy would be.

FoxFire came out of the Warrior's den, her gaze shifted up to WaveStar.

Rushtail padded out of his den and yawned. "I was just trying to get a nap, if this is a stupid kit calling out, I am going to be mad." Rushtail said under his breath, then he saw Wavestar and pulled his head up and straightened out. "Good, Wavestar, I guess. New leader, and now new deputy."

Sandfur had just gotten back from a patrol and was about to take a piece of fresh-kill. She groaned slightly and walked over to join the gathering cats. She looked up at Wavestar, smiling. "What is it? Are you Wavestar now?" she asked, but then turned away, wondering why she asked. She looked at the warriors' den, waiting for her brother.

Swiftshadow

Swiftshadow left the warriors' den, a grumpy look on his face. "Can't a cat get a simple nap around here!" he yowled, walking towards Sandfur. He frowned as Sandfur let out a laugh. He sat next to his sister and looked at Wavestar.

Wavesong finally glanced around the camp, deciding it was full enough to continue on. Speaking in a loud enough voice to be heard by everyone he continued. "I've been given the task of choosing our new deputy. I hope my choice appeases Staraclan." Glancing around the camp his eyes laid on the newest deputy. "Foxfire. Please step forward."

FoxFire was sitting still, then something caught her ears. She was surprised that she was called. She stood, and padded forward, her gaze looking up at WaveStar.

SpottedPaw's eyes focused on FoxFire, ears flickering back and forth slightly, and purred.

Wavestar waited till Foxfire had padded up to him. "Foxfire, you have been true, and loyal to your clan. I wish for you to take my position as deputy and lead our clan in times of need. I look to Starclan to agree with my choice." Pausing he studied Foxfire for a moment. "Foxfire, do you agree to fight for this clan and never give up? Even when times are tough, do you agree to lead this clan when I am unable?"

FoxFire's eyes gleamed when WaveStar said this to her, basically praising her. She nodded, and purred.

"I do."

SpottedPaw smiled softly, staring at FoxFire. Her ears flickered slightly, her paws starting to scuffle.

Wavestar grinned slightly, nodding to the she-cat. "Then, by the power of Starclan, you may take up your new role of Deputy. Lead the clan well..." Smiling again he leaped off the rock so he was standing next to Foxfire. "Good luck Foxfire... you're going to need it." At least he still had a sense of humor.

Mosspelt and Moonsight both smiled, yowling out the ritualed words. "Foxfire!" "Foxfire!"

Foxfire laughed slightly, purring when WaveStar jumped down next to her.

"I will help you lead this clan well."

She smiled, looking over at him, hearing everyone yell her name in the air.

SpottedPaw was first, due to being too early, yelling 'FoxFire, FoxFire'. She was always eager at yowling names.

Ashpaw had been a bit slow to getting back to the camp. She put the kit down and padded over to where Wavestar had called a clan meeting. She sat against a tree trunk, curled up in a hollow in its gnarled braches. She purred quietly when Foxfire's name was called. She knew that she would be a good choice.
