A Family? (Cicatrice only)

Leo was in the same place she had been in when she had been told that the kits were gone. The glistening willow tree made a perfect place to stay, It's thick vines stopped snow and the ground was made of fallen dead vines, leaves and dead grass. Very soft to the touch. Her and Cicatrice had nest of moss and feathers.

Leo laid in a sunny patch, basking in the sunlight. She had cleared away the snow and was purring, thinking about Cicatrice.

The tom padded in slowly, with a not-very plump mouse. He set it gently infront of her, and smiled.

"Here you go, Hun."

He let out a soft purr, laying down next to her.

Leo purred loudly as she took a bite, she had not eaten all day. But nither had Cicatrice. She pushed it over to him. "You have some too. I can't eat it all." she licked behind his ear, "Its too cold to not share between ourselves."

He chuckled a bit and nudged her shoulder.

"You haven't eaten all day, darlin'. I can go get another, it's no biggy."

He smiled.

Leo sighed, leaning into him and purring. She licked his fur a few times and then nodded. "Fine." she took another reluctant bite. Followed by another, until the mouse was gone. Leo licked her lips clean and purred. "Thank you Cicatrice. Thank you."

He smiled, and laid his head on his paws. He liked the feeling of Leo against him, it made him feel warm and happy.

He knew kits would come soon, but when? He wasn't exactly sure, but he already got tons of poppy seeds, and borage leaves ready.

She purred, "I love you too, love." she purred and licked him lovingly.

He snorted and ran his nose against her shoulder.

"I know."

He purred.

Leo laid down her head and closed her eyes. She pressed into him again ans purred deeply.

He never really wanted a mate, nor intended on it, but Leo changed it all. She made him feel alive, made him feel like there was something to fight for.

He let out a purr, which wasn't really ragged anymore, since he got used to it.
