Moonspirit sat beside her patient, Smallpaw. She was still incredibly weak, her limbs hardly strong enough to hold up her fragile body. She was also still sick with a deadly greencough. But Smallpaw had been about to take a few short walks around the camp, staying away from the cats and food though. Moonspirit had gotten a fresh supply of catmint so her greencough was almost better. Smallpaw was eating a plump rabbit, her eyes shining with new hope and strength. Little did Smallpaw know that Moonspirit threw in strengthening herbs in her daily medicine. The young medicine cat heard a mew at the door.

SpottedTail visited her best friend every day. She ignored SmokeWisp's demands, or how upset he was. She can't help it that she was so worried, or blamed it on herself.

She sat down by the entrance, her eyes gazing around the den.

"How is she, MoonSpirit?"

She murmured.

"Better than a Moon ago, so she is getting better. Our only fear now is if it is fast enough. I am giving her maximum doses of all her important herbs like poppy seeds, catmint and feverfew. If I give her anymore we will run out before she is better." She sighed, "Slow and steady wins the race I guess." Her tail laid over Smallpaw's forehead. She sighed, "I will need to go out later on today for more feverfew."

SpottedTail padded closer to the couple. Her ears flicked a bit, watching. She saw SmallPaw's flank move up and down slowly, as if she was still struggling.

"But is she okay?"

She choked a bit, and stared at MoonSpirit.

"Go.. You can go now. I'll watch her... I just need to know.. know.. what to do."

She winced, her teeth starting to clench.

Moonspirit noticed Smallpaw had already fallen asleep. "Not much, she shouldn't wake for a while, long past when I come back. Is she does feed her no less than four poppy seeds." She said.

SpottedTail looked up with clouded eyes, and gave a curt nod. She wasn't optimistic right now, rather pessimistic. Which isn't good.

"O-Okay."

She choked, looking back to her old friend.

Moonspirit nodded, "I will go then, I wont be far if you need me, just send a Warrior to fetch me." she nodded and padded out of the den. Leaving Spottedtail and Smallpaw alone. Later, before Moonspirit returned, Smallpaw stirred, she opened her eyes and mewed, "Hey Spottedtail."

SpottedTail dipped her head to MoonSpirit, and soon noticed SmallPaw stir.

She wanted to leap in the air and cheer, but she kept her feelings to herself, pressing her muzzle to the other she-cats.

"Hey, SmallPaw. How are you feeling?"

She asked that, not remembering to hand her the poppy seeds. She stared at SmallPaw, her best friend.

"Better than I did a moon ago." she mewed, her throat rasping but otherwise was fine. "Now that I have Poppy seeds my nightmares have gone away." she said. "I am happy now." She leaned into her friend. "I'm glad I have a friend like you."

At the word of "poppy seeds" she remembered that she was supposed to give SmallPaw four of them.

She hurried over to the poppy seeds, and got four of them for SmallPaw.

"M-Moonspirit told me to give these to you!"

She muttered, soon feeling her friend lean against her.

"If I was a good friend, I would of stopped you from jumping in before hand.."

She muttered to herself.

"Not yet, I want to talk. Moonspirit will never know, It can't hurt to chat for a minute or two can it?" She mewed, "And don't talk like that. You did everything you could to stop me, but I guess I couldn't see me purpose, I was determined to see my parents again... I felt like they were the only ones who loved me. But I was wrong, I have you, and Greypool. But now I know you cared for me all along." she smiled.

She flinched slightly, and nuzzled her cheek.

"You disliked the fact that I tried to break you and greypool apart.."

Her paws scuffled, and stared at the ground.

"I wish I could be a better friend."

She murmured.

"No, I understand why you did that, it was foolish to even think we were ready for a relationship. You were trying to protect me, and that is what a good friend does." She smiled.

"You didn't want to talk to me because I was doing that, You hated me.. I didn't want my best friend to hate me.."

She murmured.
