Emergency! {MoonSpirit, CedarClaw, Open}

The soot-colored tom was dragging CedarClaw's body into camp, his fur still prickling with worry. When she was at the entrance of the Medicine Cat's den, he called in.

"MoonSpirit, hurry!"

SootClaw's paws were itching with unease, not believing that he actually caused this. Why did he do this? He knew... He knew...

I'm Not Longer Here

Cedarclaw was still unconscious, her body limp and holding the weight of death. Her mind would not work, and her body would not respond. But she would've have known. She wasn't there at all. It was difficulty to explain her situation. Perhaps it could be said that every now and again her heart would pick back up before letting out again. Maybe her eyes were letting in just flashes of what was going on around her. Whatever it was, her body would not move.

While the time was being wasted, he decided to try to clean CedarClaw's pelt. At least to get the blood off.

He sat down by CedarClaw, and licked off the blood that was behind her ears, doing it in smooth strokes. He kept whispering though--

"CedarClaw, come on.. Wake up.. Come back.."

He kept licking the blood off though, hoping that it was helping in some way.

Wake Me Up Inside

Another one of the strange flashes came when the tom began grooming her pelt. It was almost instinctive. This flash was a tad different, though. While she couldn't see or make out the words, her deaf ears somehow picked up a tone in the air. There was some emotion in it, but she couldn't judge it or understand. It was just there. The flash then ended, and there was nothing left.

Why was SootClaw paying so close attention to CedarClaw? Why was he caring? Who knew, but he still licked her fur, not helping but a single tear escaping his eyes, falling upon her pelt.

"CedarClaw..."

He murmured, laying his nose against her pelt, laying there motionless.

"Come on... I know you can. You're strong... I know it.. If you really want to prove it to me.. then do it now.. Show it to me Now.."

Moonspirit was training Clawpaw when they came, she rushed to Cederclaw's side and gasped, "What happened?" her jaw dropped at the blood, "Clawpaw! Get me some Thyme, Cobwebs and Poppy seeds now!" She screeched to her apprentice.

Clawpaw raced grabbing every thing that she needed and came running out on three legs the cob webs on one paw and the thyme and poppy seeds in a leaf that was clamped between his teeth. He came over and dropped them lightly so they wouldn't get un-usable for Moonspirit.

Moonspirit thanked him with a nod, "Thanks. Now, what happened?" She looked at Sootclaw. "I can't help her until I know what happened!"

SootClaw shook his head, and looked at MoonSpirit. How could he explain exactly what happened?

"We..We.. We were coming back to camp.. And.. we were rough-housing.. and.. she bumped the back of her head... against a..a..rock."

He murmured, putting his nose against her pelt once more.

She nodded and took a wad cobweb, dabbing it where any blood was. "Clawpaw, fetch me some Marigold, Goldenrod and more Cobwebs." she hissed, checking Cederclaw's breathing and heartbeat.

Lead Me To Heaven

Instinct made the she-cat's body flinch away from the cobweb when it made contact with her wound, followed by a slight intake of air, showing that she was not yet dead. Unfortunately her mind was still elsewhere. It was as if her body was an empty body without a mind or soul. Her heartbeat was slow and faint, but still beating all the same. Everything about her seemed to have been set on mute.

Clawpaw ran there and back as fast as he could with the cobwebs, Marigold and goldenrod.

Moonspirit quickly made a poultice and laid it on the wound, patting it down with cobweb. She then used her teeth to crunch up the poppy seeds and chew up the thyme. She mixed them together and put them on the leaf they had been it before and set them aside. She nosed the lifeless body, "Cederclaw? Can you hear me?" she mewed, wondering if she was at all conscious. She picked up her thyme/poppy seed mix and put a small amount in her mouth, then massaged her throat to swallow.

Holding My Breath

Cedarclaw's body fought against the thyme mixture at first, trying to bring them back up, but Moonspirit's movements managed to force them down. At the sound of the medicine cat's voice her left ear twitched, but that was all her body could manage. When the next flash came the tortoiseshell had the brief impression of many cats around her. But she could not name them. Slowly the medicine began to work on her mind, as if dragging it out of a deep sleep. Her whiskers twitched before she slipped away again.

Moonspirit nodded, "Clawpaw, one last thing, get Sootclaw some thyme, Lavender, poppy seeds and Catmint." she mewed, "He has had quite a shock."
