Greypaw searched high and low, for Smallpaw. It had been many moons since he had seen her, even in the camp. She had avoided him and he couldn't believe that she didn't like him anymore. He tried to find her scent but it leaded him all over and he couldn't find her. The haze had returned and it was hard to focus unless he was looking for Smallpaw. "Smallpaw where are you?", he whimpered tears streaming from his eyes.

A she-cat padded over to GreyPaw, her forepaw setting down on his shoulder.

"Calm down, and slow down. She will be here shortly."

She had been trying to like GreyPaw, but she knew he would never like her. Her ears flicked back against her head a few times as she stared at GreyPaw.

Greypaw licked her paw needing the support. The haze was all around him and he couldn't see, or feel tha hate of this she-cat. He didn't want to lean on her and crush her with his size, so he just sat there awkwardly as he waited for his love to arrive. "She hates me doesn't she", he whined knowing he had made a big mistake.

Smallpaw who had retreated to the Shadows when Greypaw came into the open. Her fur prickled and her teeth bared, he did not love her-how could he? She took a step back and steped on a twig, alarmed she turned around out in the open.

The she-cat sighed, her tail tip flickering.

"No, she doesn't. I can tell."

Her gaze glanced at the sky, ears flicking back.

"She does love you. I know that, she is just scared to say she does, scared to face you since of what happened."

She glanced towards the "Shadows" Where SmallPaw was.

Smallpaw turned around, slightly startled. She looked away, "When I was with him I was blinded, he never loved me." tears filled her eyes and she continued to look away.

The she-cat sighed.

"Then why would he be looking for you? Why would he be searching and searching? He loves you, SmallPaw."

She, too, looked away. She didn't like the two before, but she started to realize what they were going through.

Little crystal tears fell from her eyes, falling into the grass. She wailed silently, her head flew up and then fell back down, "Why?" she cried softly.

Cinderpaw was around looking for her clanmates when she noticed Greypaw with tears in his eyes. Spottedtail was sitting beside him trying to comfort him and then she noticed Smallpaw in the shadows of the trees. Cinderpaw had considered both of them her friends and she still had her small crush on Greypaw. She decided to go over and see what was the matter, Cinderpaw sat down beside Greypaw "what is the matter Greypaw"asked Cinderpaw curious to why he was crying. Cinderpaw didn't know about Smallpaw and Greypaw's relationship but all she knew was that her crush on him had grown a bit bigger.

Smallpaw bounded back to the apprentices den, tears in her eyes. She knew he couldn't love her, why would he have hurt her so?

The she-cat scrambled up to her feet dashing off towards SmallPaw. She cut her off from running to the Apprentice's den, with a mew in her face.

"SmallPaw! Where are you going? Shouldn't you be with GreyPaw! I mean.. I didn't notice before.. but you are a wreck with out him! I was just too blind.. to see it.. I thought I lost you.."

She looked down.

"You need him. I see it now."

She looked at her, with grief in her eyes.

"SmallPaw, go to him. He needs you too."

"Will that stop you? He loves you, just look at him in the eyes."

She closed her eyes slightly, and sighed.

"SmallPaw, you are still young. But you need him. I understand that."

She gave a sly grin.

"Run to him."

She grabbed her scruff, moved her around to where she was facing GreyPaw, and gave her a nudge.

Smallpaw looked at her paws, she would NOT look into his eyes, she hadn't since he broke her heart.
