Mosspelt frowned before glancing around once again. She couldn’t see many of the others reactions, but as she looked back, she could see Moonsight staring defiantly back at her. This had been what he had warned her about.

Turning forward again she finally called out, breaking the silence. “Well obviously Starclan is losing it. If they think Windclan is so weak that we’d give up just because our leader wasn’t ‘accepted;’ well they have another thing coming!”

Moonsight smirked silently. “And if any of the clan’s want a fight about this, then we’ll show them a fight! There’s other clans who’ve led without a leader that has nine lives. They fought the greatest battles of their lives and won. Who’s to say we can’t do it?”

Badgerpaw's eyes widened. W-what? The patched fur along his spine began to prickle as he stared up at Foxstar. How could this be? Did Moonspirit know?

Cedarclaw looked up at Foxstar blankly. What had been the point of keeping the secret if her leader was just going to tell the Clan anyway? And why should she feel the need to, when everything had been going along just fine? The fact wasn't that she had lacking faith in her Clanmates, but one of the apprentices could let this slip out accidently at the next Gathering.
