Patchedfoot watched through proud eyes at her adoptive kits. They were playing with themselves pretending that one was a Shadowclan invader and that they were defending their camp. She giggled as they playfully attacked the invader. "You guys are almost to old for the nursery" she said carelessly.

Smallkit was poking Swiftkit-the invader. She was still awfully small. No bigger than vole... But Swiftkit was twice the size of her and Swankit was almost right sized.Swankit had Swiftkit pinned. "Sometimes it seems well never be apprentices!" Swankit whined.

FoxFire wanted to look at the kits, it was one of her hobbies. She padded in the nursery, and looked at the three kits.

"Hey!"

She purred softly.

Swiftkit had kicked away Swankit and he tackled Smallkit. Who tried to jump but her stubby paws made her jump barly a mouse length."Ow! Swiftkit!" she whined as he pinned her from her side.

FoxFire blinked, and walked over. She nudged SwiftKit, trying to tell him to release Smallkit.

Swiftkit stopped and nuzzled his sister. Smallkit purred and nuzzled back. But then Swankit came and pinned him back down."Ha!"

Patchedfoot giggled until he heard teh deputy scold her children. "Now kits haven't I told you time and time again that stop means stop and to be gentle with each other?" She sighed but seeing that no damage was done to the kit herself she urged them to play on. She threw a ball of moss towards the kits. "Why don't you toss that around? Or maybe there's even a mouse in the fresh kill pile." She turned her focus to the deputy. "What say you? do they look old enough to be apprentices or what?"

Swankit stopped pinning Swiftkit "Seven Moons." she said. Smallkit had went to the moss ball."No we are Six moons Swankit." "We are almost seven!" Swankit argued.

FoxFire turned her blue gaze to the she-cat, PatchedFoot. She merely nodded.

"They surely are. They have the looks, and the attitude."

Of course, she was kidding.

Patchedfoot laughed at the joke before watching the kits again. She would love being back to her warrior duties but she would miss being a mother. It would be her true love for now and for always.

FoxFire watched the kits, her tail swishing. She scented someone else coming into the nursery, and it was SpottedPaw. She wanted to see her friends.

She saw them playing with a mossball, which made her squeal, pawing at it.

Smallkit jumped after the ball. Swankit had it now but Swiftkit ponced on her and grabbed it for himself.
