Love Never Dies

Cedarclaw took another step forward when he took another step back. Her eyes burned, but not in anger. "I do know who you are! I can see it in your eyes. I know you're a good cat, and... I can tell you love me." It hurt to say it becuase it was true. She couldn't ignore the look in his eyes. "I've known you for only a day, but I can see a real cat inside! And you know what that cat is really like? He's honest and caring, and he's the cat I love." She hesitated, knowing she was about to do yet another thing she shouldn't, but she couldn't keep herself away from Sootclaw. She cared too much. She reached out to nuzzle his cheek where the tear streaks stained his fur, trying to bridge the gap. "Was I wrong about what I only thought I saw? Please, just say there's nothing going on between you and Swiftfire and we can go back to the way we were!"

A new look appeared in SootClaw's eyes- Hope. He nuzzled her back, purring rather loudly, his ears flipped back up once more. He couldn't deny it- He loved her, and that was a fact.

"CedarClaw.. you saw it wrong.. I did lick her cheek, yes, only because of that.. I didn't.. I didn't want you to hate me.."

He looked down, and then back at CedarClaw.

"CedarClaw, I love you, and I want you back with me, more than you know."

He purred loudly, his tail swishing back and forth happily.

Together Again

Cedarclaw sighed, a tremor ringing through it from sweet relief. She was so happy that he hadn't pulled away. "That's all I wanted to hear," she purred, pulling back her cheek to smile at him. Her eyes shone with an unmasked joy. "I love you, too. So much. And besides-" the tortoiseshell padded over to sit by his side, pressing her flank into his warmth "-you never lost me." She licked his cheek happily. "I'm so sorry I judged it so harshly. I should have just asked, not yowl at you. I should have kept my faith in you."

When she did that, he curled his neck around, to where his head was practically hugging her. He purred loudly.

"No.. CedarClaw, since of that, that practically made me sure you loved me.."

He mew'd, rather happily, no longer having tears in his dark green pupils.

He felt like the happiest tom in the world, his tail soon entwinning with hers.

Swiftfire barely heard what Sootclaw had said and so she just stopped and looked back. The wind made it hard to figure out what they were saying, but she saw pain in Cedarclaw's eyes and soon both were crying. This day just gets wierder and wierder. Then the wind changed direction and she could hear everything crystal clear. Sootclaw was telling her about her past and she didn't believe.

Sitting where she was a few minutes, she decided to go back now to see what exactly was up. Trotting up to the pair she noticed they still were both upset. She sat down a few leaps away and figured out what was wrong. Cedarclaw thought that lick was of affection. Amusement went over her face and she had to stiffle a laugh.

"Cedarclaw! I can't believe you'd think I'd stand for Sootclaw having more than one mate," she laughed from the distance.

I Close My Eyes

The tortoiseshell entwined her tail with his, purring happily. "And for me, too. The thought of you having someone else was unbearable." When Swiftfire called out to her, laughing, however, she could feel her face burn beneath her dark fur. "T-that was just a misunderstanding. I just saw the lick. How was I supposed to know?" Feeling as if her ears were on fire, Cedarclaw just kept her eyes on Sootclaw's paws. She was smiling, however, because she was certain now that it had all been her overreacting and nothing more.

SootClaw purred at CedarClaw, entwinning his tail back with hers, nudging her cheek gently. He heard SwiftFire, and just glanced at her. He gave a small friendly smile, then licked the top of CedarClaw's ears.

He felt so happy at that moment, for he knew that he belonged with her, he knew it. He hoped that she would be still like this when she got her memory back, which might happen, which would make him rather glad.

He purred at CedarClaw once more, licking her shoulder.

"Sweet Butterfly, you will never fly away, will you?"

He purred.

Love Game

Cedarclaw pressed her cheek into his when he did so, her eyes narrowed in content. She touched her nose to his ear with a gentle purr. "Of course not, Love," she reassured him with a smile. "I never will, never could." The tortoiseshell licked his cheek three times before resting her chin on her paws, glancing up at him from the corners of her eyes. The day's events had made her worry, but those fears were gone, and now there was only happiness and love in her heart. How could she ever not love this tom? There was no way.

He purred, touching her cheek gently. He laid next to her form, pressing his pelt against hers.

"I love you, hun."

He mew'd, laying his head on his paws as well. They looked almost alike, since of the black, but you could easily tell them apart, since of CedarClaw's brown color smoldering in her black.

He closed his eyes, sighing with content.

Starstruck

Cedarclaw closed her eyes, and laid her head into his neck. "Thank you," she mewed, grateful for everything. His love, his devotion, his mere presence. She could have stayed with him there forever. As long as he was with her, after all, what else mattered? Surrounded by his wonderful scent, the she-cat nuzzled into his black fur without any qualms in her mind.
